Who is here in 2024? #edkawalczyk is one of the most energetic and kick ass frontmen of all time. I can't wait for #liveband to come to South Florida, so we can all jam with this amazing band. Rock on guys🤘🤘❤💗💓💞💥💥
Ed Kowalczyk absolutely lost nothing. Great and charismatic performer, great singer. Live, one of the 90's greatest Rockbands.. "Selling the drama" was my favorite and still is. Masterpiece.
It's KoWalcyzk not Kovalczyk and why would expect or consider he would possibly lose anything? Are you referring to his absence from Live for 5/6 odd years when they replaced him with Chris Shinn and released the album The Turn? Because Ed was still touring and performing and making/releasing music the entire time....including performing Live material just minus the Live name and under his own name Ed Kowalcyzk. The Live reunion was truly a financial one...I believe. Chad, Chad and Patrick realized that instead of writing new music and building upon their careers they'd rather play 90's Nostalgia "Summerland" tours were Gen X'rs will shell out $50 a pop to see Live or Everclear or any combo with actually decent artists like an Eve 6 thrown on the bill as openers and just play "the hits" said Gen X'rs grew up with and get paid! People didn't really care to sing along with Shinn for $50...maybe for $20 BUT not $50....for $50 they felt taken advantage of!!! And your dearest "Ed" realized that nobody knew who the FUUUUUUUUUUCK "Ed Kowalcyzk" was so when the Ed Kowalcyzk tour came through town nobody bought tickets!!! And so....based solely financially, whether standard of living or greed is arguable, these men who'd grown to hate each other found common cause to swallow pride for price!
Though not the plan to disband, it served them to not slog through the late 2000s to 2016- now, the audience is nostalgic for their music, and the energy they would have used during those down years is coming to great use.
I agree. Ed sounds great. Some of my favorite bands are from the 90s like Pearl Jam and Vedder's voice has really changed a lot. I blame the smoking ya know lol. Still, there are so many other singers from way back that I love that just don't quite sound the same.
My favourite part of their new-found 'spirit' is that tool of a lead singer had to learn the hard way not to be a total douche-devil. Obviously nothing against you people, but this guy... he's a tool. He puts on this 'I'm so spiritual front', then demands crap-tonnes of cash. Dolphin's Crying? Can you say 'cringe'? I actually did hear the dolphin's crying once. They were crying about how much of a douche the lead singer of Live is.
LeatherCladVegan ( really? lol ) Curious, what do crying dolphins sound like since you "actually did hear dolphin's crying".....that had to have been an incredible experience. Have you ever heard dolphins laughing or being sarcastic? Tell us more!!!
nicestrat, They sound like this: Blip beep booop can I get a $100,000 bonus for my man, Ed beeep boooop bleeep he be singin' real hard yo blooOOpity bleEEp! Nah I'm just kidding - the dolphins were being sarcastic; they actually think Ed is a total douchebag. BleEp!
I still keep LIVE in my rotation as if they just arrived. So many songs from them that are great. I’m getting old. Lol. This makes me happy and sad. 2018 now. Where did the time go?
Embarrassed I’ve never seen this performance until now - it’s fantastic. The band was outstanding and Ed’s voice was in great shape. But the crowd certainly had much input - such great energy.
It is so great to see Ed Kowalczyk back with Live again after 8 long years! I'm sure it took setting aside a lot of pride, putting lawsuits behind themselves and realizing that the sum of the whole band is greater than the parts! They were incredible in the early 90's and sound even better today! Long live Live!!!
I will never forget when my ex-girlfriend and I first moved to Seattle in the early 2000's. We were walking past Sky Church (part of the Experience Music Project) when some folks walked up and asked would we like to attend a free show? Sure, who's playing? Oh just Sugar Ray and LIVE! Hell to the yeah! 1500 people and we were just 10 feet from Ed and Chad and it was the best concert I have seen to this day!
I was at that concert; I had just moved to Seattle myself (and was also in the very front....approximately in the same area as you).... And yes, that was definitely one of the best concerts I have been to.
Dude they played in Syracuse and there were 15 people in attendance. I took a piss right beside Chad I believe in the bathroom and ended up drinking with them after the show. The only one missing was Ed since they were broken up during that time. But hell yah!
A solid gig with Ed, but i saw Live with Chris Shin at Melkweg. At that time all the members seemed to have a lot of joy with each other. In my opinion it is (again) Ed with the other guys.
One of the things I was worried about was it wouldn't be the same, that it would probably just be better off without a reunion with Ed, but if things keep going this way and they have the same passion as before, and Ed doesn't pull any shit again then I'm cool with this.
Chad Gracey is such and underrated drummer its pathetic. This entire band with their talent and influence has been ignored far too long. I understand the legal bullshit, but out of a storm comes calm and reclamation....I hope this will last for them and for us!!!!
Still sound incredible. Honestly I don't wanna know what happened before or after the split. Musicians tend to be a crazy group of people. Commonly overly emotional. Full of ego, sentiment, selfishness, anger, bitterness, jealousy.. etc. Like all of us. Only difference is they take all of those inner feelings and emotions and mold them into something tangible. Which is one of the reasons why we love music. Personally I'm holding back any sense of judgement and just feeling happy they're back together.
I've seen LIVE 3 times in my lifetime and they were the best shows I've ever been to. I cried like a baby., Nothing can beat Ed's voice. And this video proves they've still got it!!!!!!
Ed absolutely killed "Lightning Crashes". I love hearing my favorite songs live (no pun intended) with a slightly different twist. Wish I could see Live live.
I was heartbroken when the initial split happened, but seeing them now it's like they're reborn and honestly it just feels right again. They are playing better here than they were before the split in my opinion. Long live Live.
yes!!!! my all time favorite band!!!! so glad they are back together!!! ed looks and sounds exactly the same!!! so cool they are opening for guns n roses this summer in pa and new york
seen both bands several times.love both bands but gnr are better live if axls on form. but live are a lot more consistent. great upload this & ed does still sounds awesome.
Ed sounding as good as ever (doesn't look as though he has aged one bit) - shame they never have been popular in the UK - but hopefully they will come over one day. Remember listening to Throwing Copper in the summer of '95 while travelling and working in the US - happy days. Thanks for posting.
The first time I seen Live in concert, Throwing Copper album, Ed just stood there singing. A couple years later...he was running around. I love his stage prescence. Fucking awesome!
I remember when they first premiered on 120 Minutes (MTV). It was the Mental Jewelry album. I instantly fell in love with them. A few years later, I saw them at Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Colorado. The show was amazing. 🙌 I've been to many concerts, but their concert has never left me. It was simply magical. ❤
This band sounds tighter than ever. I’ve always wanted to see them live being that I’m originally from PA, I support my local bands. I’m amazed how good Ed sounds. Normally the years take it’s toll on singers but he’s apparently taken care of himself over the years. \m/\m/
I saw them by accident at some big show in the 90s. I was not a fan before they came on but I was a fan forever after that. It really says something when a band can move you and you didn't even know the songs. Incredible
These comments of underrated are tiring. In the mid 90s you couldn't escape this band. Throwing Cooper is a well known and well aged record that's sold over 8 million copies. They've had hits, been on SNL, headlines concert tours themselves, headlined music festivals, and toured the world numerous times. And they still have huge crowds singing their lyrics back to them nearly 30 years later. That isn't underrated. That's not even close.
Had the pleasure of seeing these guys twice since back in the day and about to see them unplugged this October with Ed’s new lineup. LĪVE is one of the greatest rock bands of my time. The passion and spirit is raw. Side note from a drummer - that snare sounds like he’s cracking a block of wood! 🤘🏻

