2024 Certified Angus Beef Sustainability - JY Ferry & Son

JY Ferry & Son is named the 2024 Certified Angus Beef Sustainability Award winner.
Located north of Salt Lake City, the Ferry’s have managed their century-old ranch. The family understands that sustainability goes beyond just caring for cattle but also about nurturing the land.
“There’s a good cycle to wetlands,” says Joel Ferry, executive director of Utah’s Department of Natural Resources.
By grazing their cattle strategically, the Ferry’s have rejuvenated the wetlands, turning what was once considered detrimental into a sustainable solution that benefits both the environment and their cattle.
Through years of challenges, including drought and difficult soil conditions, the Ferry’s have never lost sight of their mission: to ensure that their ranch not only survives but thrives for generations to come.
