You are going to really love a song entitled “No More” Also a Japanese release and rocks as hard if not harder than “Endless Night” Like you said so much content.
Yes this is in Japanese (and English). Their song "No More" is also one of their heaviest. Their discography in order: Nightmare series: - Chase Me (debut) - Good Night - Fly High - You & I - What - Piri - Breaking Out (Japanese) Game collaborations: - R.o.S.E Blue - Deja Vu Dystopia series in order: - Scream - Boca - Odd Eye Apocalypse series: - Maison - Vision - new song coming in May
"No More" is even heavier, and "Don't Light My Fire" has a classic metal band sound. I like that with Japanese releases, since rock and metal are so popular there, they get to go full- on with that sound without holding back.
I'm the guy that likes to know what their songs are about. This song is about what they went through when Minx, their original group, failed and disbanded. Then they got 'one more chance' to go for their dream to become a top girl group with the formation of Dreamcatcher. Scattered through the lyrics you'll find the titles of several of their songs. Kuboty, a Japanese guitarist that came out of the punk band Totalfat, worked on the lyrics and composition of the song along with Dreamcatcher's writer/composers LEEZ and Ollounder. Kuboty played the guitar and bass parts while Katsuma, from Japanese post-hardcore band Coldrain, played the drum parts. Dreamcatcher company's CEO spent several years in Japan in the early 2000's promoting Japanese bands into South Korea so he has a lot of contacts in the music scene there. The Covid epidemic put an end to their activities in Japan, but they still have quite a few fans there.
I might be the second one lol, I used to be a hard kpop stan and used to hate rocks but after listening to dreamcatcher over and over, I no longer like any kpop songs other than dreamcatcher, and my playlist were literally just filled with rock/heavy metal songs + their songs HAHA
Lol always glad to have more metalhead friends! I’m definitely the first kind. Used to look down on kpop but thankfully Dreamcatcher has opened my eyes haha.
In this time frame their Chinese member, Han Dong, was stuck in China because of REALLY STRICT travel restrictions, so they were down a member. There were only six performers in this song and MV instead of seven. JiU is the Group Leader, one of the Lead Vocalists and one of the Lead Dancers (also called their Visual). In this video, she has the Purple hair. GORGEOUS lady. SuA is their Main Dancer but she is actually really good on Vocals AND she is part of the Rap line, too (although she decided to take a long break from Rapping in order to work on her Vocals more, so Gahyeon stepped in as a Rapper). SuA has the highest pitch of any of their voices, and she is NOT the Main Vocalist! She will completely accidentally call dolphins when she laughs! We have to get you to react to her laughing, she really is iconic. Siyeon is the Main Vocalist and she is the one you noticed with the high notes here. Dongie was MIA here. :( Yoohyeon had the Blonde hair here. She is one of their Lead Vocalists and their best linguist. When she speaks English, her lack of accent really throws people off, they might think her language skill is better than it actually is just because of how great she sounds. She knows LOTS of languages now. Dami is the Main Rapper and she is totally under-rated as a Vocalist. She has covered Adele on her own! Not many people can do that! Always amazing. Gahyeon is the youngest member, a sub-vocalist (they really need to change that title for her, she's much better now than she was as a new member) and one of the Rappers. I am pretty sure she is the one who started this song. Her and SuA traded vocals back-and-forth before Yoohyeon started singing. I don't mean to bother you at all, I just hope this helps you get the members straight. :)
With all the different language stuff you mentioned from all the comments, Han Dong has also translated some of their Korean songs into Mandarin. In this way, she got to sing songs that she was not present for when the group made and performed those. Plus, sure, bring in more fans from her own country because now some of their biggest songs are in her language as well. BRILLIANT marketing move and shows that DC are truly International and care about their fan base. :)
Dreamcatcher has announced their latest EP, with the title track schedule for May 25th. Get ready by then, AMP! Also Dreamcatcher will be performing at some music festival in Japan end of next month so i'm hoping that they have new Japanese comeback song with an album. Its been like 4 years since their last Japanese album.
Yes they’re singing in Japanese. Anytime they make a Japanese release, they sing in Japanese and speak Japanese in their promo vids. Speaking of bass players, you’d LOVE Eugene Kostyuk from Jinjer. He’s phenomenal. You’ve probably already come across them since they’re pretty viral on YT, but if you haven’t, you’re in for a treat.
Awesome reaction. I’m glad you enjoyed the song and discovering DREAMCATCHER. Looking forward to more videos to come. I know there are guides that are 30 plus minutes long but totally would sit through and watch it all if you did some.
I'm pretty sure that a lot of the comments will give you the full breakdown (because believe me most of their songs are amazing) but NO MORE, which is another of their Japanese singles, will be right up your alley to listen to. Thank you for all your reactions to them. You're doing an amazing job!
