As a white Australian I say it is time to end this divide between the Indigenous and non-Indigenous people in our country. We can't change the past, but we can reflect on it when making decisions for the future. Long live a united Australia.
Firstly, down with racism, I hate racism, racism is one of the most idiotic thoughts a person can have. People are people, no matter what their geography, religion, culture may be, we are all ONE brothers/sisters in humanity. Greetings and best wishes to all the decent people of the world.
This is outstanding! I have never been more proud to be an Aussie! You..... you are my idol! You’re strong, brave; a sensational young woman. I am actually still crying for how I AM overwhelmed, I can’t even to begin how you are feeling with this amazing reaction. Still crying. I really do not have proper words for how I feel about this video, but more so how I feel about you! I really do wish I had a stronger vocabulary to explain to you and you alone how AMAZING I think you are. Brave, courageous, assertive, confident, beautiful, caring, loving, thoughtful; and so so much more! Shit! I really do wish we knew each other because you could, no sorry would be an amazing part of my life. Still crying 😭
Do it! I want to do it as a white Aussie! We, not NEED, but WANT more of this in our country! The best country! I am with you when you do it! When I’m bikini ready I’ll do it with you 😂
Sorry. Ich kann meine Kommentare nur auf Deutsch schreiben. Es ist herzergeifend dieses Mädchen und die Reaktionen zu sehen. Sehr verehrter Herr Peter, machen Sie weiter.
I look forward to a time when she can carry out such a social experiment without the majority of onlookers presuming that, because she is Indigenous, the experiment must be about attitudes regarding race and reconciliation.
All it takes is one person making the first move and everyone joins in . We will join in love as much as we will in hate. It’s human nature to want to be a part of something . Let’s choose love . That was great
I understand that. But these people aren't the stolen generation. They are lost souls. Kids as young as 5 are doing it and then they grow up on the streets and continue their life of crime because it's the only life they know. They're not doing it because they were raped..that happened to their great grandparents, grandparents etc. Go there and see for yourself
Irene Tanya I'm black so I understand how they feel. Just because they aren't the stolen generation (which they still are cause people are still racist towards them) they are highly effected by that. Like highly. Because they were stolen from and weren't and aren't given equal opportunities they are forced to do things to survive. If they were given their equal opportunities and were given reparations for years of struggle from the whites then maybe they wouldn't have to steal and shit. Why do you think they are doing that?? For fun?? No. They need things to survive and they aren't given the same education, opportunities and hope that everyone else in Australia gets. Which means they are poor and to survive and not die of starvation and hunger and from racists attacking them. They survive. They need to steal and rob to survive. Or else they will die off which is probably what Australia wants anyways. But they aren't going down till they get their rights and reparation. I'm not even Australian and I know Australians are miseducated on the native australians.
Made my eyes teary, when I traveled the world and seen many races and faces. When people came up to me and started talking about Australia and do I find it hard living amongst all walks of life in the land of Oz. I simply replyed, I am so proud of my country that we have a wonderful mixture of races, yer we need to love others as one human race. Not colour race and language. Keep it up humanity might not change the world but it will give humanity a chance to love, forgive and move forward in peace within our spirit. I'm from the east Kimberly Warmun. My children and grandchildren are the colours of the rainbow from different backgrounds and cultural groups that live in our beautiful country of our, so let's all share it for humanitarian love and peace to better ourselves and others who call Australia home for the rest of of the world to see and end devision.

That was beautiful. NOW the truly amazing thing would be if it was a Aboriginal male. A cute little girl is one type to trust, but a grown man??? Maybe in between that level would be a family of four, parents and boy and girl! I think it would really be impactful because they could start with the kids and build up the courage to hug the man. At first I was nervous that the response would be like the lady at :32 hurry along, there is nothing to see. But you Aussie's came through. Good on ya!
So I looked up the statistic that is referenced at the end and it is completely misquoted to fit the narrative here. The real statistic for that 2012 study is that 13% of all Australians "agree [they] trust each other". This video has a great message but you shouldn't need to fabricate statistics to suit some agenda.
Hmmmm. I saw another video like this, same words, aboriginal girl about 14. The young girls are trustworthy and very innocent and truly good natured and REALLY friendly and sweet but..... if you've lived amongst them you've never seen fights like it and crazy drunken behavior, some of which is beyond words. The problems arent as bad as they were, but when they find 3 year old girls with STDs amongst aboriginals..... it's hard for people to trust them as an ethnic group. They're not all like that, but stereotypes stick in people's minds based on the bad shit they see. And then they get to saying that they need government workers to travel out to their areas "because noone has changed my mother in laws bedsheets in months" (do ot yourself) and that kind of expected entitlement burns even MORE people.....
how sweet later that day while driving she was pulled over for DWB accused of being a hostel by a white officer threatened with a stun gun arrested and later died suspiciously in her cell...#GoUsa
The people who wouldn't hug her, those who look scared and such. What are they afraid of? That she might have a knife in her shorts or very lose tshirt? :P I'd hug her. Hugging is nice Body contact actually makes you healthier.
I would not have hesitated. I would have run to hug her. I'm totally addicted to hugs. Anyone can have one. (Oh, got my two jabs, will wear mask, whatever.)
If an Australian politician or a real estate agent spruiking our homes to hoards of Chinese foreigners, they would not only get no hugs but a kick in the balls as well.

Austin Pond you have to say As a European Australian
no one can't change the past
I agree
You can give their land back for starters...

I wish Americans could except each other on both sides
This girl is an inspiration! Everyone needs to see this, it is amazing!
What a beautiful woman! Not just in the physical sense, but in her heart and soul... Beauty that's not just seen, but felt.
I would not cuddle. The reason, she is gorgeous and I would never let go.
Stephan Williams I’m so with you! Just bloody gorgeous!
Maybe we can all hold on to love for each other. I say never let go of that love too. ^-^
Thank you to the women who did the very 1st hug and led the way to all the others 🙌✨❤️how amazing it is to spread love and kindness ❤️
I love how excited she gets everytime someone hugs her...loved this video

I would love to do this as an aboriginal girl myself.
Do it! I want to do it as a white Aussie! We, not NEED, but WANT more of this in our country! The best country! I am with you when you do it! When I’m bikini ready I’ll do it with you 😂

I know I would hug her...what a beautiful girl. And I was thinking as I watched the video...I would ask her name! Beautiful experiment Jasirah!!!
I look forward to a time when she can carry out such a social experiment without the majority of onlookers presuming that, because she is Indigenous, the experiment must be about attitudes regarding race and reconciliation.
I understood what you meant, yes that would be when humanity gets back to understanding we are all one.
Made my day, complete with tears.
I am a nearly 70 yo man. I nearly teared up when i saw this.
Aboriginals are Australians....
Elise Dash aboriginals are the oldest people but I don’t think that they view themselves as Australians.

made me cry this makes me so happy!!

Aboriginals aren't starving or living in poverty. They have so many government rights here... they get hundreds of dollars a week.

"controversial blind social experiment" it's like words have no meaning anymore

I generally don't want to hug strangers, regardless of colour, but I would be up for playing Frisbee and grabbing some junky beach food :)
Hugs from your peoples destroyers.

Moving
@Jack Darrell why is it about the white man?
❤️
If an Australian politician or a real estate agent spruiking our homes to hoards of Chinese foreigners, they would not only get no hugs but a kick in the balls as well.
