@@tysonb3568 Venice has always been the more rugged and bohemian counterpart to Santa Monica. I personally don't mind the homeless being part of their equation - on some level, Venice has been Santa Monica's toilet bowl.
Lived in Santa Monica from 72 thru 83 attending St Monica, Samohi and Pico Tech… but there were no decent jobs, barely making $20K ended up living in NYC from 86 thru 2003 making six figures as a programmer/analyst with only City College and Nite school… Shudder to think what life would have been kind of I didn’t get our of the city and the state. And every year I went back to visit my parents it got worse and worse… crime, drugs, prostitution… the Rodney King riots that destroyed Westwood as the place to go on the Friday Nite… and 2019 the BLM looting on the Old Santa Monica Outdoor mall with that Asian lady’s “eye glass” store being trashed by vandals… my last trip was to bury my mother in 97 haven’t been back since and no plans ever to go back… and half the kids I graduated from Samohi with… left the State. What a shame and disgrace as it will only get worse.
Absolutely, some of the best schools in LA are in Santa Monica and Brentwood which is right next door. Especially you are an outdoor family, this is the prefect location.
Looking to move to santa monica but i want to stay there for about 3 months to see how i like it and look around for apartments. So far ive found the breeze as the best short term rental option there any recommendations?
Me and my family moving to Santa Monica next year I love the content brother. We’re from Houston Texas. My name is Joedy “Breeze” the Barber.

Thanks, glad you liked it!
It looks cleaned up! Nice to not see anymore homelessness!
What about Venice….🙄
Yea the city is really trying to help with this issue and cleaning up the neighborhoods is a big incentive.
I don’t think it will even go away. It has gotten better in some parts of Venice.

Thanks for sharing your experience.
I’m moving to Santa Monica from DC soon ! I’m so excited but scared about gangs. My son is 10 years old, is this a good place to raise him?