Dreamcatcher is pretty unique in the Kpop scene... in so many ways. One thing that isn't particularly unique is actually making an album specifically for release in Japan that is written and sung in Japanese. Most successful Kpop groups release at least one album in Japanese. That said, Dreamcatcher has an unusually large international fanbase and relies more on (and pays more attention to) their international fans than most successful Kpop groups.
Their first ever studio album, The Beginning Of The End, was in Japanese and was produced by Ponican. It has many of their famous songs in Japanese (all music by Ponican is in Japanese). Endless Night was released later. My favorite Japanese song though is Eclipse, their last ever. It was released in 2021, the first year of their success and was not promoted by Ponican at all. I think it was even recorded in Korea. Such a waste, as it is the ultimate anime song!
I went to your channel video list; I did not scroll very far but I did not see what I was looking for. So, might I suggest, Rolling Quartz? They are a 5-piece K-Rock/ Metal band. I guess the vocalist counts her voice as an instrument, but all of the other four members play guitars or bass guitar or drums. One of the coolest things Rolling Quartz did was when they covered DreamCatcher's song Good Night! They had DCC/ happyface's blessing to do so, partially because the band has been close with some of the producers of DC for a while. RQ's drummer is also Han Dong's drum teacher. :) Basically, RQ stuffed all the coolest things about the MVs from the Nightmare Series into a single MV when they covered Good Night. Of course it's WAY different than the original version! These ladies play the instruments themselves and they have one single vocalist who does everything including Rap while the other four members are backup singers at certain places. I am pretty sure you will at least 'like' them, if not 'love' them. :)
Is Handong still playing the drums? She only mentioned it in the Love Catcher behind and it seemed more like "yeah I once could play a little". I wish she could go more into this I don't think most Insomnia even know. But if she just started it's understandable that she probably won't share something yet. A drum cover would be awesome though
@James Curfman don't worry no one has heard yet😂🤔there's only a small snippet in a Dreamcatcher's Note (Behind the Scenes) they did for a merch photo book last year. Idk if she even said it before bc that's how I learned... and I also really hope she does!😄

2:59 Jrock Dreamcatcher is intended for the Japan market. Endless Night, that intro reaction always gets me laughing.. 🤯😂 No More Don't Light My Fire My Way Eclipse These are Jap releases, im sure others have mentioned it, im just throwing it regardless. Let's go Dreamcatcher
dreamcatcher \:D/ just a warning, not every dreamcatcher song will be as hard or as rock as endless night. after all, dreamcatcher isn't really rock nor metal. they just incorporate rock/metal elements in different ways in many of their songs. they also incorporate other genres so not all their songs are rock. in short, dreamcatcher's discography is more an exploration in music perhaps in ways you haven't heard before with very few two songs even sounding remotely alike.
Dreamcatcher's Japanese track usually heavier than Korean tracks...but kinda lack of promotion in & out of Japanese market at the time of album release...which is why their Japanese MV view lesser than Korean MV & same goes with their Japanese album sale...I think they need a new strategy to catch the Japanese audience interest..maybe like watch some survey video 'What are you listening to...' Japanese street version to get some idea...
As someone who likes bands like Slipknot, Slayer, Sepultura, etc... i don't like their japanese releases that much. Eclipse is good, my favorite probably is Don't light my fire as their japanese releases go. Endless Night and No More probably my least liked japanese releases.
I'm mainly into metal/rock myself, but I honestly feel that this is one of Dreamcatchers weakest tracks and I love most of their stuff. I don't even have it in my Dreamcatcher playlist. :P Don't get why its always recommended to metal reactors, but hey, each to their own.
You are going to really love a song entitled “No More” Also a Japanese release and rocks as hard if not harder than “Endless Night” Like you said so much content.

dreamcatcher \:D/
just a warning, not every dreamcatcher song will be as hard or as rock as endless night. after all, dreamcatcher isn't really rock nor metal. they just incorporate rock/metal elements in different ways in many of their songs. they also incorporate other genres so not all their songs are rock. in short, dreamcatcher's discography is more an exploration in music perhaps in ways you haven't heard before with very few two songs even sounding remotely alike.
I think you'll like k-bands like rolling quartz and xdinary heroes
Coming soon!
Try to listen to No More, even heavier than Endless Night
Next dejavu
After deja vu is mayday and I miss you
Dreamcatcher's Japanese track usually heavier than Korean tracks...but kinda lack of promotion in & out of Japanese market at the time of album release...which is why their Japanese MV view lesser than Korean MV & same goes with their Japanese album sale...I think they need a new strategy to catch the Japanese audience interest..maybe like watch some survey video 'What are you listening to...' Japanese street version to get some idea...
My possibly least favourite track but metalheads love it 😁
cry?????
