I have an iPhone 13 and I use the lens that is active when you load the camera app, in my case it's the second one but I don't know about the iPhone 12. Either way, please make sure you watch the last part of my video since I have my reservations about this product and I don't think I can recommend it too much. I had a lot of difficulty with it.

when you can't hold the camera steady what else can you do?
i think ur supposed 2 align bracket centrally 1st, then attach lens. If unbranded, prolly Chinese knock-off.

私も同じ問題を抱えてる。ネジを締めすぎると折れるのではないかと思います。
is the lens zoom fixed on 22x? am i allowed to control the zoom? for eg. i wanted to zoom until 18x
The zoom is fixed. The wheel will focus the images but it will not change the magnification. You are stuck with 22X.