Holy hell. This gave me chills. They haven't aged a bit. The whole crew is still 100% on point and passionate. Ed sounds f'ing incredible! I love this band so much.
wow brilliant.. so glad there back. That concert took me back to my younger days.. was lucky enough to see them in Brixton in England in 1999 hope they come to Ireland but I doubt it
It's pretty crazy when you see the audience shots, and realise how wide this band's appeal is. There are at least three different generations represented here.
I absolutely LOVE Live. I love their message and everything they stand for. I loved it in my youth, and I love seeing them recreate these moments together and sharing their music. They haven't lost a bit of their charisma. One of the most underrated bands ever. Keep going, guys!!

That's not Agassi but you're funny

God his voice is so awesome. Throwing Copper is in my top 10 all time favorite albums list.
Absolutely!!
Without a doubt it’s always in my top 10.. the album was just filled hit after hit..
At this point in their career, most bands have lost their youthful energy and just sound slow and nostalgic. These guys sound like it's still 1995.
Though not the plan to disband, it served them to not slog through the late 2000s to 2016- now, the audience is nostalgic for their music, and the energy they would have used during those down years is coming to great use.
it's all in their philosophy ... letting go and swim all over again, you know...

not really....well eds voice here a little off
They went away for a while but they're back and sound as good as they did in the 90s. Very underrated band from that era.

Far from under rated here, One of my favourite drummers out there.

I'm a metalhead, but i love this band. Lighting crashes it's so damn awesome.
It's awesome watching all the moms and dads who know how great this band is with their children who are stunned by how great this band is,

My kids and I rock out to I Alone all the time. I'm 36 and they're 15 and 11 😀 timeless music

I was thinking the same thing! Amazing crowd awesome vibes
Chad still killing it on drums.
One of my all time favorite voices in music.
him and Eddie Vedder

I still keep LIVE in my rotation as if they just arrived. So many songs from them that are great. I’m getting old. Lol. This makes me happy and sad. 2018 now. Where did the time go?
That's why he deserves the lead singer's bonus.

good for you man! good for us..we experienced the best decades of music..80s-90s! cheers!

Brilliant band and largely underrated
I think they're back to their best here. Kowalczyk's voice sounds excellent. Hoping for new material from them.

Man, live is awesome, but Ed simply makes it more... alive!
