If you give him enough energy recharge there would be no down time on his ult, it’s crazy that it lasts so long you could actually cast it again while it’s still going.

Can't say much about numbers (since I can't test myself), but when his e de-activated and I switched to Kaeya during his demo, by the time I went back to Ayato he was already good to go! Interested to see where this goes, and though I make it a rule of thumb to not roll on the initial banner, I hope to get him on his rerun!
If you're talking about Energy for his Burst, his Trial isn't a good comparison as they juice up ER quite a bit in there.. If you're talking about his short E cooldown, looking forward to it :D
Same! I decided to wait for a rerun on yae miko and turns out that was the best choice for me. Ayato is a hard choice thoigh since his elemental skill looks so cool! Still going for that ayaka/kazuha tho
Ayato decided to come home after 80 wishes….. he was my first 5 star I got from saving.. I’m recently transitioning into a low spender or ftp. It felt great to not spend on a character for once :)
You should try a freeze Tesm with ayato and ganyu. Ayaka could use Xingqiu for Hydro support but Ganyu can't. So Ayato is better as a ganyu freeze hydro support/sub-dps imo
The problem with him in feeeze is that they use a 20s rotation but ayato needs 2 skill use to get his burst back so the rotation is pushed to 25ish sec which makes it awkward to play, makes for lower dps, can mess up buff/vv timings.
Its just the same with ganyu+mona or ganyu+kokomi, just apply the wet status Ayato is good with anyone who use NA if you want him as a sub-dps And he is good with YJ if you want him as a dps
the downside here is that Ayato’s main thing is his skill, not his burst, and Ganyu’s DPS is a lot higher (especially noticeable rn since Ayato’s best in slot artifact set is brand new AND he uses the new weekly boss drops so a lot of people won’t even be able to get him super well built) so using his skill in a Ganyu team would be kinda a waste. so if it’s only using him for burst, mona/kokomi + an anemo is still better for freeze. plus mona/kokomi provide universal support (mona’s ult buff/kokomi’s healing, both being users of the 4p tenacity and TToDS book) ofc i don’t wanna say this to rain on anyones parade but personally i think Ayato is better as a vaporise support or main DPS than freeze support in most situations. although it’d be interesting to see a freeze team with Ayato as the main carry, maybe like with Rosaria or something.
I wasnt going to pull on him but just watching the gameplay it kinda makes me want to. I just love it where he repeatadly attacks over and over and hey hes seems pretty good.

If his burst boosts NA dmg then I wanna see a hybrid Razor utilize a support Ayato. Make use of the high NA dmg while also using electro charge reactions.
I pulled him at 80 pitty winning the 50/50, so far, so nice, im using it as a sub DPS with 4 piece hydro bonus artifacts, blackcliff R4 in permafrost team with Ayaka and it freezes everything in his Burst. Soon I will try with Hu Tao, seems promising, I like this character... And most important, Japanese VA is GOD, Kaworu FTW
Exactly my main concern, I have the skyward harp on childe (permanent banner) with a fairly strong build and no 5* sword for ayato, he'll probably end up underperforming (or similarly) vs my childe

I find his E really fun and smooth to use, the aoe is kinda huge too so it's pretty nice but I still don't know if the damage is good enough. Guess I'll have to wait for yelan leaks first
i think being hydro his own damage is just enough (not over), since I believe they design him to be paired with other teammates to help reactions since Hydro mix so well with just about anything, so will have to check the team's overall damage and take into account the point of quad-elemental damage + reactions, compared to other teams which might be mono or dual elements only
Hydro is easiest element to work a team with. You can benefit from XL's burst, pair it with electro sub DPS like Yae or Fischl, or even slot it cryo characters like Ganyu, Kaeya or even Ayaka. He's not busted as a main carry, but he's extremely flexible as a dual carry/sub DPS.

