@@JAKEPAUL_177 ok ,let's start from beginning NYCT has about 400 RCI (at the peak it was about 480). Not every RCI's is part of Emergency Response. Some of them work in yards , probably the majority of them. There is a group of RCI's working on the road, through gap stations (eg. West 4th St station) and terminals( eg. Stillwell Ave ). And finally there is RCI's group working with Trucks , we call them EDV ( my# is EDV 023 ) ...... . And here another division begins. There are two groups. One is "Box St" Guys, the other is Us, Road-Ops. Road-Ops means work trains, special equipment and everything that doesn't fall into the category of passenger trains (revenue ) , and everything else that NYCT wants to use us for.

N2 was repainted into standard refurbished work loco livery as of recently, idk about N1 no one has seen it.
N1 and N2 remain in service , they are like historic diesel
