Before my first driving lesson I thought "This is gonna be easy I played tons of racing games since I was a kid" stepped into a car and took me 2 seconds to realize I didn't know shit 😂
Same here. I even had problems with clutch since I hadn't used it ever in racing games. Also my driving instructor taught me wrong: "Just raise the clutch a little bit until the car wants move, then give it some gas." Took me like 4-5 driving lessons to learn how to really use the clutch.
I drive illegally, when I’m allowed to anyway There’s a little highway between my Town and my Home, and about halfway between there’s a bridge with parking to the side Sometimes we’ll stop there and I’ll take the wheel home The highway is one lane both ways, I only get nervous when a semi truck is going the other way I’d say I’m pretty good for an illegal driver, I can get driving lessons sometime after February, since by then I’ll be old enough and the snow will be gone

@Jared Devan I think you are missing the point. You can clearly make the distinction between a game like Minecraft and an actual violent videogame, as you pointed out. Most uniformed people and media will not make that distinction. For them, all videogames = bad. So yea, Minecraft is part of that debate.
@Jared Devan That's fair. I was saying that to point out that OP's joke does work, but ultimately you are right. Gamers like you and I know violent games are not to blame for violent behavior IRL (well, with the exception of rage quit, but that does not cause murders as the media would like to believe, just broken tv's and controllers lol). So cheers mate :) Have a nice day
And 80+ years of Bugs Bunny and the gang dropping anvils and throwing coyotes off of cliffs weren't violent? That's some delicious violence! Tom the cat shooting Jerry with a shotgun after Jerry slams a wooden window sash down on Tom's neck. Top Cat causing auto accidents by crossing the street to throw off pursuit by the cops. Yogi charging tourists to make them run away and leave their pic-a-nic baskets behind? - - - Based on the violence makes you violent argument, I should be a serial killer. to be honest... i terrified the teacher... but not cause due video games, no... i had done some research and a few training rounds with my dads car before...
There's two main issues we need to address as first world nations. One - We need to hold our governments, teachers, and parents accountable for the violence in children. You let a child get bullied then act suprised when they snap and lash out either with a knife or guns? You've failed as a teacher. You act suprised that your child managed to get knives and guns? You've failed as a parent. You don't put down any legislation to protect these children from the incompetent teachers and parents? You've failed as a government. Don't blame video games for your incompetent behaviour. Two - Yes, video games CAN cause psychological changes in the brain, and while most are positive, some are negative. Parents must be the ones that handle this. Don't give your children games they aren't ready for. A 7-year-old shouldn't play GTA, so do your research before you buy the game. Teach your children how to react to these stimuli correctly, and teach them the difference between fact and fiction. The best way to protect children from the very few negative effects of video games is to set aside time (at least three hours) for you and your child to play the game together, even if you just sit and watch. Then discuss what's going on in the game. But pay attention to the game, help your child with the difficult puzzles, but still allow them to get to the solution on their own. This method results in a deeper understanding of your child, and your child will be less likely to lash out. Trust me, it works and you will become great friends with your child, and they will be less likely to misbehave and ignore you.
I really love how in an effort to show that games are bad, they inadvertently got people to prove that games are healthier to do than other frequently accepted pastimes.
@@rulde yes they did, "idiot". They just we're not mainstream intertainment. How do you think pilots learned how to fly 747's for the first time? Just got in and hoped they could fly it? 😂😂
Parent/Adult: Video games are making kids violent! Also Parent/Adult: Gives their 4 year old GTA 5 for their birthday I agree that video games can contribute to violent behaviour it's the parents and teachers job to teach the kids what's right and wrong before they get to influenced so yeah giving your 4 year old call of duty probably wont help. it's the parents job to say "No timmy you can't have that game until your old enough and know the difference between right and wrong". however i do also believe it's not just video games, look at TV shows and movies, games, behaviour of other children, behaviour of parents, genes etc....
@@officially_pink6735 Honestly, I The Boys, and Quentin Tarantino movies, and Deadpool are probably more a cause for violence in real life than Call of Duty and GTA. I learn more about how to hurt people from Quentin Tarantino than Call of Duty and GTA and other places.
Maybe if Mommy and Daddy would stop shouting at each other (or hitting each other!!) and raise their children to respect the sovereignty of others and their property, like our grandparents USED TO, we wouldn't be having these problems and this discussion.

