Flair has been my idol since I was about 5 years old. I’m almost 46 now. He is the embodiment of what a Pro Wrestler should be. Their will never be anyone close to Flair in the 80’s and 90’s when he was so on top of his game. His matches with Steamboat and Rhodes are some of the best matches and feuds in Pro Wrestling history. I love seeing him there at 73. I got a chance to meet him when I lived in Las Vegas. I worked in Valet. I opened up a limo and out pops Flair. We weren’t allowed to interact too much with celebrities but I knew parking cars in 118 degree weather wasn’t for me. That happened to be my last day. I walked him in to the hotel, opened all the doors for him, told him I had tickets to WCW Thunder and Clash of the Champions (2 night event) and that I bought a ticket to see him. He said “thank you brother! we appreciate your support.” I said “is there anything else you need.” His response “gotta go brother!” He was arrogant, not very friendly, but I wouldn’t of wanted it any other way. I remember Bobby Heenan came out to screw with the crowd the next night. Heenan said “All you Ham and Eggers shutup, or I’ll have this whole building cleared. I’ve got connections ya know!” it was classic Heenan. A few minutes later the WCW crew counted us down and we were LIVE. I’ve been to many wrestling events but this was the best one. Everyone back then knew how to work the crowd and get heat. It was awesome!

He took the slam but he's not getting up from it without several minutes rest. That last match he did he was unconscious more than half the match. It was horrible to watch cause it felt there was a 50% risk he'd die inside the ring... and 49% risk he'd die outside of it during the match. He luckily held on that 1% survival chance.

Flair's muscle memory is incredible, you can literally see it in every move, his footwork etc.. The product of literally thousands and thousands of matches, working over 300 days/year and some of those double-shots on weekends. Say what you will about it being pre-determined, but the time, energy and conditioning required to be able to maintain that schedule is incredible. It was total chaos! We had great seats only a couple of rows above ringside, and I remember huge cups of icy soda pop, popcorn and food flying everywhere! It was freaking awesome!
