All the old films are great but give me a serious jolt at all the lack of health and safety. Smoking on deck to name just one. No PFDs, hard hats, safty clothing, gloves, goggles. The sling methods and use of explosives with a hazmat cargo!!!! and so many more.
Feel free to add to my list and lets see how many we can find🤣

Worried about dropping a tank on the pontoon but explosives and a chain ripping it apart is fine. Also a ship that has a hull that is strengthened for ice got taken out by a ferry.

Do you know why elephants have red eyes? Because of that hiding in a cherry tree is simply better.. Have you ever seen an elephant in/on a cherry tree? No? So you can see how good they are able to hide with their red eyes.

@@alexveldhuis6004Hihihi, Good grief, I can almost hear the roar and trumpeting of the poor hidden elephants. By the way: It would have been much nicer if you had written: Here's another elephant joke, instead of "No, the joke is:" But no matter at all: Yours is a great joke too and I will store it in my joke compartment! Indeed with a slight change that I hope you will allow me. Because there are no giraffes in the jungle, i will replace it with apes (chimpanzees for example).

It was one big circus to show to the world how concerned the politicians were. As a helicopter pilot I had to bring teams in fully protected gear on bord of the Mont Louis, so that it could be filmed by TV. A bit farther out of camera sight Smith tack workers were already preparing the salvages in normal clothes.

Seriously I'm laughing out loud. On deck they wear suits to prevent any risks from contamination, while inside the casualty they wear tight, even white shorts 😂😂. On deck, just roll a sigaret with dirty polluted fingers and smoke it till the end. The Dutch could be perfect for tobacco commercials, I've never seen so many smoking people on such a dangerous situation. Watch more Dutch salvation films and you will see what I mean 😂😂

So funny compared to the safety culture we have now. The whole smoking thing reminds me when my parents chain smoked while driving in the family station wagon with all the windows rolled up & at least 3 kids thrown in the back without any safety measures. Plus, my Dad went everywhere with a flask so I’m sure he was juiced up while driving

This has got to be the stupidest salvage operations in history. Push the ship to a sand bar and split. Uh how about get it to the sand bar and wait until the salvors get there. Then maybe a coffer damn could have been welded around the hole to keep it from sinking.
