I remember the day I became a United fan: it was the Manchester Derby at City's ground (back in the 70's), I was 9 years old, my first match... I was on my own in the Kippax (standing), right next to the away supporters enclosure (a City fan when I arrived because I only lived a mile away from Maine Rd - as it was known then), and it was a crush... A policeman (to make a little room I guess) picked me up and lifted me over the railings into where the United fans were... And there I was, fearing for my life (lol), till the bloke next to me, smiling, pulled off my blue and white scarf and gave me his red and white one to wear instead... And that was that. The following Saturday I was in the Stretford End, where I belonged! Destiny!
amazing, been a united fan since I was born, live ages a way but still... since I could walk I was playing football, had real talent but gave it up for a year, worst mistake of my life 😂 #UnitedTillIDie
I'm united but I have massive respect for arsenal while the invincible achieved something incredible I still think arsenal 97/98 team was the best I can name that first 11 off hand they were that good seaman, winterburn keown Dixon Adams overmars petit Vieira parlour bergkamp anelka
John Cornell Correct plus Liverpool dominated at home as well as in Europe, something United never did and there two Champions League wins came nine years apart.
Sorry no disrespect to the '08 squad but this team would have won for sure. Edwin is a great but Schlemiel was the best, both teams defence lines were great and fairly equal but the midfield of '99 was slightly stronger. Ronaldo at his peak made united's midfield appear stronger than it really was. The front line of '99 without a doubt was stronger than '08. You had arguably the greatest supersub Solskjaer along with yorke and cole.
As an 11 year old from Manchester at the time, this season will live forever in my memory. People can argue whether this side was 'truly great' etc, but the fact that a team made up of mostly homegrown talent managed to do this is a timeless achievement. The drive, the skill, the goals, the comebacks, the drama. It will never be surpassed.
That was an amazing team! May not have been one of the top 3 UCL winning teams on paper but the spirit was unbelievable, however it isn't as good an achievement for Ferguson as winning the PL with Phil Jones and Tom Cleverley
Back in '99, as a teenage Arsenal fan, I hated United with a passion but looking back, you can only tip your hat and applaud this marvelous achievement of an historic treble win.

There is no others like Manchester United. I remembered when I was a young kid, know nothings about football, watched Champions League with bunch of adults in 1999. One of the people told me there's 3 minutes left, and maybe something will happen, the second goal and people chants, that is the moment I start to believe miracle does exist, as a young kid. Few years later when I grew up I reminded of the match and found it on UA-cam, that moment I realised it is Manchester United, that time Ronaldo has already joined this club for 4 years, and I started to watch football matches of Manchester United. I started to learned the history of this football club, from that moment I was chilled to the bone. Munich plane crashed, Busby babies, Rebuild of the club, Sir Alex joined, class of '92, treble in 1999, and team rebuilt again by Sir Alex. There's no clubs like Manchester United. There's NONE. Today is 2016 and LVG and the team is in low form, I have no single doubt on them, I wish them become better and better, because I'm a true Red Devils fan.
Currently the team has arguably the best individual talent it has ever had in its history (de Gea, Shaw, Varane, Wan Bissaka, Bruno, Pogba, Greenwood, Sancho, Rashford, Cavani, Ronaldo). The club only requires a team system or a backbone structure to carry it to a title. Are we gonna find it through Ole I am doubtful, but I am very hopeful that we will find it eventually.
Beckham was the best United Player in 1999. people seems forgot how good he was. We had four amazing midfielder back then in beckham, giggs, scholes, keane DAMN amazing!!
+Nancy Fraps: Becks was world class, but I'm pointing out that the others in the midfield were better. No shame in it, again it shows how strong it is that Becks was the worst one.
Oke i got HSC MUFC point..he doesn't mean to discredit Becks as players *cheers*. Let's agree that four of them are world class ehhehe. Well, if we compare them based on their whole respective career on Man Utd, Becks was the worst one coz he enjoy the shortest time than three others in Old Trafford, but still in my eyes based on 1999 seasons alone Becks was the best of them all.
Back in '99 I was a student and all my frends at that time were supporting Bayern, those lame gloryhunters :) I watched the game alone as I di dnot want to listen to stupid comments. And I had one of the best experiences of my life then - lived it on my own and keeping the memories to life!
