13 hours on Yamsquad Rowing Camp

- Hello UA-camrs! Welcome to another episode not in Australia, we are still in Texas! In this episode I take you through a day in my life whilst cocahing on camp out in America. It was a great week long camp where I believe everyone really enjoyed the training. My aim when I am coaching, whether on the rowing machine, or in person, is to make it as enjoyable as possible. When an athlete is enjoying what they do, not only do the improvements come easier the athlete generally will go the extra mile to make more improvemetns. A win win!! On top of the coachhing sessions every day I wanted to make sure I got some good training in so I did 2-3 sessions/ day every day in between coaching. I think for me personally, the training was good through the week and the camp was even better - a good experience all around.

Plus it’s just fun!
Like the juniors at our club, they relish the chance for getting out and having fun whilst training - always great to see the progress.
River Severn still in flood here and the gusty winds made it challenging in the single this morning - very jealous of the water conditions there in Texas not in Australia 😎

I like the combination of comfort on and in the water combined with lovely speedwork. I once had a "comfort in the boat" session at Craftsbury sculling camp and I had to laugh when the coach announced it because I envisioned pillows and a tea service. Comfort! BTW can I order a Yamsquad shirt like the one you are wearing in the States; from your website it looks like you are marketing to clubs and schools, so not sure if you are geared up for general sales. @@CameronBuchan Thank you, I should have looked at Shop first! I like the CB rowing T shirt in orange, but should I hold off on ordering anything until you announce new stock? I don't want to go through the ordering process and then get a long silence from the stock manager.
how would you adjust the target times for that session to someone with a slower 2k?
I remember trying to stand up in the boat but I was too inflexible to do so
I’d be surprised if it’s only flexibility. Generally the most stable feeling positions need more flexibility but to stand up don’t necessarily need to get to this positions!
What shoes do you recommend wearing when erging?
