Oh finnaly a student! I'm struggling so hard....i'm a teacher in advance and i'm looking for a replacement for my pc. I only use my pc for word, PowerPoint, Google drive, pdf's....and Netflix. So my question is, do you recommend it for a student?

@@briandebolle4520 Hello there, for me personally I take notes by hands or sometimes make summaries with the keyboard, for that I use Samsung Notes because it has alot of options and the s pen works flawlessly with it.
@@briandebolle4520 its basically a way better than chromebook but it is still not a full windows laptop if that make sense. there are still some limits. also check samsungdex on reddit for help etc. but if youre comparing it to a laptop. pro: very convenient bc there is no "boot up time" so all are ready like a phone. super lightweight so it is not heavy on your backpack. literally the best screen you can get right now so good for entertainment plus 120hz. im planning to get a third party bluetooth full keyboard and a mouse as i think that is a better set up n cheaper. but i have read that it cant open more than one word document or excel. theres a workaround to get 2. as long as you only do simple tasks. youll be ok. but for like excel, i read you cant do the complex addon for simultaneous calculations. honestly if you have a back up 2010 old laptop. you can just do what you cant in the laptop then use the tab for most of it. also the s-pen is crazyyy. so check youtube videos for those.
@@briandebolle4520 also if youre a teacher you can use this during lectures where u can use dex or mirror it (wired or wirelessly) to a big tv or projector. so it will project your notes and writings from the tab to projector. pretty sure ipad can do this too tho. but ipad has ios system which is very tight compared to android where pretty much the limit you can do is your imagination. file transfer in android is like usb drive (drag and drop) but iOS needs itunes for everythingggg

How is it for reading in the dark? Is it too big/awkward for ebooks in Portrait mode?
Would you get s7 or s7+ for reading e-text books and notes? Is the extra size needed or hindrance?

It's actually very common to use the rear-facing camera to take pictures. That's what it's there for. That's it's popular to use photo and video editing apps on tablets with strong processors, and one of the reasons tablets have strong processors. The front-facing camera absolutely needs to be better, but the rear-facing camera is as integral.

Literally the only negative i can talk about this tablet is the lack of backlight on the folio case. Other than that what a phenomenal piece of tech
Ya that really is it, backlight would have made this essentially flawless
but it is not the tablet so why does it matter is like talking about iPhone and saying that the AirPods make you think negative about it

I love my Galaxy Tab S7! It replaced my 9.7 " iPad pro.
How has this been this is the same situation I'm in now. I've just really been wanting to upgrade it. Ipad pros are to expensive for what they offer so I got the tab s7+ 256gb. If anything I may return it if samsung announced a new device as their upcoming event is on the day it's delivered
Is s7 or s7+ best for e-text books and taking notes for e-text and while watching lectures?

Could you please tell me if there's a way to force UA-cam videos into full screen without the gray bars horizontally on the top and bottom.. like you can do on the note 10 plus phone for most Samsung phones

Instagram doesn’t look good on an iPad either. It’s a phone sized window cut out of the entire screen, surrounded by black borders. Your only resizing option is (guess what?) a blown up phone app.
Apparently you can create a webpage shortcut from Samsung browser, and it works better than the actual app.
To use apps in landscape mode use good lock it helps amazing
Maybe just use web apps, Instagram's web app is much better!

I am so tired of people harping on Android tablets just because they don't know how to use a tablet properly in the Android ecosystem. All modern apps are made to scale well from tablet to phone. With a rotation app you can force everything to landscape or even pick and choose which ones you want to rotate or not. This is not Apple they don't have different operating systems for tablet and a phone stop comparing Apple to Android it's apples and oranges. Lol

Nice non technical review. Been using my S7+ (512) for three months now. Don't have the same nit picky gripes but that's me. Overall, extremely happy with the device. Does everything I need it to do apps and all. No, for me anyway it's not a complete Windows laptop replacement. Close but sometimes one needs a full Widows computer. I use my laptop a helluva lot less though.
Im using the s7+ for school and every app I use is actually made for tablets. The apps I use are mostly Microsoft google, samsung, and blackbaord (which the app looks so much better than the website).Also if you use the student discount it goes down to $525. I am not even going to download Instagram/twitter im not trying to get distracted. So if that was something worrying you don't. :)

