Great video, but I didn't really get how to bypass actually, did I miss something ?

The bypass eliminates the firewall so running scans and making changes in the ECU is possible. Without it, you’re limited to just reading a small amount of data.

What I would consider doing is continuing to drive my 2002 300m Special and refusing to buy any FCA crap if it ever does die.

Drive what gives you the most smiles per gallon 😃
I can only speak for me…1st Alfa…this SQV is far from crap 🤷🏽‍♂️ The design, quality of the interior (leather, alcantara, carbon fiber) and its fast AF.

They actually make us better at what we do 💪🏽 “I’d like to thank FCA for believing in me when no one else did. And to my parents…” 😂

    The wheel thing...
(On my 19 giulia TI sport carbon)
Just turn it on(running), start center. Turn it lock to lock...back to center...off and back on. Weather or not this helps with your brake issues idk.. but it definitely does the thing for a battery disconnect for example.
For the comfort windows...I haven't tried it but the interwebz suggest you have to change the country code.
    In mutliecuscan...
Don't forget to disable that dumbass seatbelt chime.😊
It will still ding a couple times at first but It will quit after that. And the dash light still does the normal thing.

Thanks for sharing the country code change…I’ll try it 👍🏽
Remember, the steering wheel reset method doesn’t work for hard codes.

Yea... It takes Money to Save Money! I agree. I bought the top Don for the 3 year free update and the special functions updates, which they have as a highlight. All new cars need to have the high-level scanners to navigate through the modules. Times are changing. This is way better though because 2-3 fixes Pay for this investment! Great video! Thanks!

My BMWs and especially this Alfa have taught me that high level scanners are a must! Generic code readers are “generic” for a reason. This investment has paid for itself already! Thanks for your input 🙏🏽

sounds restrictive to me. so a code reader, from parts store couldn't clear a dfc? Autel and Autel only? all models or just the top shelf code/diagnostic tools? I thought VW was bad...

    • @EuroAutoEnthusiast
      @EuroAutoEnthusiast  5 місяців тому

Autel isn’t the only brand authorized - Bosch, AllData, Snap-On, even ICON from Harbor Freight and a few others. 🚫 I don’t recommend generic code readers anyway because they are “generic” modern European cars like BMW, Alfa, Mercedes, have way too many modules and computerized systems. As mentioned in the video, my scan tool and app could READ the codes, but the SGW blocked clearing codes, performing relearns, etc. which is what I needed to perform.