Sad that you didn't showcase Frozen Boba Team. Simplest, and most accessible would be Diona, Rosaria/Kaeya, Sucrose/Kazuha/Benti, Ayato. The more expensive team would be ZL, YJ, Ganyu, Ayato.
i bought boba from our local shop near our house and when I summoned i got 2 ayato on 60 pity with 50/50. may all your pulls be blessed and for the future moving on :)
I tried it with chongyun, c2 jean, and I forgot the third character. But I got in 16 slashes consistently. It's about 1-2 slashes more. So it's not a huge difference. Feels great though.
I had ayato in a team with venti,Raiden and Beidou and it looked crazy in ventis burst with all these numbers AND ayatos E. I never killed something this fast
My bf is planing on using him like that; slap a festering desire on him and use him as a hydro burst support (he doesn’t have Mona and lost the 50/50 on Kokomi)
@@masyan3457 festering desire is not optimal for him as, just like childe, while using his Elemental skill his attacks count as NA dmg, not skill damage. As such, festering desire's passive would only affect the clone explosion
I think what's great about him vs Childe in the national team is that he has downtime in between 2 infusion so that the team has other things to do (refreshing swirl, funneling energy, etc) while the hydro from his burst is still up and running. Less speedrun potential but more consistency.

As someone without BP. And want to use all starglitter for summons. I would love a comparison of Ayato with one of the sword prototypes and/or all the 4*s in the character rate up and standard banner spookable weapons.
Torgana and the kamisato sibling comp are worth mentioning in this video. Torgana has double quadratic scaling, perma freeze and is arguably better than his yunjin team. Kamisato sibling comp is also freeze based and ayaka brings tons of burst damage, while ayato uses his E during her burst. I cleared floor 12 with both of these comps very easily.
You can try her with RAIDEN maybe that seems interesting electro charges everywhere with one healer and a anemo unit for VV. Venti and kazuha can be anemo units for CC or jean can also be an option as she can hold both anemo and healer spot and you can go for a buffer for one empty spot and Raiden skill will help in hitting multiple opponents as its duration is really long and ayato burst which is also really long can mesh well with it. also Raiden helps with energy regeneration and can dish out really good dmg. Thats why i would like to prefer over her other electro units as they either need battery for themselves i.e Miko, Beidou etc or will not be able dish as damage as raiden can.

I really like him, i summoned for him and lost the 50/50, my filosophy is to always summon to characters that i like, if i dont get them, i have other garanteed in the next banner, i want ayaka more than ayato now seeing his kit, and now that i have her garanteed, with welking, the chasm, events etc, i think i will be able to get her =D

In case of beidou she is running 4 piece eosf with around 180 er (she has wgs so dw about atk). Also can give her more er if needed ( I would use fischl but sadly she is c0 and my beidou is c6 and really wanna use her) In ayato's case i guess 1 idc about his burst (really stupid i know) Or 2 i will get lucky with his new 4 piece and have around 140 to 150 er on him while maintaining the crit ratio ( very hopium i know)

Childe is frustrating to play against multiple enemies because his range is severely limited, especially in abyss where they spawn across each other or tend to teleport, zoom away from each other.
I'm hittin 30k against the wolf hounds in floor 12, with the Jade Cutter, Jean, Bennet, C6 Yunjin. This guy is so good holt crap. And his burst snapshots shits doing like 11k a droplet. I haven't been this satisfied with a unit since Itto bruh it's been tooooo long. All this with the HoD, not even his best set.
I see people using him with ganyu and it looks fun but using him with ayaka, chongyun or yoimiya is still more optimal imo since Ayato's burst wouldn't be able to keep up with ganyu's burst since it costs 80 energy.