I've seen a lot of insurance agents using tablets while they inspect your car for damage and use the camera, and service shops at dealerships use tablets to bring up appointments, service requests and take pictures all around the car to document any prior damage while checking it in so the customer can't claim it happen there
I do that anytime I'm involved in an accident, best practice for some shady folks out there

I just got one for $380 and I'm really impressed! It's actually a lot better than I though when I was initially looking at the Samsung tablets. I still need a keyboard, but I've always thought that Dex is a good Chromebook replacement so I'm glad you said that,,, even though I've never had a chromebook 😅
Decent review, but the comments about the front facing camera are absurd. Are you not aware of what just about every laptop and gaming laptop has? Many of those including the Surface Book are 3X the cost and only have 720P or 1080P cameras. Can it improve even more? Do we wish they were as good as the back camera, who wouldn't...but to be so ignorant of where 99% of the market is that is even pricier and how horrible the cameras are for those devices, not to mention chromebooks and other tablets...is absurd.

Its a great tablet and i dont find any limitations as yet. I have vbeen using Samsung tabs for a long time since they first produced tablet. Its great. Camera etc all are okay for me. After all one device cant satisfy everyone.

If you think the S7s are expensive, wait until you see the price of the iPad Pros. They are $150 more expensive and don't even come with the free pencil, that's an extra $130, so the iPad Pros are like $300 more expensive. And they are both similar in performance, but imo, the S7s are even better! So it makes no sense for me to pay an extra $300 for a worse tablet. That's like half the S7s price.
What I don't like about iPads, is the limited iPadOS, overpricing, no microSD storage and no free pencil. That said, they are still great tablets.
People often complain about Instagram on Android tabs, which looks gorgeous! Very HD. While on iPads it doesn't even exist! It's just an ugly phone version that you can stretch. I find more unoptimised apps on iPadOS on my iPad Mini 5 than on my Tab S7. And the Good Lock app solves the landscape mode issue for some apps that don't have it.
The S7 is the multitasking King! It's a beast for multitasking. I can put 5 videos or more at the same time and they run smoothly, no lag or crashes.
Anyway, nice video tho!

I sent my s7+ back after release.
I had issues with touch sensitivity (touches being registered when a fingering is hovering pretty high over the screen).
Have you heard any of any other people having this issues. You put fingering by mistake 😉. Andy England 🇬🇧👍

Great review only thing I differ with is that the tab S7 plus is not light and it is definitely not a one-handed tech instrument. I love it and I don't have small hands LOL but it is not the lightest tablet that's for sure, but it is the best.
Did you know in dex mode you can activate a cool keyboard feature (only with the Samsung keyboard) where you can control with a quick switch where you can use the keyboard with say your phone & quickly switch back to your tab?

@@NewStuffTV1 you have to be in dex. Then with the keyboard attached go to Dex labs and you should see it in keyboard settings

If you install good lock app you can manage all the apps in landscape mode and make the windows as you like . Just like in Dex mode 🤩🤓
Just use a screen orientation app..the screen will do what you want. I use Instagram in landscape mode all the time

Is instagram for iPad work any better? My iPad pro 10.5 instagram app just shows portrait mode and basically looks like an iPhone app on an iPad.
I made a video on how to get it in landscape. Also, on this tablet you can resize the windows so it makes the viewing experience better.

Regarding the cost of buying stuff at launch, you're right not to worry because you've been able to use it for longer than everyone else. Thanks for watching and I'm glad you enjoyed the video. In this video I'm wearing the Samsung Galaxy Watch 3. Not long after shooting this video I was introduced to the Amazfit T-Rex and GTR 2. I absolutely love them and haven't worn my Galaxy watches since.
I love this tablet! The thing that surprise me is how light and comfortable to hold it is! The S7 is lighter but for some reason this feels lighter and more enjoyable to hold even though it weighs more.

