Too underrated. A gentlemen in real life, too. But he and Bruce were very different in their skill sets.
Indeed
Different fighting style but DEFINITELY has his spirit! Ive always admired Rhee! He moves like water!
Very good indeed
I've always been a fan of Phillip ever since watching him in Best Of The Best. His technique is sharp. Unfortunately, he came around at a time when Van Dam, Norris, Schwarzenegger, and Segal, were in high demand. He could've made some more and highly acclaimed films.
Still waiting for his return to Netflix or something Another Best of the Best or an earlier adaptation of this series. “Best of the Best “
@@MARTIAL_STRIKER If he does return, he needs to play unique roles which aren't the same ol' same ol' if he expects to have endurance. People these days want something different than the past.
Yes 🙌 indeed
He fights like poetry... So much charisma. His own interpretation of Bruce
@c-4839 exactly what I am saying he really is great 😊
His technique is textbook.
Clean
Philip Rhee is an EXTREMELY Underrated Acton 🌟!! He's in the same class as Don the Dragon 🐉 Wilson, Jean Claude Van Damme, Benny the jet Rodriguez, DEFINITELY Steve Segal & Cynthia Rothie. Asian 🌟 don't get mentioned in The USA 🇺🇸 . Except Bruce Lee & Jacky Chan they're often forgotten 😢! Pretty 😔
Agreed 👍
Our family knows the Rhee's Simon and Philip. Our daughter trained with Simon for 5 years straight, 3 times/wk. Philip would on occasion would come by at testing week. He was quite social. It was memorable. Our daughter ended up a Regional Tournament Champion in 2 categories. Quality instruction.
Thanks for sharing this 💯🏆
So under rated, he’s one of the best and one of a kind in his time, but you have Jet Li and Donnie Yen those three men was my favorite since Bruce Lee
Yes 🙌 and Don’t forget Jackie Chan ?
Awesome, definitely channelling the Spirit of Bruce Lee.Love this guy!
Same here!
Ciekawe jak by żył Bruca Lea mistrz sztuk walki co by powiedział na technikę bruca Lee był wielki mistrz geniusz sztuk walki
All guys who work in the genre of martial arts will be strongly bound to bruce lee because he was first guy who introduced this genre worldwide...
Fact
He paved the road and now many have imitated, copy duplicated, and even surpassed him Jackie Chan, for instance !

Super film dobry aktor nie ma już z nim filmów
Unfortunately as he has not been active in the movie world for a while now.
He is incredible
💯👍🔥🔥
He could be Lui Kang
@frederikkleijn8151 yes he could have been a good one for that part !
A great man
He is fantastic
♥️
One of my idols growing up. Best of the best 1 was awesome. Best of the best 2 was insanely good. But after that, the story line just went down the toilet. Phillip is still awesome though
I loved Best of the Best as a kid....that said...he no where on Bruce Lee's level.
Hmmm 🤔 debatable
@@MARTIAL_STRIKER whoever debating that losing LOL
@theluminary5324 fish tales !
@@MARTIAL_STRIKER "Be like water"...now say a Philip Rhee phrase...
@@MARTIAL_STRIKER That's not debatable, what are you even talking about? Rhee is a great martial artist, one of my favourites but he's nowhere near Lee's level in any way.
He's one of the greatest, but he didn't get the exposure that he deserves, they were holding him back too much because of his race.
✅
A great martial artist.👍💥👍
True
Always liked Philip Rhee but he is very different from Bruce Lee in fighting style, speed, character, and charisma.
He is indeed
Du bist so gut ich bin sehr großen Fehn von dir ich liebe alle deine Filme schade das du nicht mehrere hast ❤❤😊❤
A Masters work
Awesome
💯💯
Great

He is good
Exactly 👍 awesome
Dobry film i aktor
Yes he was so underrated?? I Wonder why?
Since Tommy has become a dad in "Best of the Best 3" Phillip Rhee should release #4 and introduce "Tommy's daughter, Stephanie" as a young woman with her father's skills.
Yes he just disappeared after the 90’s would be good to see another Best of the Best! A Netflix mini series would make for a great show
@@MARTIAL_STRIKER AGREED 💯!!!
Best of The Best 4: Without Warning came out in 1998.
Tommy wasn't a dad, he was an uncle to his sister and her family in Best of the Best 3.
@@marcellawong229
I MEANT "Best of the Best #4" when he became a Dad.
MY TYPO ERROR!!
He's like Bruce Lee reincarnated.
He’s is Definitely inspired by Bruce Lees work
He should have been the 90s comic version of Liu Kang. Look it up lol identical.
💯🙌
The enemies atack and wait to get hit. HAHAHAHAHA Very funny
Films 🎥
He's awesome to watch, but the the major difference between Bruce Lee and him is, he never gets hit. Bruce Lee got hit. That's real. Don't believe me? Go back and see his films again. Just one memorable example: His film fight with Kareem Abdul Jabar, where you see that giant footprint across the front of his yellow jacket, until the end of the film.
Otherwise this fellow is really interesting to watch.
I always wondered if he was related to Jhoon Rhee
I am not sure, same last name tho
No he's not. I asked that same question.
Saya Berlatih Seni Beladiri Wing Chun Dan Jeet Kune Do Selama Bertahun-tahun, Karena Saya Penggemar Berat Bruce Lee
Same here, 🫶 I too am still living a life of a martial artist, 45+ years of training and still counting. 💯😎
The enemies he confronts, never defend, only atack and stay still to get hit hahahaha
Stunt men stunned 😳 lol 😂

