Thanks dude. I discovered it a while back, secured it with a 200 dollar down payment and got it a couple weeks later when it came in. I really haven't had time to play around with it much yet. Best review yet and you didn't even have to play. Koodo's man. I think I picked a winner and you explained it perfectly - All of it ! Cheers from Alberta Canada
Great review, I have one. And I was looking how to set it up. I like your description on chorus and ambience. Ambience is less full on. I had decided that when I was playing around. Thank you for posting this. It’s the most informative UA-cam clip on this amp. Cheers
Great stuff! Thanks for the reviw!!! Had 2 questions for you if you could.... I kHad 2 questions for you if you could.... I know the mic/line 1/4 input accept a (TRS) cable, but can this be a TRS cable that is in stereo (not just balanced)? I know the chorus and reverb is in stereo on the ac33 so was hoping I could run into this input with a stereo signal. I'm running my vocal chain into a Strymon, DECO (V2) then into the ac33. The Deco (V2) has stereo outs which sounds so great when they are actually in real stereo. Also is the ac33 bad at recreating lower frequencies in your opinion? I'm trying to do some one man band stuff and create kick drum sounds (playing body of guitar, etc) and they sound so good on my headphones, but when I switch back to the ac33 speakers (dual 5") its just a bad sounding pop or thunk'. If the speakers are bad at recreating the low lows, can I somehow easily hook up to or line out, to a subwoofer from the ac33? now the mic/line 1/4 input accept a (TRS) cable, but can this be a TRS cable that is in stereo (not just balanced)? Stereo input: The only stereo inputs are the "Aux In" inputs on the back of the amp (mini-jack or RCA). All the inputs on the top of the amp (jack or XLR) are all mono only. Bass: The 5" speakers can't produce any real bass frequencies. Outputs: There are 2 TRS "Line Out" jacks that you can use to send a mono or stereo output to other speakers (or subwoofer) on the back of the amp. Hope this helps.
@@JeffreySchmidtMusic Thank you for the info! Very kind of you to share! Do you happen to know if the instrument and Mic inputs on the top have their own separate preamps in them..and would the Aux ins on the back "not" have a preamp, which might make my sounds wimpy? Any info is helpful. Keep rockin man!
@@artspiritfineartstudiogall9672 What you say above is correct. Each of the two input channels on the top of the amp has its own preamp. The "line in" inputs on the back don't have any preamps. This is because the purpose of a preamp to increase the voltage of a weaker signal (mic or instrument) up to a standard "line level" voltage. The output of standard devices (phone, MP3 player, mixer, etc.) is already at "line level" so no further amplification is needed. Hope this helps.
Thanks for your nice and clear review. Regarding the looper, does it mean you just connect the FS-6 via TRS cable only to the left FS female connector on the Roland?
Yes, connecting a TRS cable from the middle jack of the FS-6 to the "Looper" (left side seen from the back) jack of the AC-33 allows you to control the amp's looper using both pedals on the FS-6.
Hi, do you think this amp is the best portable solution for small/medium gigs? Can it handle a small bar full of people talking? Maybe with a solid guitar, a laptop/controller in line and some backing track in aux input. Tks
My favorite uses for this amp are jamming at home and as a monitor and effects box live. It likely wouldn't be enough for a small bar of loud and excited people. But it's likely enough for a small bar with a medium level of noise or less. I've used it busking and it's loud enough for anyone that stops and watches on a busy street but won't be heard all that well by those just passing by. Hope this helps!
