- Two teenagers have been found guilty of murdering schoolgirl Brianna Ghey in a "frenzied and ferocious" attack.
The 16-year-olds, known only as Girl X and Boy Y, lured Brianna to Culcheth Linear Park, in Warrington, before launching the attack on 11 February 2023.
The jury of seven men and five women took four hours and 40 minutes to deliver a unanimous verdict finding both teenagers guilty.
Trial judge Mrs Justice Yip asked for calm in the courtroom as jurors took their seats. When the verdict was delivered, gasps were heard.

Robert Thompson who killed James Bulger has been completely rehabilitated since his release there have been no issues whereas Venables has not been rehabilitated it depends on the individual.

Why were the killers identities kept secret? They were well above the age of criminal responsibility. Venables and Thompson were not anonymised- and rightly so.
They were 15 when they committed their crime so as minors they are entitled to anonymity. Having said that the trial judge is deliberating as to whether to release their names

Do you remember the James Bulger case, that involved two ten year olds, who ideally should have known right from wrong, but for whatever reason they did what did. Where it has to be noted killings like this are thankfully few and far between to suggest the really bad uns are rare. And perhaps rarity is implicated in the interest that has been taken in this case.
What happened to morality or the basic human conscience ? 16 years old and that detached you’d inflict something like that on someone and text about it casually. Like, what have I just seen.

I don't. I'm glad that there was a trial so that the true motive, which was their desire to kill for the thrill of it was revealed. Why? Because I remember when this youth was first killed. A lot of transactivists and their useful idiot allies started making the murder all about themselves by way of the mental health condition of the victim, selfishly pushing their own agenda instead of concentrating on the person who was horribly killed as just a person.
I could tell from very early on that the trans status of the victim had little to nothing to do with it because I've noticed that a lot of teenage on teenage murders that take place in parks or woods especially when one or more of the killers is a teenage female has to do with dangerous personality disorders, obsession with murder and the macabre (without the sort of religious "momento mori" that makes the macabre "safe") or the victim.
When I heard about it, and the two teens, male and female who were arrested, I thought that the killing reminded me of a couple of similar cases in the US, the stabbing of Peyton Leutner by her two friends who were obsessed with "Slender Man" and Skylar Neese, who was lured and murdered by her two best friends.
I'm really glad that there was a trial so that Brianna Ghey could be recognised as a person who was killed for a specific reason and not lied about like Matthew Shepard. I just think it's disrespectful to lie about the dead.

How do parents and carers not know when their children are immersing themselves in sadistic fantasies? I think you'd know something was going on. The parents should be named, they should be utterly ashamed and held accountable for not guiding and controlling their children, I understand the concept of not naming a child due to diminished responsibility but someone sure as hell needs to take responsibility. If you truly don’t understand what transgender (“in this case” or any other) means, look it up.
Just from reading these comments I'm learning that the media presentation of this is a cartoon. Good v.Bad. Simples. Except as usual,it's not.
There are several possibilities.
A male who wants to be a female?
A female who wants to be male?
A male who (through some medical procedure) has some claim to be female.
The converse of that.
And probably many gradations in between.
I don't know what I should "look up" to decide which one was applicable in the case of poor Brianna.

Poor Brianna, didn't get her chance to start at life, my heart breaks for her and her loved ones the world was robbed of so much joy and love her poor parents were robbed of all her achievements and so many good memories to come. Let's hope both individuals are punished to the full and the rubbish system doesn't let them free.
