I think "fasting" can also be applied on several habits like fasting from social media, fasting for thinking negative thoughts, fasting from speaking ungodly words, etc. :) Day by day, we can all be perfected by God's grace and love. Also, one of the ways on how we can all receive God's power is by making our hearts ready and willing to accept the truth of Jesus by His Words.
The desert experience! Many times we don't want to go through the desert.. I am in a desert right know, for the past 7 months... It been a time of discipline and being humbled... It's been painful experience..... Thank you ladies for pointing out that it is necessary for me... I have been crying to God to deliver me sooner and especially my sister who has not had a job for 8yrs,we have been crying to God for deliverance... The training has been long and hard especially for my sister but God is still good... I don't understand why this had to be this long, but I know God's promises shall come to pass.... One of you ladies spoke about the grace of God sustaining the children of Israel from the plagues, and that is how this past seven months have been, even in the midst of inflation, his grace has carried me and I have never lacked...Praise be to the God of the hills and the valleys.... He said we will not want even in the valley of the shadow of death, therefore we will not fear.
It's hard to lie to a being (Holy Spirit) who already knows what you are feeling and is just waiting for you to be real about it and release it into his custody... I love your videos 💕

I didnt want to just stop eating because I was told to because my daughter and I are going through a lot. I have never done it before. I wanted an understanding that spoke to me. Fasting and prayer puts us in this posture.... Reminds me of the scripture, draw near to God and Be will draw near to you.... I have been one in the past to bring controversies on fasting, and many times when I did, I was doing it religiously, counting the hours to the end of the day.... Starving is the word... I used to depend on corporate fast, I thought with my weakness for food I will not be able on my own, but now I understand, and know that I can do all things, the Holy Spirit is my helper... What if you can't fast physically, as a diabetic I cannot fast from food..wouldn't giving up some earthly desires such as TV or social media and spending time in prayer and Bible reading be the same
Sis, fasting isn't always or necessarily *abstaining from food* - Just like our brother or sister here 👆🏼 said. Also it is largely denying your flesh and giving up that which you're so attached to such as: *Social Media, Netflix or TV in general, sweets, Chewing gum etc etc etc*
