I want to get into may so bad but she’s genuinely so hard for me to play. I’ll play chipp and Millia doing crazy combos that send me across the screen but mays charge inputs are pretty tough for me.
uh, dont know much fighting game language but what you can do is charge that move as soon as it goes out, like holding 4 and backdashing then once the dash frames are over you can hit 6 and may’s totsugeki move to throw it out immediately, the way they charge the inputs is they do the input as soon as a move goes out to make sure a follow up happens as soon as the frames of that other attack ends
Charge inputs are a hassle to learn but you just need to practise and get use to it.
Definitely worth it though, and it'll take a month at most to have all the habits locked down
Press button and immediately hold 1 (downback) to charge both dolphins. You can charge and elect not to dolphin, or delay the dolphin for different timings.
I really feel like the one guy who thought charge inputs are easy and could barely do a quarter circle. I don't know why I feel the opposite when it comes to charging inputs. May charge is also half a second which is forgiving so make sure you are always holding back in combo string and buffering certain moves can help you with your charge. Like 5h can be held back on so you can do a basic dolphin loop