Sure you're still buzzing? The club is going to the underworld.. can't believe they gave a man who failed at Cardiff the full time job at a club like Man Utd.

i was watching the final alone. after the first goal i kept walking in the room. the first goal came as a liberation. i could not believe the second goal as emotions were already too high. after the match we came out in the streets, we celebrated and even painted Man U's unbelievable treble on the walls. we did not sleep that night. all the fans in Mauritius were so so happy.
There was a guy standing to my right behind the goal that night that I didn't know and I still remember the ball hitting the roof of the net almost in slow motion but we turned towards each other and hugged and jumped like long lost brothers. What an absolute incredible season to culminate in the most spectacular of nights!
If I could relive one day of my life over it would be 26th May 1999. Stood behind the goal as we scored 2 injury time goals to win the treble. I'll never forget the feeling...pure ecstasy.
that game against Juve was even more exceptional than the final believe me . They where the only unbeaten team apart from us and they had a solid 11 with Pippo Inzaghi; Zidane,Deschamps,Edgar Davids just to name a few and to pull it back from 2, facing an opponent renowned for its impenetrable defence was by no means easy.
this is the best video about manchester united i have ever come across. it literally gave me the chills, the ecstasy is so pure . its amazing keep it up
I had followed Man Utd the best I could anyway since 1983-84 season. When Sir Alex was named a the new boss, I wasn't sure what to think cause I was only 12 or 13. It took him a while, and some of the teams in the late 80's were not great, in fact they were decidedly average, considering the money he spend rebuilding virtually the entire team around Bryan Robson. So when this season came around I had a feeling they were on the brink of something, I had felt it the season before when they were unlucky not to win the league, I think it was an Overmars goal that done them in that year. This team had the lot though, strength in depth, fire power, leadership from about 3 captains, cohesion, and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer the super sub. I was like a fairy tale, I followed every single match on tv or radio that year. I bought all the United we Stand magazines. My flatmate was a Liverpool fan, and I remember the Fa Cup match vividly. When Sheringham scored in the final I just froze. It was the only time I never cheered the whole season. I thought they were beat. I remember the guy upstairs thumping the ceiling as if to say, how come you're not cheering? Then Ole booted in that flick on and I made a screeching sound that could have smashed a wine glass and jumped across the living floor and landed on the settee on the other side.
Manchester United is such a great club!! Beckham made me love them. Those crosses were just pure genius and the fact that he wore number 7, my favorite number. Such a great team!!
The treble winning team is maybe one of the best team in history of football. only 7 clubs have won the treble. The incredible goal of Gigs against Arsenal gives fans hope that United can become the first winner of 3 cups in one season from the UK. In the final of the CL, the faith of the football players until the last minute led to the sensational turnaround. Season ends with Premier League , FA Cup and Champions League wins
@@Scoobydcs From the excitement, I slapped my lil bro who was sleeping when Solskiaer 'won it'... He obviously got mad with me, but I didn't give a fuck that night.
I just feel privileged I witnessed it and went to some of the games along the way. The most dramatic season I've ever seen, characterized by a never give up attitude that was instilled in these great players. United have given me some of the most memorable and happy moments in my life and that club will always be in my heart.
im so glad i was able live that year may never happen again...i had to listen to the radio most of that year madness but will live with me for the rest of my life
i was very confident this team could do something special this season. there had been so much expectation the previous year, but they didn't have the strength in depth to compete on both fronts, but there was definitely excellent signs there was something there. then those 3 signings stam, yorke and blomqvist. then i could see the european champions league glittering away in the distance. i knew they'd win. i told everyone they would. i just never expected a treble. to have won the champions league alone would have been plenty, but aaalll ttthhhrrreee? i'd been waiting 15 years for that moment. best team i've ever watched.
I remember watching that 1999 final like it was yesterday. Screaming at the TV when Sheringham equalized, not even composed enough to take it in when Solkjaer got the winner. Straight after the game, I went to Manchester. Every pub was rocking. There were fireman on trucks cheering going down the street. The chances of it happening again are practically non-existent.
it is in Salford only , you are not even from fucking Manchester ..Liverpool treble 1984 and 2001 5 European cups with more to come who is that above you, that is right it's Liverpool.
