- Lay wanted to see how far 1000 Philippines pesos would go here in Kuala Lumpur and we were both quite shocked as a couple how this amount of money lasted us the whole day in Kuala Lumpur we basically toured around the city and ate as much food as humanly possible. Kuala Lumpur Malaysia is incredible value for the money

I love seeing the prices, I think $17 is around £13, for two people including transport wouldn't be possible in the UK! There is a cost of living crisis in the UK....the rich haven't noticed, lol. The paintings on the walls are just brilliant, so much talent there. That man's English was perfect too! I had a feeling you would end up in a McDonalds at 3am, not quite but you did end up eating....again! Will you sleep now until 3pm I wonder. Hey guys because of you I put Kuala Lumpur back on my list of places to visit. So many food varieties and you guys always willing to try. Lay seems to be enjoying the Indian dishes even though they can sometimes be a little spicy. Never had masala tea will have to try it. Nice video !

Based on this video, I am convinced that cooked food in Malaysia is a lot cheaper than in the Philippines.
Thanks for showing the detailed prices and accounting for your actual expenses vis-a-vis your budget.
That sounds like an idea. I've yet to see a Filipino in KL do a comparison of good prices in grocery stores between KL and Manila, and then cooked their own home made meals. But be reminded, that the imported goods are very expensive in Malaysia. So far, there's no subsidy from the government for imported goods including rice. But the local goods and produce are very affordable.

Go to sarawak malaysia for Gawai festival you will love it free foods and loaded of drinks and good liquor until you drop! All out during Gawai! Name the most expensive liquor and beer they have it and for free !
Although Kuala Lumpur is a full-fledged metropolitan city, it offers something for every budget and preference. All you need to do is do your homework before coming over for your holiday trip. If you need tips or suggestions, you can just call a Grab cab and have a chat with the driver. They'll give you some tips on where to eat and visit when you're in the food capital of the world, Malaysia!😊

What a wonderful challenge. Wirh USD17 per couple, yes you can enjoy the affordable street food for breakfast, lunch and dinner, and navigate around the city using the effective and efficient public transportation. It's still a big value for your money in KL.
To start the day, just have a very simple breakfast meal like basic nasi lemak or roti canai and teh tarik, for both, it'll cost around more or less RM10 only. For lunch, have a fried rice or fried noodle with iced tea, both for more or less around RM20. For dinner, have a Ramly burger, for standard burger, around RM10 for both, for special burger, around RM15 for both. You see, you spend more or less than RM45 and the rest can be used for snacks, drinks and transportation. You can even get RM1 popsicle at one of the grocery store in the city.
You guys ended the lovely day with the beautiful symphony fountain in KLCC, with still some remaining Ringgit in your budget. And waking up to have roti canai and teh tarik at 3.00am in the morning, using the leftover money from the budget. Awesome.

Tome was eating that bowl of noodles and pork skin talking about how one bowl would have took care of both because it was so big and full of noodles. I was in Maine with a girl and another couple. We heard about this tiny place that was a great place to eat and it was so far out of the way you would not even think it was anything but someone's house. Well the guy and I love seafood so we ordered the large bowl of Fish chowder. The two girls ordered fish and chips. After I made the order the guy and I went out so I could have a smoke and he just needed more fresh air because I got his so drunk the night before that he was still hung over.
The guy said I don't know why I bother drinking with you I always end up wishing I didn't. I said well because when ever you drink with me you have a good time. He thinks for a moment and started laughing and said yes I do. I was done smoking and we walked in. The girls had their Fish and Chips and we have our two large bowls of Fish Chowder. The girl's said OMG we can't eat all this. The Fish was bigger then the damn plate and they each had 2 large fish and the fish was hanging over both sides of the plate. Then they had a separate dish for their French fries. The guy and I started laughing and looking at out Fish Chowder and said this is enough to feed all 4 people . The Fish was Haddock and with every spoon full you would get a chunk of fish. The guy and I decided to make a bet to see who could eat it all. The girls wanted no part of the challenge. Well we both ate it all but we had all we could to stand up. We ate so much we had to let one of the girls drive.
I was feeling like I was going to bust and I said to the guy I don't know why I let you talk me into doing this. I am not sure I can hold it all down. The guy has an evil smile and said because you have fun with me.

Well, as a tourist, one should have funds to spend. It seems that food is afforable there but it also depends where one goes to eat.
Attractions are pricey eg zoo, bird park, twin towers, aquarium, kl tower.

Tom wakes Lay up to say there is money left over and they go out to eat. I was with this girl that had kids and getting them to go to bed was not going to happen. But I knew of a trick that works every time. So at 9 PM I said ok lets all go for a ride. The girl said where. I said where ever the car takes up. She said I would like to know where we are going. I said then you can stay here and I will go with out you. The Kids were all ready and I made them each be sure they did their bathroom break. Loaded up the car and started driving. I swear I didn't even drive 5 miles and the kids were already sleeping. But something Magical happened the girl I was with never said a word. I was in heaven. I didn't want to drive to end. I drove all through the night. I drove a little over 400 miles. By the time every one woke up I was just pulling in to a Dunkin Doughnuts got all something to eat and drink and drove up a Mountain to watch the sunrise.
After I started to drive back home. Another 8 hours. The girl called her sister and the sister said why didn't you call we could have spent the day together? She said I didn't know he was going to bring us here. Then the girl said we should have called my sister we could have stayed over and visited her for a couple days. I said why the F would I ever want to do that.?