Every time I tell my mom I have ANY kind of problem she says it’s video games? „Oh? You broke your arm? No wonder you are just sitting inside of your video games!“ FFS NO! It’s because I went outside, acted dumb, and fell from a garage roof!
I drive extremely recklessly in games, but in real life, I still haven’t passed driving exam because I can’t go past 50mph for fear of crashing like in games. My driving coach would yell at me “go faster! It’s a 60mph road, why are you going 35?”
For me all those years of playing different driving games it was actually easier to learn it. Only real difficulty came with changing gear. But you learn it pretty fast as long as you do it regularly.
Videogames getting blamed for these things is just because the people blaming them don't understand videogames. Back in the Renaissance when more people were becoming literate and books were being written in languages the majority of people understood, older people began treating books like the older people now treat videogames.
I'm from Australia, and I used to play quite a few car racing games (and games related to driving vehicles). First time i got into a car, I was actually surprised on how similar it was to the simulations in arcades. Even my driving instructor was surprised on how quickly I got the hang of it. So whoever said that it is bad for learning to drive is an idiot, because it actually helped me learn to drive.

My wife is a teacher. I agree with the logic that it's expected behavior for kids to hit and whatnot, but the argument you present about teachers complaining about it to get out of it is 99% not the case. Teachers are so restricted now from handling situations like that. Can't touch the kids, can't yell at the kids and hurt their feelings, can't time them out cuz feelings. Administration is terrible at backing up teachers, and tend to favor parents in almost all situations nowadays. Any time situations like this arise teachers fear for their jobs because literally anything can happen because they're not allowed to take control of the situation. 1 adult to 35 kids is no way to operate.

Same here. I even had problems with clutch since I hadn't used it ever in racing games. Also my driving instructor taught me wrong: "Just raise the clutch a little bit until the car wants move, then give it some gas." Took me like 4-5 driving lessons to learn how to really use the clutch.

There’s a little highway between my Town and my Home, and about halfway between there’s a bridge with parking to the side
Sometimes we’ll stop there and I’ll take the wheel home

@Jared Devan You're talking about the same Minecraft where you can hit people with a sword and shoot them with a bow and arrow, right?
@Jared Devan I think you are missing the point. You can clearly make the distinction between a game like Minecraft and an actual violent videogame, as you pointed out. Most uniformed people and media will not make that distinction. For them, all videogames = bad. So yea, Minecraft is part of that debate.
@Jared Devan That's fair. I was saying that to point out that OP's joke does work, but ultimately you are right. to be honest... i terrified the teacher... but not cause due video games, no... i had done some research and a few training rounds with my dads car before...
There's two main issues we need to address as first world nations.
One -
We need to hold our governments, teachers, and parents accountable for the violence in children.
Two -
Yes, video games CAN cause psychological changes in the brain, and while most are positive, some are negative.

Parent/Adult: Video games are making kids violent!
Also Parent/Adult: Gives their 4 year old GTA 5 for their birthday
I agree that video games can contribute to violent behaviour it's the parents and teachers job to teach the kids what's right and wrong before they get to influenced so yeah giving your 4 year old call of duty probably wont help. it's the parents job to say "No timmy you can't have that game until your old enough and know the difference between right and wrong". however i do also believe it's not just video games, look at TV shows and movies, games, behaviour of other children, behaviour of parents, genes etc....

For me all those years of playing different driving games it was actually easier to learn it. Only real difficulty came with changing gear. But you learn it pretty fast as long as you do it regularly.
In5aNeGuY but I’m really bad at driving in games, so as soon as speed picks up, I panic and crash. Hence my difficulty in real life
Videogames getting blamed for these things is just because the people blaming them don't understand videogames. Back in the Renaissance when more people were becoming literate and books were being written in languages the majority of people understood, older people began treating books like the older people now treat videogames.