Once upon a time, there were four best midfielders play together in one team. And they made every average strikers look like best forwarder. Scholes, beckham, giggs, keane. ManU in 1999 is the best soccer team ever exist.
+chs hps Far from average. Absolute quality strikers. They knew how to finish! Today, average players are hyped up and made to seem better than they actually are. Cole 2nd most EPL goals ever.....pretty average!
+Zaahir Jappie Andy Cole was a reasonably good striker, in Premiere league terms, but he wasn't world class and nobody with a brain thinks he was. Yorke was a little better, and in that season, he really looked world class, but he wasn't able to keep that up for long and will mostly be remembered for just one great season.
+Golden Boy Being the 2nd highest goal scorer overall in the EPL is not reasonably good. Put Cole in any team in any league in his heyday and he would have shone. Cole was without a doubt better than Yorke. Ask any UNITED fan. Cole + Yorke....old school strikers who did the business....no gloss JUST GOALS!!!
Zaahir Jappie No one who isn't a Man Utd superfan, considers Andy Cole to have been a world class striker. N-o o-n-e. And when you say Dwight Yorke, the only thing people remember was that season. That's because it's the only memorable thing he did.
I was only 9 when we came to the uk in 1974 and saw my first football game and it was the derby Man City v Man Utd with the famous Dennis law back heel which relegated Man Utd into the second division from that day supported Utd through thick and think.
Raymond Mango I was 9 too. I remember starting to cry around the 88/89th min in the CL final and going into the bathroom to wash my face. And then a minute later jumping around my living room like a mad man. Will never forget it
As a utd fan this was simply the best night of my life amazing i can remember when oles goal went inskid along the floor pulled my arse muscles and couldnt walk properly for a day good good times never fogtten.
1979 F.A. Cup final coming back from 2-0 down to 2-2 and then Alan Sunderlands winner for Arsenal I was 6, n I just remember crying, afterwards but ,then when I was 9 n Aston Villa were the reigning 1st Division Champions n went onto win The European Cup, n playing Villa at Old Trafford that season n going 0-1 down to a David Geddes Goal but then for United to come back and win 4-1, what a game for my first visit to Old Trafford as a 8/9 year old,I'll still get Goose bumps remembering that Day..
This team, OMG! never read reports about players crying for paychecks, did not know agents existed, born as players in Manchester, and lived for the shirt. This is the spirit Ole is talking about now. Stick with him Woodward, he knows a things or two about fighting till the end and winning.
Im a newcastle fan still admire the fergie years and how well he brought on the players from home and abroad, particulary the young lads. Ole aint really changed much over the years
As a Manchester United all my life (64 in a couple of weeks), I get a lot of stick for claiming Newcastle United head the best fans in the world bar none. So happy for you fans and this great season you are having. I just LOVE Eddie Howe, such a brilliant your manager, and getting his due reward after the phenomenal job he did at Bournemouth. Hope you join us in top 4.
"Who says I want the future"( only)and the present "and who says I want the past only" also who says I want both " I will always watch this video unless I put it in my mind because this is one of Manchester United (greatest team)
Remember watching this with 2 mates at my place, and it was 4am. The equalizer and winning goal made us jump up and down pulling and pushing each other but only can scream softly as we didn't want to wake my family and neighbours up. It was an unforgettable unbelieveble night! The best United team!
"I knew if I got a booking I wouldn't play in the Final. That doesn't matter because United got there, that the most important thing!" Roy... This is what we need now. We need people who care about the badge and not themselves.
What a midfield! You just would not replace any of those four for any other player in the world at that time - a perfect balance! And while the team may not look the very best ever on paper, it was surely the best ‘team’ ever! Certainly the best British team ever!
20 years passed, but I still remember that day. I was 19 and supporting MU. In my country, it was a very late time and I was watching with my big brother. My father didn't join us but stated that: "German machine will win" and went to bed. My elder brother had the same idea and supported Bayer. We all saw this game and based on it it was obvious that Bayer was going to win. But not for me. During additional minutes I was so sad and angry so raised a small table and started to bit it. I didn't notice it, as was totally in the game and waiting for a miracle. And it happened. After these two goals, my home was the same as the stadium. Coz just 2 minutes ago, Bayer fans had happy faces and a great time, but MU side was silent. But after 2 minutes it was the opposite and it was the same in my home. The only me who was crazily happy and finally I put the table back:) I could not sleep at least for couple more hours. It was a great day, which is still fresh in my mind, heart and I can feel that happiness and joy thru all these days. Thanks to this team and Sir Alex.