Honestly, his playstyle is very similar to Itto’s, who I was able to pull. Trigger ult state and hold down attack. Watch numbers go up. He seems to put out less raw damage than Itto, but has reactions to fall back on and boost it up, possibly higher than Itto, but at reduced AOE (hitting behind Itto is just so convenient). I don’t really run reaction teams other than Electo very infrequently, and my electo team already has Kokomi for heals. I don’t even run Bennet, Xingqui or Xiangling much and I have no issue 36 starring abyss. I rarely even use a VV shred. So I will likely pass unless I get him while going for Yun Jin constellations, but I likely will not do that try for her. If you don’t have Itto or a good hydro enabler, then this may be good for you. But for me it’s a skip. Primos are just too costly to get a character I may not use and is too close to the same playstyle.
I am Itto main and ayato play style isn’t similar to Itto at all. Itto relies on combos to charge attack while Ayato just need to press his E and Q like Childe. So nope, the playstyles aint similar at all. (I have tried ayato demo)
@@zentsukizsasz8661 I have C1 Itto. So I start with more than enough stacks. With Ayato, you Q and then E then hold normal. With Itto, you E then Q, then hold Normal. You get about 8 hits off Itto (including the first), then you have about enough time for another high damage E 2-3 normals, and hold E again. So besides pressing E and N1 ing about twice with Itto, most of their gameplay is holding normal. So yes, they are practically the same style.
He is cool for sure but doesn't offer me anything else that Mona, Childe, Xingqiu or Kokomi don't offer me already so i'm skipping him (Ayato would be the only 5* hydro that i don't have, Yelan could be the same case)
kinda weird but despite normal attack bonus increase his damage, lvling his NA isn't, so you want to focus on E then burst while Hu Tao and Childe who have E skill that infuse element and buff normal attack use NA level as the base Honestly if they want to stay consistent since Raiden doesn't scale of her NA level but only her burst and only take burst damage bonus, Ayato should not be able to get buff from normal attack bonus but instead skill/E damage bonus but nah
Incredible quality for how fast you got this up man! Also I’d like to see taser Ayato and reverse vaporize Yoimiya. I have the sneaking suspicion Ayato is best as a burst switch support. His skill damage seems to justify the field time enough but is still an opportunity cost if you aren’t using sub dps characters. Someone like Yoi I think would be the main dps while Ayato is used on her skill downtime and after she bursts. It would also allow Ayato 2nd passive to be more useful if you switch to another character right away. If he can get at least 10 energy from his passive then it would help his ER req a lot and then he’d only need to skill at the end of rotations to get it back which would maximize his kit without opportunity cost to the team (a problem poor Yae unfortunately cannot solve with gameplay). Maybe using Xinqiu/Mona/Kokomi instead of Yun Jin or Benett? I imagine it would also help with Ayato ER. Also Yae Miko, Fischl or Beidou for the taser! Raiden would work alright but I imagine it’s really only optimal at a C4 Ayato to give Raiden AS
The team I've been running is Kokomi - Ayato - Kazuha - Yujin. I don't really focus on vaping at all and my set is the Shim set so not great. Even still I was almost hitting 20k with a Jade cutter. Once I get a better set and level up his sword, and develop Yujin more I have no doubt I can top 30k slashes with this build and no vaping. Looking forward to your constellation showcases to see if I want to go for C2 or not

Got him early at 16 pity and at a 50/50. His arrival was so unexpected so I didn't pre-farm his materials. It's nice that I have the Black Sword tho since I was planning to get Ayaka... Thanks for the guide! Hopefully I'll be able to do some big pp damage once I'm able to farm for him

Not sure if this was suggested, but for a future video, what I would like to see the most is a comparison in a morgana team with various hydro units. I'm told c4 childe also applies enough hydro to be in a morgana team (not sure how exactly), so the units I'd like to see compared in this way is: Childe, Ayato, Mona, Kokomi. I'm curious to see if Ayato significantly buffs Ganyu and Ayaka, or if you're just better off with Mona/Kokomi who can hold thrilling tales.
Compared to c0 raiden (I say this as a person who missed Raiden's banner twice T_T), it seems very lack laster in damage comparisons as a 5 star damage unit as a whole. I feel Mihoyo is trying to dial back the power scaling.
I just wish the burst was a little more consistent with its hits, but overall Ayato is looking like a balanced hydro user. I still can’t clearly tell what he is meant to be, but I am guessing that he is a support character? Anyway, to anyone reading this that is considering Ayato and not too concerned about meta, just you do you and roll for him 😊
Im actually using ayato fischl and sara. Fischl for constant electro application and electro particle, sara for damage buff and huge electro app with burst and skill, 2 electro for elemental reaction buff. All of them level 60 but still beating level 90 monsters easily(i am ar level 53 upgrading characters is hard).

