Bob Dylan "One More Cup Of Coffee" LIVE performance [Full Song] 1975 | Netflix
/ netflix
In an alchemic mix of fact and fantasy, Martin Scorsese looks back at Bob Dylan's 1975 Rolling Thunder Revue tour and a country ripe for reinvention.
Dylan is a poetic genius, His lyrics are unparalleled. You will enjoy it just by reading them. He is like a story teller.
as a child I had a copy of his song book and I read and I read and I fell in love with his lyrics before I really had a chance to hear his music!
The violinist is incredible and adds remarkable depth and energy. Jesus. Properly blown away. She's superb.
Scarlet Rivera... Supposedly, Bob was in his limo in NYC and saw her crossing the street, saw her violin case and invited her to his studio
Fue la esposa de gene simons
This Guy has been writing the best of songs for 60 years!💚
Everybody know the greatness of Mr. Tambourine....but Scarlet Rivera and her electric violin are a legend too!
i think that's just a regular violin with a microphone on it
@@wilbertjimenez9400 True.. but she is great!
@@cissy7049 yea no doubt about it
Scarlet è in Italia ora!
@@wilbertjimenez9400 i might have read too far into the comment but i think they’re referencing to Dylan's song, Desolation Row.
I love how the music just creeps up on you slowly
I love Bob’s glance to the bass player at @ 0:35. Like he’s entering into a trance or something. Totally hypnotic.
The bas player is incredible ( and Scarlet Rivera), you can hear his magic qualities in the life performance of the hurricane
This song is the sequel to Bob Dylan having listened to some gypsy musicians in France. It uses the same progression as the fandango, which is also used by Queen in the Innuendo solo. I really like this Bob song.
Been a fan of Dylan for about 20 years and I find new meaning in his lyrics as I age. I’ve heard this song 500 times and one of the verses just hit me in a way it never has. What a legend.
This might be the best thing I've ever seen. Genius just genius.
Si, genio.
Genio. Genio antes, ahora y después. Brillante. Bravo él, brillante L a canción y brillante su imagen, su maquillaje. Un placer.
Yah, Bee Dee is our Man, to get it Unity with love back on the Streets. We will do the rest if he can get looking in one direction like he did for Peace and Vietnam.
all rolling thunder is awesome
That's just very, very special. Perhaps Scarlet was an inspiration for him on Desire because the two of them are just perfectly synced here. It's a joy to watch. Thank you!
Been listening almost 50 years and still finding I fall in love with Dylan songs that I know and like but haven't really explored yet.
same. For hearing Dylan all my life (parents played us all the folk and songwriter greats growing up) ... I'm not sure I ever heard this song. And this particular performance - I'm mesmerized.
One of my all-time favorite Dylan songs. Haunting.
This is the first Dylan song that grabbed me as a ten year old, and hearing this performance on the Rolling Thunder Revue on Netflix made my hair stand on end and my heart stop. So magical, mysterious and foreboding! Love love love ❤️
That's something !
This Dylan film has a rare voice to all his songs, the makeup developed in him a very unusual and true voice !!!
This song shows how mysterious Bob Dylan’s songs can be
Mysterious and dark, don't you think? ;-)
Michael Goodall yes sir
As dark as the ocean? :)
you should check out Jack White from the white stripes.. They cover this song, and it is freaky!
You can start to unravel the mystery if you take it that this song refers to pre-Christian, and indeed pre-literate, times; and that the valley below is the Underworld.
Thanks Sir Dylan, for all the mystery, blues, jazz, lyrics...
Love those stories that Dylan tells. Having Scarlett on the song with that haunting violin is so sweet. She also played on the song Hurricane about Rubin Carter.
