What a good design John! I have been working in electronics for 30 years and I know how difficult it is to do what you are telling us. We are left with the desire to hear how this incredible amplifier sounds, and see the whole system working. Greetings from Argentina!

Truly impressive, John. The whole design is brilliant...etching the boards, designing soft-start boards, your idea for the heat sinks, and the beautiful wood enclosing it...awesome how you taught yourself all that! Thanks for sharing.

From the very clever use of aluminum-on-hand for heatsinks, stainless chassis and end panels, original design amps and boards, and more than anything - the elegance of the outer design - this thing bristles with amazing and cool features. You got it quiet by doing research on quality design rules.
Thank you for making videos, I rarely comment but have been watching since the early days. This is excellent!

This is not boring at all John. Very very impressive that amp of yours. I went to Mohawk college for EE technology, learned a lot of theory and a boat load of equations. I guess your only a couple years older then i am so i can relate that it is easier to forget and more difficult to learn something new , but this is indeed impressive!
And yes probably you gonna get reaction from "elektronic builders " who have done this or that diffrent, but to be that good in all of those fields , house reno, woodworking, video editting ,metalworking, elektronics , and driving (haha) i am blown away.

Looks awesome! I don't know about home-grade style ones, but I work with professional ones, and we turn them on/off in a specific order to get rid of any backfeed caused by turning on/off all the audio sources, it's always amp is last on and first off.
We do this because if you turn the amp on first and then each audio source, as you turn on each audio source you end up with the 'thump' sound from the power being applied to each audio source that gets transmitted down the line.

John, I was fast asleep and then you woke me up with this very interesting show and tell. Sure, lets have more on your electronic design build projects. My father, a ham radio hobbyist, was into that area of design build and this brings back some nice memories of being the son and gofer. And you shouldn't worry over much about your first video's deletion. On a show and tell like this not much has to be rebuilt if you need to repeat and retell - consider it a rehearsal. You must have heard that one approach is illustrated in the old book Mythical Man-Month, Chapter 11. Plan to Throw One Away, by Fred Brooks - so one got thrown away.
