I found a sink called the Joolca, it’s made in Australia! You can take it in or out of the camper and wash your hair or dishes on the tailgate. It also has the ability to heat the water up with the add-on of the complete set. A much cheaper solution in my opinion than anything else I’ve seen.
Great video. Another word to use instead of hate might be "don't like," or "things which could be changed." You mentioned that hate might be too strong a word, so these might be some other ideas.
I was thinking to keep it stupid simple, why not use like a foot or knee valve activated pump for the sink? Similar to how hospitals have their sinks configured for surgeons to wash their hands without touching anything with their hands.
For heating if tou want gas go with TRUMA or WEBASTO you can control with precision the temperature and is less expensive than that one. I have a TRUMA is very good it has 24 Years. But if you want even better the same brands have a diesel system that is going to be my next one. Is even better because the fuel takes less space and is lighter ( gas cylinder weights) and diesel is easier to buy and cheaper at least over here. I use Caravans and a camper a lot.
Hey Talon, have you considered running the sink drains out the side tacoma cubbies? You could cut a hole in the doors and have some excess coiled in the cubby and run a stubby bit of hose out the bottom.
I don't know what the cubbies are of which you speak, but yeah. Drilling a drain hole in the bed, and running the drain hose through it makes all the sense in the world.
For the price of a Kimbo one should not have the 5 negatives! Those mods are not expensive for the mfg to implement as oem stuff. Owners need to be happy!
I think the kimbo was always geared towards few day excursions and minimal living. It's the ongoing theme for everything inside if you haven't noticed. Small showers, just barely big enough cubbies for storage, small heaters/fridge. I mean looking at the sink setup, it's nothing more than a bowl, tubing for drains and that's it so I imagine you can fab or find a bowl deep enough to hold some dishes.
These are all the things I need to know, all 5 dislikes and 5 loves, to determine what I want I my next "build". I'm proud of my low roof cargo van build and the way I operate when I travel in it - now that I'm practiced I look forward to something like the Kimbo because of what I think is practical and valuable in a camper now. Thank you for sharing your experience and thoughts! Very informative 👌
I'm here because I'm working on a project in the Boston Area & I've seen a Kimbo camper in my hotel parking lot. I love camping, but just wanted to check out what it's like. One question, For the space where the AC unit used to be, what power box is that you're using to charge things & how is it powered? Thx! Doug in Boston.
For the shower, couldn't you just let some air out of the passenger rear bag? That way your rig is leveled for sleeping and you don't have to reposition the truck just for a shower?
Is that Newport heater stock? If so, it's a poor marriage with the camper. If not, you might consider replacing it with something with a lower low setting and possibly a higher high setting. It sounds like it takes a while to warm you up and then it can't be turned down enough to just maintain the temperature. I wonder how hard it would be to replace with something a little better. They sure are spendy for how limited they are. The company is mostly for boat heaters, and a boat probably loses a lot more heat than an insulated RV. If you have the Newport, though, then the hard part of installing the intake and exhaust is all done already, so you could try quite a few different things, and already have it sealed off from the cabin.
Great video, but your disclaimer at the beginning you mention that you really don’t like the use of the word “hate”. Then why did you use it? That’s why they make thesaurus books so you can look up alternative words. I realize I’m being nitpicky about this, but I’ve been watching UA-cam for many years and it’s really disappointing when people who have such a good production value and good intentions with their camper tour that they choose to have that cheap “Clickbait“ method of having a shocking word in the title in order to get more clicks more views more subscribers and of course more advertising revenue. Oh well I know I’m in the minority of people complaining about this style of UA-cam video titles, and none of what I think about it really makes any difference because a few years from now people will be laughing at the whole era of UA-cam. If you don’t agree with that tell me all about the success of MySpace… Great camper great video I’m just being a whiner about the title. Comments?
If all I have to worry about is that I have to walk inside a Starbucks rather than a drive-through I don't do fast good I think I can live with that I'd much rather have height
Good to know....Kimbo is always innovative enough for future builds, any chance of putting a Rack on top ( that would be my number one dislike.....other than the ladder!!!
They also have a roof rack with following specs: Roof Tracks System $750 60” roof tracks for hauling additional gear on your adventures. The roof tracks are designed to work with your favorite rack systems by Thule, Yakima, etc. and can support up to 100lbs.
"I really try to avoid cities altogether" me too ... me too
Designing a Cassette Toilet would be ideal. The Cassette would exit outside on either side of the of the entrance door out back
I used to follow Talon like 4-5 years ago when he was a little closer to a gun channel. It’s crazy to see how much his channel has evolved.
Same here. Definitely miss the gun content but I still stop by once and awhile to see what he is up to. He lives a great life for sure!
This video is the definition of constructive criticism
Gut the inside and take it to a FOOD TRUCK builder. They can upfit the inside with stainless cabinetry in any configuration/depth etc.
Can’t wait to see what you do with the sink. I definitely want to switch it up in mine
a foot pump for the sink would make more sense

