Thanks for this man. I just started playing NHL 25 and I’m new to the franchise as a whole. I’ve played 6 seasons with my Flyers thus far, made the playoffs 4 times, won the cup once!
There is a conversation option in either the morale tab for each player or on the main franchise screen, it should be the second tab from the top. You can only set season goals in the preseason
@RyebreadSN okay so when setting them is short term or long term goals better , cuz what im doing is I set season long goals for the players in my top 6
Great video dude! I learned a lot. However, can you explain to me why guys in my franchise are asking 17-18 in free agency? Guys like Marner. How do you get that number down? It's crazy.
The best way to get the number down currently is the negotiation feature. It's likely because the cap has gone up and they are asking for X% of the cap so the number may seem super high, but keep an eye on that % of cap number in the offer contract screen. If you're in Free Agency specifically, they are always going to ask for inflated contracts. If you're bold enough, you can wait and each week they can adjust their demands. If they're sitting out there for a while, keep an eye on the Teams Interested and if nobody is interested you might be able to wait them out
Im trying to figure out who to use for my first franchise mode in nhl 25 im thinking capitals try to give ovi one last chance to win the cup and if I can't get that accomplished start the rebuild in Washington making that team younger its gonna tough cuz of some of those big contracts they have is gonna make it a big challenge, and the other 2 teams I was thinking was Columbus and Stl Blues just need help deciding
That Capitals challenge sounds fun! Definitely a good path to take and Ovi is always a cheat code in the sim so it would be fun to use him. Columbus has a lot of young elite talent you just need to manage properly so I'd rank them over St. Louis personally
Unfortunately, I’ll be skipping for the 3rd year in a row. Maybe if 26 has improved franchise & updated be a pro I’ll give it a try and hopefully you’ll make another one then without the bugs but from what I’ve seen these past few years and especially these past few months it’s been a train wreck and made me glad that I skipped out on the past few nhl games
What about the San Jose Sharks? Celebrities and Will Smith can be scary or are the Sharks are still stagnating in rebuilding? BTW it's my favorite team. Any tips on them?
Sharks are another interesting team to rebuild! You have some elite talent and need to guide them and surround them. I'd caution tanking too much more because you want these guys to grow ASAP and winning/putting up points is the best way to do that!
Thank you for doing this. I have a hard time understanding some of it in franchise mode. I always play with St Louis Blues. It is my favorite team. The draft part is my problem. What is the difference between top elite, elite low, elite middle? Do you have a social media account so I can ask you questions? My name is Kevin.
To answer your question, it’s the likelihood those players reach their potential. So High Elite means there’s a very good chance he becomes and elite player whereas Low Elite suggests the chances aren’t very good he reaches it but he still does have Elite potential. Medium is just the typical chance they become elite! Great question! You can check the description for my socials!
Thank you so much for this! I’m brand spanking new to NHL
Welcome! Building a franchise is so much fun in the NHL and the additions to the game are much needed. Hope you win plenty of cups!
@@RyebreadSN I am tuned in! There is a possibility I will purchase NHL 25 this weekend. I’m planning on rebuilding the Sharks!
@NYCESARR great choice! Got a long road but will be fun!

That's awesome! Winning the cup is always so tricky. Happy to hear you were able to win one!
I was looking forward to this! Thank you so much!!
Of course! I was going to find your comment and link the video but I’m glad you already found it!
What a great guide! People should also check out your current Franchise mode to see all this in practice!
You won't see too many bigger rebuilds!
How do you go about doing the season goals for the players before the start of the season?
