Wilt was simply the best ever!!
Wilt didn’t sub out of game that’s basic wilt knowledge
Sorry but being able to score 50 almost every game while playing literal the entire game almost every single game is impossible to be overrated when we’re considering how much faster things were back in those days. That stamina is unmatched by anyone all time
And then he's athletic body would still dominate todays game easily
Even if it were 40ppg so what?
48.5 minutes per game and never fouled out
If this was Michael Jordan,we wouldn't be having this conversation, quit hating!
You’ve played basketball before, right? Either way - go outside or to the gym and shoot 40 shots, even if they are just layups, but also run down and touch the opposite restricted area between each layup. Do you know how tiring it is to shoot 40 shots per game? While contesting every opponents shot, running up and down the floor for 48 minutes a game? I’d argue it makes his feat more impressive. Just my opinion
It’s exhausting playing 40 minutes of 2k basketball let alone actually getting on a real court and hooping
Man, you want someone to average 50 points with 25 shots and 25 free throws? This is ridiculous. He averaged 50 period. But he's no Steph Curry with a 40 inch vertical tho I'll give you that
Steph curry has a 36 inch vert 4 inches gonna make him god? You have only 4 inches doesn’t make you god!!
wilt had a 50 inch veritcial and on't try to say 'no" he did win the NCAA big 8 high jump three years straight without much practice. his jumping height in 1956 would have place him 11th place in the olympics that year. so he was a world class high jumper, and you don't get to be a to p50 in the world high jumper without having in sane veritical no matter what style

HE HAD NO REAL COMP. Jesus Christ this is annoying. The talent level in the 60s was horribleeeee. The old heads in the comments are DELUSIONAL. Yes no one will ever do it again bc there’s too much TALENT in the nba today. That doesn’t make it unnaturally amazing. Put Jayson Tatum at 6,8 in the 1960s NBA and he will average 100 off of dunks. Put AI in the 60s and he’d average 100 of of Kay ups. Put lebron James and Jordan in the 60s nba and they will average 200 points per game. Obviously I’m exaggerating but you get the point
Stop hating ! Damn it is what it is!
Wilt was a GOD.
How come no other player had those kind of numbers back then? No stat padding.
Name any other player with that stamina. I'll wait
He was stronger than Shaq bc Shaq could only bench 475 pounds while wilt could bench 600 pounds
25 blowouts out of 80 games
You don't adjust down minutes because to actually play those minutes and be that productive is almost impossible.
Lastly players couldn't even hold up to this workload without career ending injuries so why bring Wilt down to their level??
no its not overrated its just rated fine for that time
Like 38 points is not phenomenal still the 2nd most points averaged ever he averaged 44 points Mike 37 harden 36 and Kobe 35 wilt was phenomenal no matter what era
It's everyone else's fault that they aren't still scoring in blowouts.
How greedy are we if we even CONSIDER Wilts 50 ppg overrated??? Maybe he did take a lot of shots, but still, it’s 50 points. EVERY. SINGLE. GAME.
Still don't matter that's 3pts away from 40pts
Is your argument really "he played too long each game😡😡😡"
It's only "overrated" to Jordansexuals, LeBron stans, and Kobephiles who are desperate and needs a wing player to be recognized as the "Greatest Player Ever." Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Wilt, and Bill Russell were far superior to those guys. Deal with it, millennials. David Stern deceived you, BIG TIME. You can't give Basketball GOAT to a scrawny little shooting guard. They don't rebound, block shots, and dominate the paint.
Skilled centers are far mor devastating. It's not "bully ball." It's establishing turf and taking over the game at both ends.
Teams still wanted him at 50. Take your stats and be quiet
He shot 50 percent? Dude what are you complaining about
bro is fuming about Wilt's 48.5 mpg, a normal person might aswell ask the coach to bench them after 5 minutes. Also he had somewhat types of players in his team and his coach said him to average 50, so this is basically what he did.
U gotta be High.
50.4. Is 50.4.
End of story
Go ahead, have Shaq play 48 minutes full speed. Next night he will collapse at the buzzer, By game #3 he will just be walking the entire 4th quarter, and by game #4 he will fake an injury. No possible way Shaq could play all 48, and if you held a gun on him to stay out there, his averages would actually go down.
Only center to lead league in assists.
Abdul -Jabbar,I think, played 20years,was that stat padding? He had scoring record over 20years
For context, wilt’s minutes-adjusted PPG of 38.9 would be 3rd all time behind wilt chamberlain, and Wilt chamberlain
This video is stupid
So you are saying that the 50 ppg stat is actually overrated. 😅
@@FavreianVengeance …..no I’m saying that even on reduced minutes (which is a stupid argument because no one currently COULD play the entire game for a whole season), it is still a higher scoring season than literally any other player in the history of the game. Higher than Jordan’s best season, higher than Kobe’s, higher than Lebron’s etc. Players today can’t even play all 82 games. He played every second of all 82 games and STILL scored at an unprecedented rate
No matter how you slice it, no one else in the history of the game has ever done it
Wilt overated ! You got to be kidding. He was paid to play, not load management , like these soft players today.
How you play 48.5 minutes smh that’s ridiculous to do every single game
People forget wilt was the best player on his team literally the rest sucked but hunk about why he had to play them minutes and score them points he was the star player their only chance to win lol thats why he has all them stats and less championships … there where better teams at that time 💯💯
Wilt the stilt he was a bad man
Disrespect. You talk like you know everything
Was Kobe's 81 overrated? You have to be exceptional when other teams know coming that you average 50 ppg and you finish the season 50points a game.unstoppable.Also 25 rebounds per game the same season.30-22 for his career.points/rebounds
Was bench press of at least 500lbs ? Never fouled out
So basically, with the adjusted stats, Wilt Chamberlain would still lead this era in scoring. What really was the point of this video. Overrated where?
Sooo.. how about the other dozens of records that he set before he retired?