I saw a teamcomp where chongyun is utilized for for the atk speed boost his e gives
I tried it with chongyun, c2 jean, and I forgot the third character. But I got in 16 slashes consistently. It's about 1-2 slashes more. So it's not a huge difference. Feels great though.

@@masyan3457 festering desire is not optimal for him as, just like childe, while using his Elemental skill his attacks count as NA dmg, not skill damage. As such, festering desire's passive would only affect the clone explosion

I think what's great about him vs Childe in the national team is that he has downtime in between 2 infusion so that the team has other things to do (refreshing swirl, funneling energy, etc) while the hydro from his burst is still up and running. Less speedrun potential but more consistency.
I use him in a freeze team aka the frozen boba team: ayato/ayaka/diona/kazuha. It’s honestly a really fun team comp, I love him!

Torgana and the kamisato sibling comp are worth mentioning in this video.
Torgana has double quadratic scaling, perma freeze and is arguably better than his yunjin team.
Kamisato sibling comp is also freeze based and ayaka brings tons of burst damage, while ayato uses his E during her burst.
I cleared floor 12 with both of these comps very easily.
You can try her with RAIDEN maybe that seems interesting electro charges everywhere with one healer and a anemo unit for VV. Venti and kazuha can be anemo units for CC or jean can also be an option as she can hold both anemo and healer spot and you can go for a buffer for one empty spot and Raiden skill will help in hitting multiple opponents as its duration is really long and ayato burst which is also really long can mesh well with it. also Raiden helps with energy regeneration and can dish out really good dmg. Thats why i would like to prefer over her other electro units as they either need battery for themselves i.e Miko, Beidou etc or will not be able dish as damage as raiden can.

In case of beidou she is running 4 piece eosf with around 180 er (she has wgs so dw about atk).
Also can give her more er if needed
( I would use fischl but sadly she is c0 and my beidou is c6 and really wanna use her)
In ayato's case i guess 1 idc about his burst (really stupid i know)
Or 2 i will get lucky with his new 4 piece and have around 140 to 150 er on him while maintaining the crit ratio ( very hopium i know)

We are the opposite I find Ayato more fun. I guess it is subjective and just based on whatever the person find fun.
I love childe playstyle but what prevents me from really using him is how punishing his E cooldown can be, so ayato seems like a decent alternative.

Childe is frustrating to play against multiple enemies because his range is severely limited, especially in abyss where they spawn across each other or tend to teleport, zoom away from each other.

I'm hittin 30k against the wolf hounds in floor 12, with the Jade Cutter, Jean, Bennet, C6 Yunjin. This guy is so good holt crap. And his burst snapshots shits doing like 11k a droplet. I haven't been this satisfied with a unit since Itto bruh it's been tooooo long. All this with the HoD, not even his best set.

I see people using him with ganyu and it looks fun but using him with ayaka, chongyun or yoimiya is still more optimal imo since Ayato's burst wouldn't be able to keep up with ganyu's burst since it costs 80 energy.