Is that the blue sink thingie I saw the other day?
Great review! For your sink and shower drain, maybe add a small grey trank under the truck?
Maybe for the sink at least drill a hole in the truck bed to run the drain tube thru so it'll drain onto the ground without having to move it?
That’s great you have a setup you really like & only have a few critiques instead of hating it
Pretty sure with that dometic fridge you can remove the freezer and use it purely as a fridge. Would free up some room
Great video. Another word to use instead of hate might be "don't like," or "things which could be changed." You mentioned that hate might be too strong a word, so these might be some other ideas.

Why get a fridge? They are costly and a cooler would work just as well, considering the limited size of a fridge

Maybe the manufacturer of these Kimbos will take your suggestions to heart and make these improvements you suggested.
Judging by their crap website, I doubt it.
Hate is a strong word ✌️. Awesome video as always dude.
For the price of a Kimbo one should not have the 5 negatives! Those mods are not expensive for the mfg to implement as oem stuff. Owners need to be happy!
What is up with the small sinks, they need to big enough to wash a pan in.

YOUR VIDEOS are great. Thanks
The USB rechargeable water faucets/pumps from Amazon look like an easy solution.
Great vid... I can't remember but did you ever look at the Scout camper?
Weighed all my options and kimbo won by a landslide.
love the vid keep up the great content.
Great thank you, keep us posted about your water pump mod please, I have mod to do on my vintage bison camper 👌
TBH these seem like a killer deal compared to vans today. 24k new vs a used van for 30-40k with no build?
In short hate is better for the title. I get that. Great video :)
kimbo es el mejor camper para mi gusto..el mejor diseño.. bien espartano,,simple. saludos

It’s the anker 757 powerhouse. Plugged into the existing system so it charges on shore power 👌🏼
@@TalonSei Thanks!
For the shower, couldn't you just let some air out of the passenger rear bag? That way your rig is leveled for sleeping and you don't have to reposition the truck just for a shower?
Could but that’s a little tedious compared to just getting it positioned by driving
@@TalonSei you gotta get the rear bags indenpendant and connected straight to your arb. Flip of a switch and done man!
How do you cook? Does it have a stove?

Wow, those negative points aren't exactly minor. In fact, they may very well be dealbreakers for me.
Yup !
Will Kimbo actually let you purchase the camper barebones?
yup, you can purchase just the shell.
I saw a Kimbo up in Anchorage Alaska
The shower takes some close contact skill.

Great camper great video I’m just being a whiner about the title. Comments?
Do you still own or use the Kimbo ?
Yes and yes
You could drill a small hole in the bed of your truck. One for each drain.
You haven't mention the cooking part inside the kimbo. In other campers is not much of an issue cooking inside. at least heating up food. which I do.
It’s not an issue in the kimbo I just chose not to do it because I have a built in table outside
If all I have to worry about is that I have to walk inside a Starbucks rather than a drive-through I don't do fast good I think I can live with that I'd much rather have height
7:30 suggest you electricity pump, or foot pump
The should do a roof top ac
Yeah, if I was to get one of those, I wouldn’t get the AC
Good 👍🏻 to know video ok 👌🏼🔥🤠🔥Camping Russ out
Kimbo or Kimbo Slice??
Yas, definitely film the sink mods. (Please, lol) 'Specially if you're going Dometic. That system is pretty sick.
There are 12 v AC units available .
Not currently from kimbo but I have a 12v nomadic cooling ac on my van and it works great all year round.
Un nivel para superar ↗️⬆️
This is great
Good to know....Kimbo is always innovative enough for future builds, any chance of putting a Rack on top ( that would be my number one dislike.....other than the ladder!!!
They have options on the build list for racks like to carry skis. I don’t have the use for a rack tho.
They also have a roof rack with following specs:
Roof Tracks System $750
60” roof tracks for hauling additional gear on

just get a four wheel camper and most of your problems will be solved
Fabric walls 🥴 I have a tent already 😆
@@TalonSeiyou got a point. It’s hard to get a rig that checks all the boxes.
Why not title the video differently instead of a clickbait title??
Where’s the gun stuff?
It’s been on the second channel for over 2 years now
Sell it.
I was told "Jesus" is a myth.
Little nitpicks
