What I hate is that quite often you are not allowed to hand your partially used ticket to someone else. You have paid for the space and should be able to let someone used your expired time.
I always hand my left over time to someone else
@@dixiedoos3512 So do I, unless it has my registation number on it, you daren't. The recipient will get a fine.
Its little wonder shopping is down in town centres. These firm's are super aggressive, and basically want to trap unfortunate drivers. Its gives people no insensitive to go on a nice shopping trip, and has ruined local commerce.
At £50 a pop its still an incredible money maker. The car owner is a cash cow for local authorities and private companies.
Private parking fines are not 'fines' at all, they are just an invoice. Just send a response that you do not accept their invoice.
A parking fine for a private company is an invoice not a fine, don't pay it!!
Exactly! Wheel clamps can be easily removed with basic tools. Just don't respond to any requests received.
Private sector have only adopted the type of deceptive practises the local authorities have been doing for decades. In 2001 I was instructed by an official employed by Bexley council to park in a certain place and then ticketed for doing so by his colleague.
I'm a stubborn bastard, never paid the so-called fine and never will, but the point I'm trying to make is "monkey see, monkey do". The blame lies fairly and squarely at local government's feet.
The biggest news on the planet is CANADA why so little coverage??????????

They have covered it.
If it's a private company, just ignore any letters they send. Don't respond in any way. They can't actually force you to pay a penny.
Yet the private firms are still starting at £100, with no reduction period. Are they not acting illegally and fraudulently then?
