I think that it's great that you show the sound example in the beginning to let us know if it's something that we'd even like to continue watching or not!.....Thank you!....And thank you for all of your tutorials!!
Sound designing is shit hard, but learning your theory is equally important guys. If you don't know your major, minors, harmonics etc. how do you expect to understand this. Respect to all platforms of music. Hats off bro! Mouse dance was epic!!!
I LOVE your tutorials! I always learn so much about all of the tools. What I really appreciate is the in depth explanations as to what knob does what. I already kind of knew what they did in a way but could never put it into words. Knowing more technical details behind it all improves my understanding of synthesizer(s). Excellent work!
after watching your videos once, and over and over, i wonder if you really have a life or sleep sometime; thank you for yor dedication and profrsionalism. Sorry for my bad english, I really don't speak it.
Thanks for all the tutorials! You are a master!! this is the best channel about tutorials! i seriously recommended! By the way i prefer the boxes with the text written
thank you soooo much!! for a long time i thought i would never understand the meaning of those knobs and modulation stuff, but this video saved my life!! Thnks man!
Hello howtomakemusic, Your videos are amazing and very advanced in creativity/quality. You have probably just scratched the surface in the amount of knowledge you have yet to share. I am a beginner and still have a lot to learn but your videos have helped me a ton and are mind blowing. If possible in the future, can you touch upon how, for example, the bass, melody, lead, beat work together coherently. Sometimes when I have two or more elements, they clash and don't sound good together.
Sweet Vid!!! Finally someone who explains WHY they are doing what they do. I've watched busy works beats, and theyre great vids too but now I actually feel like I know what Im doing (somewhat). You got a like and sub from me bro
Gandalf The White i hate people like that, they claim anyone can make music on a computer, no guys it isnt the same as music for play station....simple minded folk lol
I know it annoys me so much. think about it this way , if you think that it is just pressing buttons what is a piano ? hmmm ?? why don't you tell me what that is ?? no offence pianist I am a pianist just stating not hating
Gandalf The White Its just a different form of musician... I am a keyboardist and use to be in a band but can no longer play (for a variety of reasons... including because my shoulder is buggered) but I can still enjoy making music this way with short bursts on my keyboard.
Hey Sean, That's the same sound I've been trying to recreate. There's a really good example in Birdy nam nam - Goin' in. Now, I do not by any means know how to recreate that sound but I tried a couple of things that sound a bit like that. You can try making bass notes really short and adding the 'pitch riser' above the note (that little tool under the dropdown arrow near the pencil, paintbrush, etc). Also, you can try adding a bass sound into edison and slicing a really short portion of it
Great tutorials you make. very useful. you should make another progtrance tutorial focusing on complex bassline, where two-three basses works together. for example shogun's connected. try to get a similar sound but it's a bit confusing..
thanks ! this video was so helpful understanding how FM synthesis and sytrus work. can u please make another few tutorials on how to create a deep offbeat bass and a rolling trance bassline with sytrus or 3osc?
i really love ur vidoes man!! ur vids are the only ones , which helped me yet , but please please please please make tutorial where u show how to make the "nari & milani - atom" drop , it would help very much!!
this is what i will be going to school for soon, pretty sure this is the same shit they will be telling me thank you so much for heads up on what ill be having to look forward to :)
How did you make such a nice drum sound to go with it? Is there a tutorial for that somewhere too? I'd like to learn how to make some nice drum sounds like what you have in here to go with the pulsating to learn from and get better with.
I've been watching a couple of your tutorials sort of gathering inspiration / ideas. Itt'l be fun to tweak , make original as it seems you find some of the best chords to use with the particular sounds you make.
your tutorial was great and very informative although I think it will take me years to undersound this VST. The only thing I didnt get in your tutorial is the glide/portamento thing. I'm using ableton live 8 and I just cant find a similar function to the Channel settings/misc, can you help me out?
When you're editing the volume envelopes and the cut envelopes in the video (for example at: 2:53 ) yours appears to be snapping to specific spots, mine is completely free (no snapping) and is very irritating, I have the tempo box ticked, I would just like to know how to make it snap as your does, thanks.
nice tutorials!!! one question: which screen recorder did you use??? xD sorry that i ask this but i wanna start making tutorials or other stuff, and if i have a screen recorder, or the screen, or the sound quality isnt good enough, and in your videos its perfect, so please tell me ;) tnx
Hey man, I watch all of your videos, a lot of times I even re-watch them just because you make teaching FL Studio easy and enjoyable. Now I have a little problem, I am trying to find out how to make the high pitch fluctuating sound in Krewella's song 'Come and Get It' that starts at about 45 second mark. I've tried messing around in Massive, 3x osc, Sylenth, Sytrus, and Z3ta, but I just cant seem to figure it out :/ A little help would be AWESOME. Keep up the good work!
I was just wondering if anybody could clarify is the metallic part particular created because of the sharp filter cutoff in the envelope or the high frequency modulator
+venuss3333 I don't know if you found it in the 4 months since you commented, but if you go over to the wrench, and then look under polyphony, you can do it all from there :)
Wow man nice it is a nice sound ;) i have a request: could you please make a tutorial on how to make a nice sounding sawing fat lead like is used on many house tracks these days (the song "epic" is one of these tracks). Pls let me know :) Regards, Jasper
Using text is not a bad idea, maybe better than speaking : we can stop the video and try the whole informations (affiched on the screen) directly with FL Studio. If you use a microphone, we won't be able to do that and we will be forced to go back many times where u start the explications... Thx a lot for ur work ! =) (a noob from France)
I don't quiet get the MOD X thing. Why does it only affect the Operator 2 Modulation and not the Operator 3 Modulation? Is it because OP 3 is not at 100% Modulation? And why is it MOD X and not MOD Y (or what can be done with MOD Y in this case?).
you may have figured this out by now, but he modulated the filter 1 cutoff to lower and raise..you can do this either in the piano roll or you can create an automation clip for it..i personally prefer to edit filter cutoff frequencies in the piano roll
I would like to make a song as a tribute to you for teaching me so much to show my appreciation to you. Is it ok If i use this melody and bass and create a song and post it on soundcloud? I will give you full credit and even send you a link? I want my friends and other people out there to check out your channel as its amazing!
I'm actually more interested in how you made these snares...they totally sound like deadmau5 snares. with kind of something before the actual snare hits...sounds awesome!
I love this youtuber. His tutorials are gold for beginners.
I think that it's great that you show the sound example in the beginning to let us know if it's something that we'd even like to continue watching or not!.....Thank you!....And thank you for all of your tutorials!!

