Hello friends! I'd just like to quickly expand more on my rant about the TSW5 Mildmay Line at 2:19. I probably should've stated that I was aware of the route being developed by a single developer, though as I didn't know that much information I didn't want to reveal more about it in case I was wrong. For that reason I did understand why the same model of the 378 was used, though at the same I was pointing out the issue with TSW as a game altogether, as it has a lot material taken straight from TSC which I feel doesn't provide much of a 'new game' experience as DTG claim. I apologise for the confusion.
got to correct aswell, the 378 is entirely new, can tell from the front being different in some of the images shown + there's proof of the model being 3D scanned on Incredibles facebook, think it was on a Q&A post.
I was pleased that it was only £11.99 for owners of the 375/377 Enhancement Pack and because the original DTG version was utter pants. But there was a very good freeware patch that did the trick for me. I do wish there was more building of new rolling stock for TSC rather than a stream of enhancements for traction that's already in the game though.
indeed a very tasteful video from Lord Sir Yawwith the 489s member of the pricks. I shall be eating this video for dinner and it will be very filling. jolly good show Sir here's a toast to your efforts in overthrowing the Tyrant Armweak underpowerhouse!!
I see Yawwie's copying and pasting his opinions again. LOL. On a serious note, I bought the pack and was really pleased with it for the price. Not because it's exceptional, but because the default 378 is SO BAD, that ANYTHING to make it better would be amazing. This pack makes the train drivable (the original had zero running sounds. It was completely silent when coasting), and I am grateful for that. I don't think it's "wank" or "terrible", but I do agree with you on a few points. I don't see a problem with copying and pasting sounds from other packs, as they are all Electrostars, so the real ones are incredibly similar, but you are right about the AD/DC motor sounds and the cutting out point. Also yes, I do agree with you about flange and brake squeal. Richard has been using the same ones for a long time now and I think it would be nice if he recorded a few new ones and rolled those out to a whole bunch of packs. On that point, while you criticise AP for charging for the same thing multiple times, on the plus side, I don't know of any developers who so routinely go back and update years old packs with brand new features FOR FREE. When you consider that, it actually makes the packs much better value for money than they initially seem.
As an American, I was actually thrown off by a bit by the traction motors on the 375, mostly because my home railroad (the Long Island Railroad) has an EMU built by Bombardier in the early 2000s (the M7) that sounds EXACTLY LIKE the class 375...
Ai upscaling really crossed the line for me with this pack. I really dont like the use of Ai at all because it enables corners to be cut left and right
At least they recorded new motor sounds, however I do think that the pulsing change around 25-30mph should be a lot more audible from the passenger view. As with the electric whirring sound from the 375/7, it's just like when they updated the run sounds on their 150 packs with those from the 156, it just doesn't sound right, especially when braking into stations. I feel that AP should use better equipment to record their sounds, as currently they do sound pretty flat without using spatial sound, I think AP implemented and edited their sounds with spatial sound enabled on their headphones as the audio does appear a lot clearer and more immersive with spatial sound enabled.
We are still missing part of the East London line after 9 years of the 378 being in TSC. Strange, Romford to Upminster I can understand. Also, now no one has an excuse not to make a Class 376 for TSC.
(repost of an older comment jsyk) if i remember correctly, i once pointed out that the light clusters on the VP185 HST enhancement pack were incorrect by commenting on their video, and surprisingly they fixed the incorrect light clusters after i made that comment! (just-so-you-know, this was before armwheel poweredtraction disabled comments on their youtube videos)
Also not gonna lie speaking of the eletrcostars. Really wish someone could make a new model for the 2nd gen electrostar because of the silly wrong layout for the destination screens on the sides. Now it bugs me to no end 😭.
the last (and only) AP thing I got was the Class 40 (which is now offsale.. I think? I don't know) ..the installer did not work after like 10 tries, had to restart my computer and try another 10 times to get it working which is why I'm not getting any more AP products
Just something I've ought to mention. The TSW Mildmay Line was funded by just one developer, it makes sense if Johannes Hartman used the base TSC DTG model as a starting point as it would have cost less than having to produce a totally new model from scratch (still beats the 377 model by a long shot anyway) As for this AP EP, it's mediocre at best (apparently Richard is now starting to use AI to upscale really crap looking textures)
Yeah that was what I heard. I can understand that which is fine, however, for me it's more the problem of how DTG are marketing TSW as a new simulation game when it's obvious countless assets and other bits of source material are just copied from TSC. Having everything produced from scratch would definitely create a more of a unique experience for the game. As for the EP, I agree. Don't know how AI is supposed to be much of a benefit, but hey, he can keep at it.
I will agree with you on that one, I recall Matt saying at the beginning of TSW development that it would not have TSC assets and that really did not age well
The dev of the mildmay line did do a scan of the real 378 to make sure his model is correct. dont know where you got it from that this is the TSC model. I doubt the 2010 377 would be easily ported into unreal engine
It's a lot easier than you probably think it is. If the source geometry exists in a modelling program you can very easily put it into a FBX file and then put that into UE
It's even more egregious on the HST pack (because it's done for the back of the exterior cab and it looks even worse than it did on the old model) but the (I'm assuming) AI upscaling(?) on some of the detailing just looks awful. How he thought that was a good idea, or that it looked even remotely acceptable on products sold for these prices is beyond me but that's just AP for you I guess.
TSW is thay far down the toilet they're now adding Thomas to it Maybe a Meridan for the MML? Maybe a 91 for the ECML? Or a Voyager or IET for the WCML? Or how about more than just a 323 for that Manchester Airport line? Something like a 185, a sprinter or a civity??? But no we got Thomas the tank engine despite the fact they claim to be making the game as realistic as possible 💀💀
Very Good Video Again AP Using Rubbish sounds over and over again Getting bit of a Joke But Armstrong Money Grabbers Couldn't Give 2 Monkeys as long as There getting bought 🤣
I mean, AP will be AP at this point, they're very predictable and at the same time not in my view, I personally took it as a big surprise that they even released something after the MTU HST pack as colossal a project that was (and still is until the Valenta and VP185 units are out). As it stands, another enhancement pack I won't be purchasing. I personally want AP to focus on older locomotives first, get them done and out of the way, then move on to more modern stock. Will they do that?? Nope... Why? Because it's AP and their stubborn like that.. All for the Money and None for the Community I guess.