After 3.1 software update, goodlock app from Samsung app store, and go into Multistar, mode to turn every apps to landscape mode or download screen orientation app from Google app store, and can do the same.

I totally agree on your point on emojis!! I'm an emoji guy myself 😂 As for having apps on landscape while not on Dex, you can activate developer options, and find the option that says "force apps to landscape" or something like that. Messes up some things like watching stories on IG, but works great most of the time. I ain't complaining about the camera (I've usually got good enough resolution for online meetings) but I do agree with your points. And yeah, this tablet feels like an all in one station for work and play, I'm afraid of burning the battery out too fast since I feel like I'd use this maybe even 5 years from now!

In regards to the keyboard emoji ... the only thing I have found to get around it all is to press the FN button and language button at the same time and it will bring up the on screen keyboard -__- not the best but it's alright for now
I got a great deal on preorder. I got 400 for my S6 and 100 discount using Hapi app. Free case. Not used keyboard case yet. I've not had to use my laptop for years working on Samsung tablets. This id definitely a laptop replacement. I use the S3 S-pen; I find the design suits me better. I agree about the button on the new pen. Thanks for the review.

Thanks for checking it out! I had not used a screen protector prior to this video. However, I just ordered a plastic one. I chose not to do a glass one because it will add more weight. There is plenty of room between the keyboard case and screen for you to use a glass protector and you should be ok if that's what you choose.

I've tried a few different OS options bet keep coming back to the android tablet as my main laptop. Wish they made a budget one with DeX mode
I didn't quite understand his gripes with the front camera. In an endless sea of not only tablets, but high end computers that still have 720p cameras to video chat with, this tablet (and the iPad Pro 2020 for that matter) has a 1080p 30fps wide angle camera with f2.0 aperture (not ultra wide like he wants, but even the iPad isn't a wide angle). Compare that the iPad's 1080p 30/60fps f2.2 aperture lens, and take into account that the iPad is much more expensive, I don't know what he's expecting. He talks about how "Who even takes pictures with the rear camera of a tablet?" - despite the fact that people use it for scanning documents and possibly switching from front to rear camera during during video call to show the other party something, not necessarily for taking pictures like you would with a phone. For that matter, what phone has a camera that's better on the front than the back?
I don't know, he's the first reviewer I've seen to say the front camera is garbage (not that he has to say it's good, it's his honest review). I just personally don't know why a 1080p webcam on a tablet isn't good enough.
Completely agree. His comments about it are ridiculous. As someone who has owned god knows how many laptops with 720P front facing cameras and how everyone was falling over backwards that the Microsoft Surface book had a 1080P one, the fact that he is complaining about the one on this one which is much better than even that one is ridiculous.

To be fair the Instagram app on iPad sucks even more than it does on an Android tablet.
I disagree about the rear camera. I use a tablet for work and when I finish a project I take some pics for documentation purposes and the rear camera is good for that.

I disagree that the rear camera is not needed. I use this for construction supervision and the camera is essential for me. The first tablet I bought had a terrrible camera so I had to take pictures with my phone the move them over to my app. Love the camera on this tablet. Sure I look crazy using it as a camera so slap me.

I can't believe your only gripe about the keyboard cover is the color! haha. That trackpad (honestly...I think it might be android's fault) bc I connected my magic trackpad and was getting slightly better, but still pretty horrible lag and overall weird glitches. It really killed it for me. I got on promo with the purchase so it was only 97 bucks but I requested extended return window because aside from the keys...and the back panel to cover the s-pen, it's total trash.
Just got the keyboard today. Sheeesh!!
About the cameras, I agree and disagree:
Agree: For the reasons you stated this device needs a high quality front facing camera.
Disagree: High quality back facing camera is needed.
Quite often using a tablet I need to scan documents. Lay down the tablet, pull out my phone, capture the image, await for the capture to sync from phone to tablet does not make sense; instead use the tablet. What happens when in a location with extremely poor WiFi, you must wait until a proper signal is available. However, using the tablet camera the phone issue is solved, finish the document, text, or email. Now when receiving the need WiFi signal it is sent.
Tablets need high quality cameras for both front and rear.
