G'day Psychonaut, Caged in Trailers make obvious sense. Its stops your stuff falling on the road. Hardly anyone buys a trailer in Australia if it doesn't have a cage attached. Cheers.
This place looks very similar to the recycling dump in my area, I too go there every once in a while to get rid of miscellaneous junk that I have, it's a big space full of scrap metal and old electronic stuff and the like...someday I might make a video of it too
G'day Ed, Yay Team ! Your "Dump Shop" is a lot bigger and better organised than the one in Glen Innes, but ours is at the "Recycling Centre" ; and we have a "No Scavenging" Policy at the actual Dump Piles & Landfill Pits - apparently due to the fear of somebody injuring themselves while so engaged ..., usually I ignore the Sign and take what I feel like taking... I really like the concept of letting people offload/pickup a wide range of "still useful" items before weighing them twice when they dump the stuff they consider "useless" ; and the idea of having them drop it in a Concrete Bay is a bit Kontrol-Freakish, but I suppose it makes it harder to dump Bodies in Landfill. (?). I notice that you'd rather carry the Rubbish overland in your hands, than risk backing a hired Trailer (!). My father taught me to always come home from the Dump with something useful which had been discarded by somebody with more money than sense... It's the Hillbilly Way..., "Save it, Fix it, Make it do & Mend it, Discard Nothing..; *Waste NOT, if ye would Want NOT...!".* Have a good one, ;-p Ciao !
WarblesOnALot G'day Warbles, the trailer you saw in the video belongs to me. It's a asset on the business's balance sheet. I use it all the time to pick up free council mulch from another tip which only processes green waste. I loved my tip experience. I can hardly wait to go there again for another visit. At home I have an old fridge that doesn't work and needs throwing out. Up till last year, the council would carry out free 6 monthly bulk rubbish kerb side rubbish collections but they have now cancelled it in an attempt to save money. Cheers mate.
+VB Ed I see, hmmn, I was wondering how you'd managed to not ever go to the Dump from the end of High School till you had Teenagers... I go to the Deepwater Dump, because as a Ratepayer in an area which has no Rubbish Collection Service I can use any of the Village Dumps in the old Shire Area for free, but the Town Dump costs money to make a Deposit... So, going to the Dump is a 70 Km Roundtrip, for me... ;-p Ciao !
WarblesOnALot In the last 12 months councils in Perth have ceased the regular 6 monthly bulk rubbish kerb side pickups to save money. That's why this is the first time I have been forced to go to the tip.
+VB Ed Well, yikes ! Think of all that righteous Reality Awareness Therapy which you've Bin-Missin' , by failing to make your regular pilgrimmage to the Recycling Centre...! Maybe you can sue your Council for Damages, due to their having unnaturally-suppressed your normal Manly Urge to set out on your regular Dump Run...? As in, "You didn't know what you were missing, till after you got it back...!" ; the satisfaction of wallowing in the glow of Post Dump-Run (Self) Righteousnes, after having seen all the other "perfectly good" stuff which other (much more profligate) people had thrown away & discarded...! lol ;-p Ciao !
Interesting i like the way they recycle things, over here we just throw away everything onto the dump,or we did last time i went about 15 years ago, might have change since then
You would be surprised what people dump in the tips in this country. I have been giving all sorts of electronics from tv's to computers and mobile phones. I am talking about stuff in the boxes still sealed. If you know people who work up there you can pretty much deck your whole house out for free.
Thank you for sharing jour video, thumbs up! Like, Have a wonderful day
Thanks mate.
One man's trash is another man's treasure! thanks for taking us along, Ed.
So True Woggy. Cheers mate.
What an interesting concept. And I love your caged in trailer. I wish they would make those mandatory here.
