- No one has ever become poor by giving. I’ve always believed that if you are blessed with resources, it becomes your duty to lend a hand and extend help to those in need.
With the Yuletide season upon us, it felt more important to me than ever to make others feel the true spirit of Christmas by remembering my community and unselfishly serve and bless others.
Earlier today, I’ve taken the time to carry on with my annual bicycle gift-giving activity and imparted these gifts that I hope will make a difference in other people’s lives. And to me, witnessing the priceless smiles on their faces and heartfelt thanksgiving is more rewarding than any material gift I could have ever hoped for.
Life isn’t always pleasant and sweet but if anything, this yearly tradition I’ve decided to commence a few years back has made way for me to not only bless others but bless my soul, too. It has paved the way for me to contemplate and focus on the things for which I am grateful for - one of the most profound is how blessed I am that I get to be a blessing to others, as well.
Life may not be fair to everyone but we can do something to somehow, alleviate the pains, help carry the burden, share comfort and uplift others.
In a world that teaches us to be more self seeking, I realize that there’s no better time than now to get up and serve. After all, life becomes happier and more meaningful the more we give back and help. ❤️
