Maybe it was the head gear and the amateur gloves. But the old aj now seems scared to enter a firefight preferring to keep distance and jab when he does get hit hard he seems to get crumpled The new zhang is massively heavier at 280, has much heavier hands, has an extremely high accuracy and is absolutely devious capable of reading an opponent and setting up traps and has pretty much dominated most of his matches yes even the hrgovic one I watched both of these guys recent fights and it is very clear that zhang wins
Actually Zhang is even slower than AJ and is a concrete shoed guy that throws like 1 big punch per hour. AJ would aim and slam his fist right through his skull, permanently ending the career of the old Zhang.
Zhang is a lot bigger 50lb's now and hits a lot harder. Joshua was landing some nice jabs but was getting hit by Zhang's straight left. If Zhang hit Joshua with his straight left punches now Joshua would get knocked out even easier than Joe Joyce did. It must be noted that in the amateurs a clean punch is is only worth 1 point no matter how hard the punch is or the damage. 2012. Olympic games in London.
Close fight. Would be good to see them in the pros next year.
He’s not quite there yet. Give it another 5 years.
Great to see this fight,I had no idea they had met in the amateur ranks.
Wow,great boxing! Anthony Joshua is all class! I am sure he'l winner!
Nice to see this 2 gentlement to a match in a Pro level.
Zhang looked more like a fighter then
We all look better we were young. We mature mentally though
Zhang is better now, needed time to get better, same with AJ.
Неплох Чжан😊👍
Joshua was better at boxing then than he is now
Ha, ha. I was just thinking that😂w
Seems more fluid, bro thinks to much these days, I reckon he forgets he's got the goods
That’s absolute bullshit
I think he had much better habits and was more crisp on defense back then. I’d love to see him go back to some of that.
You can’t box the same way as an amateur and as a pro. Ask boxing coaches 😊.
They are going to do it again.... Let's Go!!!
Went on to rob the guy in the final.
But fought very well in this one. Zhang looks so much bigger now. Be interesting to see them fight in the pros
Didn’t know AJ scored himself on all 3 cards in the final that’s wild
The judges robbed the final and they rigged the savon fight simple as
AJ today will ko Zhang with no problem cause he involved as a fighter more then Zhang did.
He couldn't KO Usyk or Ruiz; two far smaller men. In fact he got KOd by Ruiz.
@@gibgunI'm actually just finding out that he scored himself 😂..... People are clowns bro 😂
People don't even remember these guys started from the bottom. See where they are now.
I would like see Carl froch fight zhang always something negative to say about Joshua . Look what Zhang did to joe Joyce polled him into the ground
What is up with all the cuts ffs...going from 2:37 to 2:41 then back to 2:33....wow.
It would probably be the same outcome if they fought now
definitely the same outcome
I feel like this fight would go totally different this time around
So Joshua already fought and knocked down Zhang as well as Joyce as amateurs? Hes got more scalps to his name than I realized.
Great watch. Their styles haven't changed much just a bit more refined. Zhang has less movement now and I guess more power.
AJ looked quick here
He was probably 20-25 pounds lighter here
he is younger and lighter
Memang seorang AJ sejak amatiran sudah sangat kelihatan bakatnya😍😍😍
AJ was way better in his amateur stages, look at the way he was moving
So was wilder, it’s called age. Maybe you’d know if you trained for more than a decade
You alright mate?
no he wasn't hahahah my days another arm chair fan! his fundamentals are clearly no where near as good as now
That's because he had a head guard
In the pros you don't have those protections lol
@@sw1000xghe knocked Zhang down despite them having the protection of headguards... Serious power...
they should fight again after decades
Two different fighters today.. both are more mature and not so fidgety
Joshua will still fuck him up
Both filled out on more juice since this? Usually happens when they come away from stricter testing
Zhang is more skilled now but he's also much older. By the time AJ vs Zhang gets made Zhang would be 41.
Nah, he has the same skill. The same short right hook that dropped Hrgovic. I think AJ stops him now in the professional fight.
@@universalnihi8374 High risk, low reward
Zhang was 28, in his prime, and had already won a silver medal at the 2008 Olympics when Joshua had barely started boxing. Joshua was only 22 and had only been boxing for 4 years. Everything was in Zhangs favor yet he still lost
Who else has Anthony Joshua not fought or had a duel with apart from George Foreman 😂
I’d like to see a rematch right now after Zhang KO’d Wilder.
50/50 fight if they should share the ring again 😮⭐️😎💪
They both look way bigger now😅
Joshua is the biggest name in HW boxing right now
AJ surely had better stamina when he was less bulky. And clearly still had his power. Im not really sure what was to be gained by bulking himself up so much.
Pro & amateur - different worlds.
It was mostly for brand image and sponsors but he has lost some bulk since Ruiz 1 and looks less muscle bound with better endurance
Nah, maybe he looked more ripped but he's still as muscular as a body builder. But yea how could u compare that, in the pros is mostly 12x3min how much was this, 3x3min? But i know lessmuscles in this case is actually better.@@rrageneral1499
I think genes have a big part to play too. It’s hard for people of African descent to gain size.
@@Dummypass That's a nonsense. The gene pool of Africans & those of African descent is pretty wide & varied.
If we had the new Olympic rules with no headguards then i think AJ would have been in serious trouble.
久しぶりに見に来た
@1:30 The right hook that shook Wilder
Here after Zhang fkd Wilder up...
Zhang and Joshua should fight again soon.
Same result that corona virus is old
@@wrathbrisket5801 who knows, let the fight happen.
or he should fight dubois.. good fights in the heavyweight division.