Honestly, his playstyle is very similar to Itto’s, who I was able to pull. Trigger ult state and hold down attack. Watch numbers go up.
He seems to put out less raw damage than Itto, but has reactions to fall back on and boost it up, possibly higher than Itto, but at reduced AOE (hitting behind Itto is just so convenient).
I don’t really run reaction teams other than Electo very infrequently, and my electo team already has Kokomi for heals. I don’t even run Bennet, Xingqui or Xiangling much and I have no issue 36 starring abyss. I rarely even use a VV shred.
So I will likely pass unless I get him while going for Yun Jin constellations, but I likely will not do that try for her. If you don’t have Itto or a good hydro enabler, then this may be good for you. But for me it’s a skip. Primos are just too costly to get a character I may not use and is too close to the same playstyle.
I am Itto main and ayato play style isn’t similar to Itto at all. Itto relies on combos to charge attack while Ayato just need to press his E and Q like Childe. So nope, the playstyles aint similar at all. (I have tried ayato demo)

@@zentsukizsasz8661 I have C1 Itto. So I start with more than enough stacks.
With Ayato, you Q and then E then hold normal.
With Itto, you E then Q, then hold Normal. You get about 8 hits off Itto (including the first), then you have about enough time for another high damage E 2-3 normals, and hold E again.
So besides pressing E and N1 ing about twice with Itto, most of their gameplay is holding normal. So yes, they are practically the same style.

kinda weird but despite normal attack bonus increase his damage, lvling his NA isn't, so you want to focus on E then burst while Hu Tao and Childe who have E skill that infuse element and buff normal attack use NA level as the base
Honestly if they want to stay consistent since Raiden doesn't scale of her NA level but only her burst and only take burst damage bonus, Ayato should not be able to get buff from normal attack bonus but instead skill/E damage bonus but nah

Also I’d like to see taser Ayato and reverse vaporize Yoimiya. I have the sneaking suspicion Ayato is best as a burst switch support. His skill damage seems to justify the field time enough but is still an opportunity cost if you aren’t using sub dps characters. Someone like Yoi I think would be the main dps while Ayato is used on her skill downtime and after she bursts. It would also allow Ayato 2nd passive to be more useful if you switch to another character right away. If he can get at least 10 energy from his passive then it would help his ER req a lot and then he’d only need to skill at the end of rotations to get it back which would maximize his kit without opportunity cost to the team (a problem poor Yae unfortunately cannot solve with gameplay).
Maybe using Xinqiu/Mona/Kokomi instead of Yun Jin or Benett? I imagine it would also help with Ayato ER. Also Yae Miko, Fischl or Beidou for the taser! Raiden would work alright but I imagine it’s really only optimal at a C4 Ayato to give Raiden AS
My first thought was to pair him with c6 fischl, since he was all about NA speed

The team I've been running is Kokomi - Ayato - Kazuha - Yujin. I don't really focus on vaping at all and my set is the Shim set so not great. Even still I was almost hitting 20k with a Jade cutter. Once I get a better set and level up his sword, and develop Yujin more I have no doubt I can top 30k slashes with this build and no vaping.
Looking forward to your constellation showcases to see if I want to go for C2 or not

Not sure if this was suggested, but for a future video, what I would like to see the most is a comparison in a morgana team with various hydro units. I'm told c4 childe also applies enough hydro to be in a morgana team (not sure how exactly), so the units I'd like to see compared in this way is: Childe, Ayato, Mona, Kokomi. I'm curious to see if Ayato significantly buffs Ganyu and Ayaka, or if you're just better off with Mona/Kokomi who can hold thrilling tales.
Compared to c0 raiden (I say this as a person who missed Raiden's banner twice T_T), it seems very lack laster in damage comparisons as a 5 star damage unit as a whole.
I feel Mihoyo is trying to dial back the power scaling.

I just wish the burst was a little more consistent with its hits, but overall Ayato is looking like a balanced hydro user. I still can’t clearly tell what he is meant to be, but I am guessing that he is a support character?

Im actually using ayato fischl and sara. Fischl for constant electro application and electro particle, sara for damage buff and huge electro app with burst and skill, 2 electro for elemental reaction buff. All of them level 60 but still beating level 90 monsters easily(i am ar level 53 upgrading characters is hard).