Hats off bro! Mouse dance was epic!!!
I love how not only u teach us how to do it, but u explain to us what everything we're using is and what it does specifically. tyvm :D
I just wanted to say 'thanks for this tutorial.' I like how you explain everything in a concrete way. On other tutorials, I only understood somewhat.
I've watch hundreds of tutorial about FL Studio. But this by far is the most educational out of all of them. You deserve more subscribers.
It’s been seven years and I’m still watching your tutorials
Really well explained, helped me as a beginenr with synthesizing way better than anything else I've seen!
Dude, finding out your tutorial makes me feel like it's Christmas already. I have better leads on how to use Sytrus now. Thanks and props to Dancemau5
after watching your videos once, and over and over, i wonder if you really have a life or sleep sometime; thank you for yor dedication and profrsionalism. Sorry for my bad english, I really don't speak it.

i hate people like that, they claim anyone can make music on a computer, no guys it isnt the same as music for play station....simple minded folk lol
"Electronic music doesn't have soul and the musicians are just pressing buttons"

thanks ! this video was so helpful understanding how FM synthesis and sytrus work. can u please make another few tutorials on how to create a deep offbeat bass and a rolling trance bassline with sytrus or 3osc?

My mouse was so impressed by the dance skills of yours.

Itt'l be fun to tweak , make original as it seems you find some of the best chords to use with the particular sounds you make.

hey man! great tutorial! but i have a question: How do you make the decibel meter in the 'result' part at the beginning of your video?
I love your videos!!Do you have any more dubstep using basic plugins like Sytrus, or 3OscX?
Using text boxes is really useful for everyone :P. I wish everything was in vietnamese so i could understand the tutorial more :(
I feel like this bass would fit better to Dubstep than House. :)
Great tutorial anyway!
you are a god :) could you maybe make a avicii tutorial? or how to get his atmosphere sound?
your tutorial was great and very informative although I think it will take me years to undersound this VST. The only thing I didnt get in your tutorial is the glide/portamento thing. I'm using ableton live 8 and I just cant find a similar function to the Channel settings/misc, can you help me out?

When you're editing the volume envelopes and the cut envelopes in the video (for example at: 2:53 ) yours appears to be snapping to specific spots, mine is completely free (no snapping) and is very irritating, I have the tempo box ticked, I would just like to know how to make it snap as your does, thanks.
tick the 'snap' box in the bottom right of the envelope window

Hi, amazing tutorial, how did you get to the channel settings box? I'm on the last step. I'm also in FL studio 12. Thanks! +howtomakeemusic
+venuss3333 I don't know if you found it in the 4 months since you commented, but if you go over to the wrench, and then look under polyphony, you can do it all from there :)
Amazing tutorial!
howtomakemusic, have you made any trap tutorials or can you make some?
Ok, after going through this tutorial a few times, i have deduced that really you just kinda fuck around with the harmonics til it sounds good
i love your channel it really helps ! thx alot !
Wow man nice it is a nice sound ;) i have a request: could you please make a tutorial on how to make a nice sounding sawing fat lead like is used on many house tracks these days (the song "epic" is one of these tracks). Pls let me know :)

any way to edit the lfo (cut) in an automation clip once you have that?
Moombahton? I will look into it though cant promise anything :)
Using text is not a bad idea, maybe better than speaking : we can stop the video and try the whole informations (affiched on the screen) directly with FL Studio. If you use a microphone, we won't be able to do that and we will be forced to go back many times where u start the explications...
Thx a lot for ur work ! =)
(a noob from France)
Who started mousedancing along in the end?:D
ah next time lol
haha yep, looks like mousedancing is a thing now :)
how do you make the slow effect at the beggining of the sound example
I don't quiet get the MOD X thing. Why does it only affect the Operator 2 Modulation and not the Operator 3 Modulation? Is it because OP 3 is not at 100% Modulation? And why is it MOD X and not MOD Y (or what can be done with MOD Y in this case?).
On the finished product, how do I raise and lower the volume levels like you did?
you may have figured this out by now, but he modulated the filter 1 cutoff to lower and raise..you can do this either in the piano roll or you can create an automation clip for it..i personally prefer to edit filter cutoff frequencies in the piano roll
do you always just make these short snippets or do you also make them into actual songs?
Great vids, and I love the mouse dance!
I would like to make a song as a tribute to you for teaching me so much to show my appreciation to you. Is it ok If i use this melody and bass and create a song and post it on soundcloud? I will give you full credit and even send you a link? I want my friends and other people out there to check out your channel as its amazing!