I was waiting near a coffee machine for a girl near to come out after her gym session so that I could join her in the elevator and just when she was about to walk out of the door I had this insatiable urge to have one more cup of coffee so I pressed the espresso button in the machine meanwhile she left in the elevator. This was my “ but Coffee first” moment. I don’t know why the hell I did even though I was just waiting for her to finish the session. Entire day I was just appalled on my action and then this song came to my mind purely because of its title. In love with Bob Dylan, this song and coffee since I don’t even remember. To all the lovers of all the three … cheers you guys have great taste . One more cup of coffee before I go ☕️ 😎
vocally B.D. is very nimble in phrasing pitch and constantly underrated. He could have been a great jazzoid if he hadn't decided to reinvent the pop/folk literary song book. thanks for that Bob, and cheers from Vancouver!
Everyone talks of Scarlet River’s violin playing on the song which ofcourse is exquisite, but the bass playing on this song is so damn fine. It makes the song work the way it does.
Iconic!!! Saw this concert in Vancouver, Canada in the Seventies. What a show!!! Scarlett was amazing!!! ❤️
yeah I have to say that this is quite a gem. I'm 50 and a huge music fan but I never new Dylan outside the radio stuff. Then I downloaded a bunch of his stuff and stuck it on my phone and just let it mingle with my normal repertoire. This song would come on and I would stop and listen and think, where has this gem been hiding. That's the same way I discovered jazz.
Simply amazing. Best composer of our time. A lot of credit to the other musicians as well ^^
It's my new favorite song right now. Thank you podcast and netflix
We NEED the full concert! Pleeease!!!
Desire Is one of my favourit LP's, Top 10, this performance was magic.
Genius. Dylan is an absolutely brilliant artist.
I think the RTRT (1975) were some of the best shows in Dylan's career some of the shows were just stunning i just need a time machine
Bobby Dylan... Best Songwriter Of All Time!!!
I always refer to him as Bobby Dylan as well...........
have you tried all rolling thunder its awesome
Lyrics
Your breath is sweet, your eyes are like two jewels in the sky
Your back is straight, your hair is smooth on the pillow where you lie
But I don't sense affection, no gratitude or love
Your loyalty is not to me but to the stars above
One more cup of coffee for the road
One more cup of coffee 'fore I go
To the valley below
Your daddy, he's an outlaw and a wanderer by trade
He'll teach you how to pick and choose, and how to throw the blade
He oversees his kingdom, so no stranger does intrude
His voice, it trembles as he calls out for another plate of food
One more cup of coffee for the road
One more cup of coffee 'fore I go
To the valley below
Your sister sees the future like your mama and yourself
You've never learned to read or write, there's no books upon your shelf
And your pleasure knows no limits, your voice is like a meadow lark
But your heart is like an ocean, mysterious and dark
One more cup of coffee for the road
One more cup of coffee 'fore I go
To the valley below

Watch this and tell me again how Bob Dylan can't really sing. Wow. Just wow.
CRazy isn't it. I challenge all those who say he can't sing to get up there and do better than him.
17/11/2023
This song definitely makes the most of his unique voice
Love him, but admit it, some live performances are a little rough. We all got stoned ya know ❤😊
Well I’m only 52 so this show I would be young ,would not understand him anyway. I know starting to see him in the beginning in the new century he was hard to understand. Maybe I could I know his stuff, but for a person who doesn’t?
Extreme good performance. The bass is so free reminds me of the bass on Van Morrison The Way Young Lovers Do.
The critics are negative about the overdoses violin, but she plays very free and every note makes the song more intens.
Just the way Bob sings.
This Scarlett Rivera (..) Dylan just picked up from the streeft. Hé only saw her back and the violin. Intuition is so strong. It is nearly the hole thing. Bob lives from it.
This album (Desire) was the first time I heard Bob on the radio in the Netherlands and the live performance of Hard Rain the first time hé was on Dutch television.
I imediatly knew hé was very very special, at least to me. I love so many of of his styles but this one was my introduction. I will never forget
What great footage of a piece of music history.
he scratched my soul, and it never scarred up; it STILL bleeds to this day...E
Scarlet... She is a Gypsy 🎶❤️ Magical Musican 🎻 🎶❤️.. and you Bob are the Caravan Poet..weaver of words.❤️
Peace, and love Bob ...grateful, for your Genius
Another great moment was the performance of "The Lonesome Death of Hattie Carrol"!
