That being said the coverage is awesome, but valid observation!
I wonder if those spit outs are because of the age of the baskets or the amount they've been played on. I've played some courses that get a lot of traffic and the galvanization on the chains has smoothed out and spit outs are common.
do you wonder? course gets less traffic than most. baskets get ran on less than more traditional old school type courses and were replaced only a short while back. like four years new i think.

Hey Jomez, I have an idea on the replay shot, how about a 50-50 left/right split screen, one from the player view and the other from the catch cam. We can watch the one we want or both because we can pause and replay whatever you put up.
There's definitely something wrong with those baskets. 3 spit-outs just on 1 card when the putts were perfectly center and hitting the pole, that's just bad for the sport if you see that happen so often.
after 2 rounds of terrible results from the video cards (compared to the top 10), i'm starting to wonder if being on camera is detrimentally effecting these guys' games? whadda ya think? has anybody else noticed a similar trend at other events?
Would love some kind of PIP or split screen of the player's pov (over-the-shoulder shot) superimposed on the incoming disc shot (basket view), combined with a glowing dot to track the disc.
As cool as that stuff would be, these disc golf media companies aren’t operating on ESPN budget or workforce. They’re already doing all they can do, to work into the night and push these rounds out next-day for free. Adding any new on-screen features that are used on every shot, ends up taking that much more time, as someone has to sit at the computer and make all that stuff happen. Plus, it has to be timely, in order to get commentary recorded. In almost all cases for these DG media companies, Your commentators are also current players, so you’ve got to stay caught up, and be able to finish the final round broadcast before they leave town for the next event.
Does jomez pay the players that they are filming? I feel like depending on the likeness of the players their videos could get more or less views which in turn can bring in more money.
I would guess they do, but I've wondered that myself. When they have high level pros like Conrad and Heimburg for micd up practice rounds, they get to plug their sponsors but I'd guess they probably get paid too. Maybe $100ish
Spit outs like these are normal. But look at the different reactions of these sportsmen :D Bradley is like in puberty not on the top DG level :D
3 роки тому
add - Bradley discarding a disc after his putt was unsportsmanlike conduct, breaking two points in the rules, deliberately if anyone is able to write what and why such behavior should be punished. It's bullshit from Feldberg how discgolf builds and cultivates self-confidence and emotion control etc etc ... well, just here in the records it is beautiful to see how the rules of discgolf do not work and the players themselves cough at them and actually do what they want. It is a disgrace for the whole sport, which is presented a little differently than the reality. The saddest thing is that these so-called pros should lead by example, but they do the exact opposite.
Even just a dash of humility when Jerm is called out for being wrong or off would make the commentary a lot more watchable. Especially compared to when Uli gets dumped on and clowned for days for even the slightest misstep. The tone of stuck up, never wrong, know-it-all arrogance is not necessarily a quality character base to be building on. That sounds like a lot to be asking for since it seems to be an adjustment to his whole character base but like I said, even the slightest speck of humility sprinkled in here and there as opposed to the uncomfortable "I'm never wrong" narcissistic defense mechanisms would be a really welcomed breath of fresh air.
and how do you suggest these magical sky people "improve baskets"? Every single basket has spit points not because the baskets aren't as high quality as they can get, but because the thing we play with, ya know the disc, is such a variable that no single basket can account of the billions upon billions of ways a disc can hit the chains. A millimeter of angle difference or a mile per hour more of speed or a half a rotation per second less creates a different physical situation where a disc can either stay in the basket or jump out. There is no way to make a perfect basket and "this" is going to happen no matter what or who is producing targets.