Zhang has improved since then. The knockdown comes from a poor stance of Zhang AJ looked fearless, relentless back then. Took the fight to Zhang and won. 💪🏻
Anthony joshua hasn't been this aggressive in at least five years😂. Looks like anthony feels a bit more adventurous once he gets head gear on.
But he was far more aggressive than this in his early pro career too, nothing to do with headgear.
@98coxl Ever since the ruiz loss, I haven't seen it. Have you?
@@matthowell8985 the Pulev fight was pretty aggressive, either way again, nothing to do with headgear.
@@98coxl so what does it have to do with? In your opinion? I'm sure we can agree there is a certain spark missing from joshua these days.
Headgear? More like psychological.
Nice to see to Zhang earlier fights.
Zhang fans - all you need is power.
I say it is all bullshit. Zhang is an amazing fighter no doubt about it but AJ is a different kind of animal. When they meet again, Zhang is gonna get schooled really bad, much worse than they first met. AJ has grown, improved and evolved since his last loss. AJ and Usyk are the two best havyweights right now and no one comes close not even Fury.
Dude, quit being delusional. AJ may be a favorite in this one but saying „he’s a different kind of animal” is just ridiculous lol
@@polishsausage648 Because he is bro. I really like both fighters. AJ really has made leaps and stepped up his game after his setbacks. A lot of people had really doubted him saying that he's done, he's gonna get destroyed by Ngannou or even the guy that almos beat Fury. But he finished them both in a dominant fashion and proved all his naysayers wrong.
@@joefilms2775 I agree that he would mop the floor with Fury if that fight ever happens of course. I just don't see him being so many levels above like you tried to portray. But everyone is entitled to their opinions so all good
I can see it going both ways. The margins are smaller than you think, all kinds of variables besides inherent skill can affect the outcome.
That KD didn`t hurt Zhang. He was just off balance, he winded wild punches seconds before.
would be a different fight in the pros. without those pillows and headgear, ZZ being 50 lbs heavier now... 1 straight left will make Joshua get the bambi legs
But one straight right put Zhang down WITH headgear
@@antoniomatthews4459 ZZ is 50 lbs bigger now meanwhile Joshua got KTFO by a 5'10 tub of lard.
@@lukeh6403 AJ beat zhang already. Get over it.
@@ronj7658 lol Ruiz KOed AJ. get over it.
@lukeh6403 And AJ beat him in an immediate rematch making him the 3rd heavyweight champion to regain his belt in an immediate rematch in all of boxing history
Can tell its zhang straight away. He has the shoulder movement thing. Almost munching up. Quite unique
This fight means nothing today, you cant compare amateur fights with professional fights.
Nistor destroyed Joshua in the amateurs and Nistor now wouldnt last a more than 2 rounds vs Joshua, AJ would absolutely demolish Nistor now.
New ''Ruiz moment'' incoming and hype will splatter all over the canvas very soon same as so called ''biggest puncher ever'' Wilder few days ago, Cojanu did better vs Parker than Hype Job Wilder.
AJ would beat Zhang now...
@@harsha1989able Maybe but it really doesn't matter anymore, this is very overrated era of boxing, it has potential but unfortunately they are all more on social media than in the ring.
needs to happen in the pros now
So Joshua actually beat Zhang before at a time when he wasn’t even that good 🤔
Neither were that good. Zhang got better too 😮
True. After this Joshua got better, but still got schooled by a cruiser weight, twice
Everyone knows Fury don't want fight AJ.
Zhang wins, this quick high stamina AJ no longer exists, instead we have a slow bodybuilder that Usyk was able to dance around
This young AJ had a chin and wasn’t afraid to brawl , while the old aj has been terrified of letting go after getting his ass handed to him by ruiz's hand speed. Maybe it was the head gear and the amateur gloves. But the old aj now seems scared to enter a firefight preferring to keep distance and jab when he does get hit hard he seems to get crumpled
The new zhang is massively heavier at 280, has much heavier hands, has an extremely high accuracy and is absolutely devious capable of reading an opponent and setting up traps and has pretty much dominated most of his matches yes even the hrgovic one
I watched both of these guys recent fights and it is very clear that zhang wins
Actually Zhang is even slower than AJ and is a concrete shoed guy that throws like 1 big punch per hour.
AJ would aim and slam his fist right through his skull, permanently ending the career of the old Zhang.
need these 2 to run it back
Zhang is a lot bigger 50lb's now and hits a lot harder.
The scoring of effective shots and the amount of damage is not taken into consideration like in the professionals.
In proper amateur scoring this bout was close. One of the commentators was biased and clueless. He was just an AJ "Blow Boy".
Stay mad
next fight for zhang joshua. zhang is a dangerous fighter but he dwindle at the end. he has also fast hands.
Is that the 2008 Olympic championship match? Why people saying it’s amateur bout?
Olimpic boxing is called amateur. To make a difference from proffesional. It have nothing to do with level, it is about specific format.
Dang I thought this was click bait.
Joshua underrated for sure.
The meaning this fight has now gained
"Chinese boxer" "Chinese boxer" the white announcers kept saying, but when it comes to the other guy is not "Black boxer", "black boxer" , why? they both have names
@editcomments why tho?
Joshua was called from the UK multiple times. Chinese is a nationality, not a race. You're confusing Asian and Chinese.
funny how White countries always use minority people to represent them lol
basketball
football
boxing
everything
Алекс. С тех пор Джошуа в скорости прибавил, а Джилей - потерял. Но они ещё встретятся.
AJ v. Big Bang in Saudi 🔥
Be good to see these guys fight now!!
lets see it in the pros will be a nice one
never knew they had this amateur fight. Wanna see them fighting as pros soon.
По превью подумал, что это Барак Обама😂.
im here because of the zhang vs wilder fight hype,
