up here in Canada, the government has now made proposals for new regulations/laws that they want to bring in. one of them is banning cellular trail cams. beyond stupid. another, is banning scopes on crossbows.
I know here in Canada it's hard getting a reasonable priced cellular plan for these trail cams cheapest I came across was 25 bucks a month and if you're running three cams at $75 And on top of that these cameras might be stolen as well as replacing batteries it's just better getting a standard trail cam. I managed to source some cam Park t45 set the sensitivity to mid so it only detects larger animals I don't care about detecting rabbits and squirrels. And put in a 32 gig SD card which I got from Canada computers three for $14 and I bought two packs and the total of six SD cards. I managed to get trail cams for 40 bucks a pop and I got three of them with 30 bucks in SD cards in total without batteries it comes out to about 50 bucks a trail cam so if I lose one AKA gets stolen it's not that much of a loss. The only issue that I have is with alkaline batteries they don't work very well with anything with transistorsin which all modern electronics such as your trail cam consists of they need a good consistent voltage supply you're better off with lithium but lithium batteries are expensive especially double a ones.
The biggest setback I see is the cost. $300 + $10 a month for each camera is still to high. I've heard the $10 a month doesn't give you many photos, you have to go to unlimited @ $20. I've seen only one mfg that makes cameras that work together on one data plan, they sell 4 cameras together, but only 1 transmits to the network, the others communicate with that one. Not sure how effective that is, but it would be nice if you had multiple cameras but only one plan. Unless there's a plan with the cellular carriers that allow multiple ESN's on one plan the previous solution would be the only choice to save on monthly charges.

Best places to hunt are usually remote locations which decreases the likeliness of having cell coverage and it would be great if you could receive your pictures wirelessly even if that was within like 500 yards

So im sure I am like a lot of people who just jumped on the Spypoint train because of their sale....surprise, they suck.....My question is now about the antenna quality between companies. If there is an exodus rep that could respond on if you guys take that into consideration and perhaps if you have done a comparison test with other trail cameras to see if your product performs better than the others. Appreciate any feedback you can provide.
Hi Darren. Great question! Every device certified through Verizon, ATT, or any other carrier has to meet the same antenna specifications! How the shell/case of the actual antenna has next to nothing to do with the performance with omni direction. Carriers force manufacturers to meet a threshold +/- so many db when going through testing. So as long as the device is certified there is very little antenna performance. Now when you include the module HW and circuitry into that discussion, it opens a new can of worms. When you start to look at other cellular devices utilizing direction coverage, the antenna shape will have more to do with it's performance....similar to micro-wave dishes used to transmit data directional over long distances. Also with high gain antennas and/or add on antennas often pushed with cellular trail cameras you have to be cautious of the coax used and the db loss or latency. So I guess, long story short, don't fall for trending marketing gimmicks of something looking "cool"

I run cameras on my properties year around so I have tried about every camera company you can think of I have sent cameras back in for free and paid the maintenance fee just to get them home and have them mess up on me again what camera companies dont under stand is when u have to take one down send it in that is time lost u dont get back I have 3 of the cellular exodus camera and 3 of the ir cameras exodus put out and used them regularly and like every other camera they either went into a mode where it snaps picture after picture until the camera dies or it wont power on or it powers on and says it takes pictures but it doesnt as of now I believe I have 1 exodus ir that I still use but I always double up on my cameras just in case one fails so to answer the question unless exodus wants to send me a couple of cameras that they stand behind to test and see if anything has changed then I would say no.i know what to expect when I buy game cameras because I spend alot of money and alot of time and I am not bashing exodus cameras by any means because like I said every camera has it's time where it messes up and I have came to accept it but I purchased 6 a couple years back and all at one time and to get no more than a couple seasons out of them was a disappointment but yet I know what to expect I dont ask for free hand outside or want to be thought of as taking a free handout but I have spent tons on cameras and sent them back just to spend more money and still loose out on time and that is what sucks.do you guys have a gd product I would say yes is it the best idk because I havent bought anymore since my last encounter when I first seen exodus cameras come to the internet but after I spent over 2 grand on 6 cameras to only have 1 original going that to me is not good odds .but I appreciate the reach out again not bashing you're camera but unless you're products have gotten better and exodus wants to send some for me to test I will cut my losses wild game innovations browning and stealth cams have left a bad taste in my mouth with their products they have sent cameras out to try to replace and keep a good reputation but they dont last idk if it is because it is a China product but every brand has 1 or 2 cameras out of the lot I will buy that stays true and does what they are supposed to.so to me as a man who stands behind his word and give his true honest opinion I have no want to bash or degrade you're product my words come from honest situations that has happened while using you're cameras that is all like I said I am not expecting free cameras or commenting to recieve anything just helping fellow outdoorsman who are looking to purchase items to caution them in the products they spend there hard earned money on.i have spent more than youre average person on youre cameras and everyone else's cameras so I have proof to back my opinions but it is up to the people at exodus to step in and do what they think they should do I am not asking for anything I just am throwing out info for future reference for people looking to purchase is all but hey if exodus wants to send some cameras out I will put them to the test and let you know how they do for sure like I did the moultrie team but that is for the team at exodus to decide what they want to do with their products
So do you have to pay a bill for this to be hooked through Verizon
Hey Hank, great question- since it is a connected device and on the Verizon network, there is a service charge for the camera to transmit photos to your phone. If you have anymore questions feel free to reply to this comment or send us an email at info@exodusoutdoorgear.com
Exodus Trail Cameras will these work with straight talk wireless or dose it work with any carrier?
I don't have a cell camera, want one though. But the 4th may isn't true for all. My camera is out back off my house. I just walk out and get the card. No gas or anything spent. Just batteries.
Screen shot the photos....no data taken
I “smashed” the subscribe button, it broke my screen. Can I get a camera for free?
Warren Crow 😂
Make a Bluetooth camera with out cell phone coverage
Hi guys... I really like your videos. Have you ever thought of offering multi-carrier SIM cards together with your cameras? If you are interested in this option, just let me know. BR, Patrick
You say battery life is 1/4 best case. 1/4th of what?
Regards,
Marky
He said 1/4 of a non cell camera.
@@blitz8619 Which is how long?
John1911 Gun Blog my non cell cameras usually last about a whole season if I don’t take video they will last the whole season.
@@John1911 if you are running Energizer Ultimate lithiums you could get 2+ seasons out of 8 batteries. I have loved them and wont use anything else. Walmart was running a sale, $8.99 on them recently.
Martin Ollis thank you.

Damn you mean I am watching a promo not just a dude who knos his shit and giving me advice. And I know cameras or monitoring cams outdoor for quick sight security but I dont have DOD funding my recce anymore.
Surely it still costs in time and gas when you have to go replace the batteries 4x as much as the other cameras???!!!! Sold yourself short there buddy.
Don't buy one of these. I just did and regret it. 8 batteries for these are 15 bucks. And last like 1 week
