Amb. Freeman is a great and visionary man, but I must ask this question as he speaks at about minute 22: he noted earlier that "empathy" is important in diplomacy. I agree. What, then, is his position regarding the reported US "benign neglect" of Saddam's incursion into Kuwait...that, by the way, Saddam and his Iraq considered the 19th province of greater Iraq? The Ambassador's answer might address the greater fabric of Western colonial meddling in the region, prior, then (1990), and continuing....