Its okay

You know its going to be a good video when Yawwie is reviewing a AP Enhancement pack

Gary has a train named after him in Train Sim. Now I've seen everything.

NAHH BUT THAT OPENING TRANSITION WAS SICC AF
Amtrak Stantyhouse has returned 🔥🔥
Geoff marshall mentioned you in the comments of his sudbury and harrow road station tour
Nice. Happy he enjoyed it haha!
Merry Christmas yawwie, this was a great video 🙃
We are still missing part of the East London line after 9 years of the 378 being in TSC. Strange, Romford to Upminster I can understand. Also, now no one has an excuse not to make a Class 376 for TSC.
I was absolutely waiting for this video!! 😅
Babe wake up, Yawwie uploaded
no im SO MAD it wasnt a 376/378 pack!!!!
So nobody is gonna talk about that transition at the start-!

we are so back

I realise that this is better than dovetails version which stiiiiiinks
Gonna be honest as someone who lives in Scotland I thought we already had this & got so confused when I saw the announcement
Another bad thing about the TSW mildmay line is that they're cutting the route short at Willesden Junction!
You better be shitting me. They're actually having a laugh
Next up: Thomas The Tank Engine enhancement pack because TSW5
Will you make a new enhancement pack with samt like you did for the 455 or nah
I bet you in 4 years they're going to release the Class 376 "Enhancement Pack" which'll require a 375 😭
Just something I've ought to mention. 5:54 Yea c'mon not the rip off compressor sounds which actually sound more like a JR E235 series compressor as that one DOES NOT have the air hiss.

If they've got the source model for the 378, anything can be ported into unreal
@mrtransportguy8824 if its a really old model its gonna look terrible, especially with the interiors. Why even port it when TSW has 3 electrostars
It's a lot easier than you probably think it is. If the source geometry exists in a modelling program you can very easily put it into a FBX file and then put that into UE
FINALLY SOMEONE WHO COMPLAINED ABOUT THE TERRIBLE TSW 377 MODEL AAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
the richer get richer
Will you be reviewing their new HST packs as well then? Or waiting until all versions are released then reviewing them?
I'll likely be wating until they're all released. Chances are I'll be dead by then though
@ ah I see. Looking for whenever they are all released. 🤣
Armweak Powerstation

Maybe the packs being popular suggests they aren't as bad as you're making out?
I mean, AP will be AP at this point, they're very predictable and at the same time not in my view, I personally took it as a big surprise that they even released something after the MTU HST pack as colossal a project that was (and still is until the Valenta and VP185 units are out). You do realise the Mildmay line is worked on by a single dev right?
Yes. Though I was also pointing out the issues with TSW altogether.
