      Ballet flats aren't always the best for walking, but the M. Gemi "Danza" have a hidden wedge heel inside the shoe that makes it much more comfortable, also a square toe. Made in Italy, so a bit more $$ than some other brands. I love mine in cognac! They're lightweight, so pack quite easily in a carryon.

    You've provided great suggestions. I'll be back in Paris for a month in the spring, so this was helpful to double-check my capsule wardrobe of mixing neutral classics in navy, cream, and cognac. I go to Paris every year (except 20-21 due to pandemic). Last May, I wore my trench coat and blazer only a few times, as it was warm enough for doing without a coat. This year, I'm taking a good quality cream linen/cotton blazer (Zadig & Voltaire without all the embellishments that they're known for) that is partially lined, and two waist-length cardigans (navy, cream). If the weather looks chilly enough for more, I'll decide at the last minute! I will take a nice navy weather coat that's 3/4 length, instead of a long trench, in case of rain. I love watching your videos! Thank you!

    Hello. Thank you for Your advices in this video. ❤🎉 I do have some things to add, referring to true feeling of well-being and health: One thing that is hugely important: about shoes - even more important then ripe of shoes - is the sole that is used in shoes. The under sole is hugely important. Several of the shoes in this video do it have a sole that gives good support, good amortization. I do advice according to my experience and several advices from many people: wear shoes /sandals with truly good, amortizating sole!! And - the uplift of the heal should be circa 2-3 cm. The Valentino sandals are not the kind of sandals that can be used to walk the whole day: completely flat, very thin sole, no amortization… Our health and true wellbeing is hugely important, I believe, and I learned…

    This is such a helpful video since I’m going to Parsi for the first time in August so really taking notes.
    I’m excited but nervous with the wardrobe situation, so Jeans hell yes I’m a huge jeans girl, sneakers you say try to go with the stylish ones which don’t look like athleisure right ?
    Is it okay to wear plain black or white T shirts or you recommend not to ?
    Another question is the weather humid or dry ?
    I’m from Mexico and I’m usually in jeans and T shirts. Here we don’t wear dresses or shorts in the capital Mexico City, here we always have a pretty neutral weather you can say.
    So I’ve never been to Europe and i really want to know if nice sneakers are allowed to not get blisters after walking Almost the whole day.

      I think the Gizeh style Birkenstocks will look best in south of France :) But if you style them with a long floral dress or long linen summer trousers in pastel color they can look good for a city like Paris too. I'm enjoying your videos because you have really good ideas when you do look beautiful. I'm thinking you got a compliment in part because you looked good and also cuz they could tell you r not French and they appreciated the fact you were dressing the way they would even though you were a foreigner. IT'S not obvious from your accent or even your look where you're from but I'm guessing you're Romanian or perhaps an East European country. FOR some reason you don't look French it all but you also don't look English. AND although your last name contains the word v a n you don't appear Dutch, even tho VAN normally would be the part of a Dutch surname. AND of course Rose isn't German or Dutch so the mystery still remains.
    And all events I think it's lovely the way you dressed for the French people out of respect and then wanting to blend in. I recall vividly being on a cruise but knowing I wanted to be taken for European when I got off the boat. I found myself in Germany and I had on a beret--it was NOT red😉-- it was white and I had on a black three-quarter coat that would work for the rain. IT was not wool. A German approached me, asking me the time, and I said-- I'm very sorry I don't speak German.
    AND he looked completely shocked. I felt so triumphant that I had succeeded by wearing those two items in particular so that I looked very European or very German.
    The fact is I'm I'm half German but I took after the Bavarian good-looking side with black eyebrows; dark eyes and dark brown hair which actually in America is NOT considered German because they think everyone's blue-eyed and blond but that would be more Northern Germans. Southern Bavarian Germans tend to look like I did and also have Catholicism & red wine as part of their cultural profile 😊
    THE boat had stopped in Northern Germany so I wasn't with my Bavarian Kin so I was quite happy that I was taken as a German.
    My feeling has always been-- WHEN IN ROME DO AS THE ROMANS DO I'd learned that quote as a young teenager it stuck with me. I am proud to say that when I used to travel a lot, I was NEVER taken as American which is a good thing. I generally blended in with whatever country I was in. Thx again for your thoughtful, clear analysis of European fashion

    • @LadyBug1967
      @LadyBug1967 Рік тому

      Kate I am sure that you and your oldest clothes look wonderful but I know what she means when she's talking about Americans😉 Americans are very worried about not appearing well-dressed or Chic according to European fashion and so to avoid the whole conundrum and the embarrassment they simply take out of the hamper their oldest clothes --maybe not even well pressed-- and put them on and like everyone, you feel so comfortable in your old clothes. BUT that should be done at home by yourself or with your family--just mucking around, making things, getting stains on your clothes, etc, cuz it doesn't matter. THEY'RE old anyway. BUT when you're out and about in a foreign country, I understand exactly what Angela means. I think that if you came to America in your old clothes, you'd probably look great but you might want to put on something a little more spiffy and in America actually gym clothes are great.
      I actually have tons-- I mean dozens-- of what I guess she calls yoga pants which are leggings and they have them in so many different colors that I mix and match with tunics in similar colors. I have some that are bell-bottom which I think is so cute and funny cuz it harkens back to the sixties and I love them and they're comfortable and there's no zippers and buttons to mess with. SO I would have a huge problem in Europe because that is what I like to wear in the summer and I would wear it and unfortunately I would be probably immediately targeted as an American so I'd be very careful with where I put my money and my passport🤑😉 BUT be that as it may, I think she's talking to Americans and as an American I understand where she's coming from. YOU may be an expat and you have figured out for yourself how to present yourself and it works beautifully but most Americans are very nervous, very shy, and very uncomfortable when they think about going abroad because we're very aware that we don't have a lot of fashion sense.
      I had MORE when I was younger and I was thought ht to be European even though I'd never been to Europe. BUT I have less now because my mother's influence has faded and the type of clothing available is no longer available that I bought when I was young so I know what she's talking about and her intention is good😊