Yessssss
this was the song that came on when driving to Tassajara the first time, to live like a Zen monk in that valley. We had just had a cup of coffee in Jamesburg on the way in. It was so stunning that I still remember that moment; Thank you Dylan.
that violin is killing me for years
OH ROBERT ZIMMERMAN WHAT WE HAVE DONE WITHOUT YOU THANK YOU SO VERY MUCH LOV MR DYLAN
What do I love about Bob Dylan? Hmmm let me think about it *thinking, thinking, thinking* ... Everything.
Aside from his wordsmith, his chameleon appearance, it's his change of music to suit the same words of his song. I have heard three versions of 'Lay Lady Lay' and two versions of 'Girl From The North Country (One With Johnny Cash) and 'One More Cup Of Coffee For The Road' and 'Spanish Is The Loving Tongue'. There is no limitation to his gift and talent :)
Good to hear this again, been a while since I played the album, Black Diamond Bay is another great one - Thanks
What a performer...brilliant , the poetry is unsurpassed
Never seen or heard Dylan so wild!
A favorite. So wonderful to see this amazing live performance. Perfect vocal and Scarlet's haunting electric violin ("Desolation Row").
If you haven't seen Rolling Thunder Review I very highly recommend it, there is a ton of fantastic live performances. He is at the top of his game and his voice sounds fantastic!
I never realised how much I like this song until this documentary 😂🎩
having my last cup of coffee for the morning. great lyrics.
I've just been blown away
One of my favourites, just one,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
He is awesome
Beautiful weirdo. This is one of my favorite Bob songs
My favorite song of all time!
1:28 "your daddy is an outLAW"....his voice...
Dylan is the greatest songwriter ever
Almost. After his ancestor.
Brilliant music. Great style Mr Dylan. Blessings from NZ.
There are many Bob Dylans his vocal sound is different for each style of song Just when I thought I had heard them all I listened to his album Nashville Skyline in which he sings country songs with a totally different voice. If you didn't know it was him singing you would think it was someone you had never heard before. Dylan is the greatest we've ever had. He wrote 400 sings and is still writing them. He didn't win Nobel prize for nothing.
dylan's voice peaked for me in this performance, only matched by jokerman.
My favorite😊
I like this particular performance of this song most of all! 💞☕️🤗
I just clocked on after all these years that ending violin riffs is from runaway by del shannon.
As far as I know, Dylan took Scarlet literally out of the street into the Review!
Knowing Dylan he probably made that story up lol.
Bobby is young for ever
La version de "One More Cup Of Coffee" dans l'album 79 "Bob Dylan at Budokan" est magnifique aussi
D'accord!
His eyes... He knows everything.
Bob Dylan is a “culture”
I've been a Dylan Fan since 1964 !
Taste
Rob Stoner's bass playing on this is fantastic.
I saw Dylan in 1975 in Houston. Willie Nelson was in the audience.
He performed a few songs with Dylan.
Esse violino é maravilhoso.
Give my channel a boost. Visit it! I covered this song and I hope you like it!

Man, this is fantastic... love Bob Dylan!!!!
all rolling thunder revue is awesome try it
This is one song where I can actually figure out the lyrics. Usually, Mr. Zimmerman is too busy chewing and swallowing the words. :-) Violinist was aces!
This is the most sublime recording .
Just Like Bob Dylan's Blues
Dramatic darkness.. Beautiful
Happy 80th birthday sir
love all his songs! ❤
my very favorite period of Dylan's career ...
Isn’t he just wonderful and I love this song . Best song writer ever ....💖💖💖💖💖💖

What a masterpiece
Nesse frio vou seguir Dylan. Mais uma xícara de café.
The coolist performer!
He oversees his kingdom
So no stranger does intrude
His voice, it trembles as he calls out
