I always tell my children that you can go anywhere in the World, but always return to Singapore for this is our Motherland!! We are Blessed to be Singaporeans 🙏❤️
I visited Singapore several years ago and was struck by how well everything works. It’s just a well-run, highly organized, prosperous city. It’s clean (not a single candywrapper on the ground anywhere), safe (didn’t feel threatened even walking alone at night), has great public transportation, lovely pockets of green spaces everywhere, fabulous food scene, and conveniences for its citizens, among others. Singapore is just the place to ride out the next four bleak years in America.
Singapore may be "clean" only at areas where tourists usually go. If you go to some residential areas, rubbish is strewn all over the place and left unswept for days and even weeks.
You are welcome to come back again anytime at your convenience. To keep Singapore clean needs everybody’s help and effort, cannot just rely on the cleaners. Must also educate new citizens.
Singapore is not expensive...we have one of the highest wage in the world. If you eat in restaurant every day and drive a car, yes, you will feel the strain. I have witness a family of 4 each has a car...i asked myself why? There is no winter in Singapore, best public TPT system, everything you need are within 3.5 Km distant in average. Our government flats are well built, safe and beautifully layout.....i travelled to more than 30 cities for work..i will say, Singapore is NOT the most expensive country to live in the world.
I lived in Singapore with my parents way back in the late 60's. I return this year (2nd June2024) for a visit with my son. I was amazed at the change. It is a beautiful country, very modern but expensive nowadays. Some of the sights are astounding. Sad that it all changed from the 60's memories but wow. Singapore should be so proud of what it has become
Just sad for him only as he only recall from his memories of 60s and that already not in Singapore anymore. Singapore has already transformed with a new identity and I understand quite a lot of Singaporean left In the 60s and 70s to US, UK, Australia and Canada with high hope in these countries.
@@rosidahariff2365Have you ever in your life as a Singaporean, climbed the overhead pedestrian crossing, you will have noticed this feature. Unless you don’t use pedestrian crossings, I have nothing to say ! 😂😂
8:38 - Those are zig-zag lines. They're not there to increase driver attentiveness. They indicate that there is a pedestrian crossing ahead and no overtaking, parking, or waiting is allowed on that section of the road. 9:32 - It was a police station a long time ago (prior to 1980), after that it was designated a heritage site and turned into a shopping arcade. Between 1999 & 2012, it was called MITA & MICA building and eventually renamed back into "Old Hill Street Police Station" even though it no longer operates as one. Very cool looking building in the drab of the city.
actually he's not wrong. those zig-zag lines had being designed that way cos it plays a trick on the brains of the driver (misconception of road narrowing).
0:40 this is the bukit panjang lrt line, not mrt. because of space constrain, the tracks are built very close to the housing and thus the window will "mist" to protect residence privacy. this is a feature that is only for the bukit panjang lrt line, not any other mrt or lrt lines in singapore the feature however, is faulty, especially for many of the older trains so they are permanently "mist" instead of only misting when required
Yes. Bt panjang LRT sucks, not because of poor maintenance or neglect but because of its mere existence. It gives LTA a good excuse of providing poor bus service in Bt Panjang. If we can all see the tapping of ez card, we will probably see most users of this LRT are centered around CCK and Teck Whye and get off at Bt Panjang Interchange, not many users are in the actual Bt Panjang region.