He is way slower than Bruce Lee. But he has skills
That’s debatable

7:37 - whats name this movie ?
Best of the Best series 1-3
Does Filipino Ree use Hapkido with taekwon do
Yes
@@MARTIAL_STRIKER
I said Philip Ree I real martial artis
Real master of taekwon do Hapkido judo and rest of them can’t compare with him
JKVD MJW and some of them are not even close to him
He is true master of martial arts you can see in his movies and his first movie best of the best …. He is a man l can truly respect rest of these so called martial arts are fake and not martial artist…. I would like to put him ( Ree) on top Hollywood actor with martial arts skill
Lot of them are finished stunts martial arts school with no knowledge about Mach in ring
@@gbosnjak62 agreed 👍
Good man. Bruce had more "Star Quality", I think. In repose he was motionless as a graven image - then he would strike, making a rattlesnake look like a slouch & arguably on the Piss.
He was a Master Influencer of the times and he continues to be 50 years later and that’s why he is a legend!
Taekwondo grandmaster
Indeed , he did is!
As well as being a Hapkido master.
@freddy8479 yes 🙌
Never heard of him, what is his name in Chinese?
He is Korean not sure 🤔
He also looks like Ho Sung Pak the original Liu Kang from Mortal Kombat 1 & 2.
Yes he would have done a great job with that one too.
@Coach_J.Carrick I think Bruce would have loved Phillip Rhee's fight scenes, he really appreciated korean martial artists.
@@codylontoc8065 Philip Rhee really did it like Bruce Style of film and Fighting, Bruce Lee was the Legend and we martial artists have all copied him in one way or another. That’s why he is the Legend
Taekwondo mix martialartist also Grandmaster Hee IL Cho at moovie best off the best offcourse great both and others , but bruce lee was bruce lee
Yes indeed, Philip Rhee did a great job capturing the film and fighting style of Master Bruce Lee, he should make another movie Best of the Best!
Bagaimana kabar philip rhee sekarang?
Good question?? We need to find him and get him to make another Best of the Best movie or mini Netflix series ! That would be awesome 😎
I think he's in his late 50s or early 60s. Around my age. Actually he's a few months older. I'll be 63 next month. He already is. I assume he stills got some moves left in him. This is the age when health problems set in. He's probably still in fantastic shape I would hope.
@primusmoss-ln6jc Philip Rhee is born Sept 7 1960 63 years old now 🙌
Sadly to see him geting old
The Facts of life
Strange comment coming from another human. 🤔
Yeah, wellcome to earth
Bahahahah da Killer Clown came to town & got down without a frown!🤡😅😂😅🤦🏽♂️
You wouldn’t hit a clown 🤡? 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Well I wouldn’t go that far
🙃
I see tae kwon do and hapkido in his style. I think he is no match for bruce lee. Bruce lee is good not only at movies, but also in real fight.
The Man, The Myth and The Legend Bruce Lee!
Bruh, this guy is no Bruce Lee. His movements look so rigid and rehearsed.
Not Bruce Lee Philip Rhee Thanks
Rhee and his brother are good in their own right, but a Bruce Lee embodiment? No. Just look at the movements, Lee had a much better economy of motion. No offense.
I’m not offended at all, as it’s my opinion and they vary, thanks for your input. He did imitate his moves and film style in my opinion, was he Bruce of course not. Philip and Simone Rhee were both very talented and skilled Martial artist who have been sadly underrated and overlooked by many. They were the Best of the Best in the 90’s IMHO 🤓
@@MARTIAL_STRIKER 👍
💪🏼😎
Doesn't even come close..NO WAY
He’s definitely close enough
Don’t remember this guy at all..🤷♂️
80’s and 90’s era bro 😎
@@MARTIAL_STRIKER my era, don’t remember him..🧐
This is exactly my point and reason for posting as he is boldly underrated
No he's not
Indeed
Phillip Rhee can beat Bruce Lee?
Imitate Lee style and Movie style
Nah. You clearly don't know the real Bruce Lee.
Ah chill man
He is an awesome martial artists, but he is using Tae Kwon Do. Bruce Lee would not use such high kicks in a real fight. Movies? Sure. Not a real fight.
If you can throw a fast well timed high kick then why not? Of course high kicks in movies are for show and wouldn't normally be used in a real fight but if you have the speed to get away with it, then do it!
Bruce has used high kicks in real fights if you've read Jesse Glover's book or had the opportunity to hear he speak about it.
If your not Bruce. Use at your own risk. You will know when it's ok when you reach a certain level of skill.
Não sei se Bruce usaria chutes. altos na vida real mais ele usou no seu filme o voo do Dragão a luta no coliseu ...
No One should use high kicks in a fight. Those arsenals are apply in a Cleverly deceptive manner
@EddieParker-lb3vi avoiding the violence is the best KICKS !
You'll always win when your stunt men are paid a lot to make it look that way....mediocre fights at best. Mostly predictable kicks and throws. Nothing new or special about him.
🫤
Slow
More like Cinema Speed
He is incredible
🔥🔥