Having supported Man.U since 1964 as a child, the greatest year ever was 1999. I was living in Spain by then and found a bar full of expat supporters on the night of the UEFA Champions League Final, we were still in that bar a day later, still celebrating! 😂
Even though l'm a liverpool fan. The manchester united team of the 1990s was special. schmichael, irwin, bruce, pallister, stam, beckham, keane, lnce, scholes, giggs, cantona, cole, yorke and the rest were fantastic....To do the treble is fking hard...They of cource won the european cup again in 2008 like the narrator said...And alex ferguson is one of if not the greatest football manager in british football. Alongside Bob Paisley....Lol......
Aaaaah!!!!!! Those days!!!!!!! I was born in 1996, so technically it was right at the peak of Fergie-era. '99 was my first exposure to European football as at the new millenium here in India; the PL (BPL at that time) & Champions League were the ONLY foreign football tourneys that you COULD watch here. This club was my ENTIRE childhood, I literally grew up throughout this phase of the club...... best thing that could EVER have happened to me. '99 struck a HUGELY relatable chord almost IMMEDIATELY, I donot know how or why; but from then on, there was NO looking back WHATSOEVER. To be honest, I did not regret ANY of it!!!! Its' been 20+ yrs. since then......... today however; we can only reminisce!!!!! Also, this video reminded me of another thing; as I was watching this video, I was CONSTANTLY reminded of the last match of the 2013/14 season........ if ANYONE would even BOTHER to read it THIS FAR, you're a TRUE FAN & you KNOW what I'm talking about. I'm not gonna push it ANY further as I know that it is STILL really tough for MANY of us to take it in(Including myself) but honestly, THIS one video brings back SO many LOVELY memories, my ENTIRE childhood included. Then; Now; Forever #GGMU #27years #FergieTime........

AND SOLSKJAER HAS WON IT !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
i spent most of that game behind my sofa haha, i was jumping all rouind the room at the end!!!!
And he manage united now!!!! Ggmu
@@Scoobydcs From the excitement, I slapped my lil bro who was sleeping when Solskiaer 'won it'...
He obviously got mad with me, but I didn't give a fuck that night.
And you’ve heard that some where before
goosebumps everytime i hear that
The best ever united team and probably the best ever side in British football history
No No, best united team was August 2006 to mid 2009
I just feel privileged I witnessed it and went to some of the games along the way. The most dramatic season I've ever seen, characterized by a never give up attitude that was instilled in these great players. United have given me some of the most memorable and happy moments in my life and that club will always be in my heart.
Makes my eyes water watching this, what an amazing year for everyone at old Trafford and i mean everyone fans as well
still get chills watching them final 3 minutes of the champions league final
Me too. Every time!
im so glad i was able live that year may never happen again...i had to listen to the radio most of that year madness but will live with me for the rest of my life
i was very confident this team could do something special this season. there had been so much expectation the previous year, but they didn't have the strength in depth to compete on both fronts, but there was definitely excellent signs there was something there. then those 3 signings stam, yorke and blomqvist. then i could see the european champions league glittering away in the distance. i knew they'd win. i told everyone they would. i just never expected a treble. to have won the champions league alone would have been plenty, but aaalll ttthhhrrreee? i'd been waiting 15 years for that moment. best team i've ever watched.
Unique history as a Manchester United fan which seeing the team to achieved the treble in 1999 after winning the double of 1994 and 1996.
it is in Salford only , you are not even from fucking Manchester ..Liverpool treble 1984 and 2001 5 European cups with more to come who is that above you, that is right it's Liverpool.
@@heighwaysonthewing shut up dickhead
@@heighwaysonthewing yeah but still Man United winning it with kids
+Golden Boy
Being the 2nd highest goal scorer overall in the EPL is not reasonably good.
Put Cole in any team in any league in his heyday and he would have shone.
Cole was without a doubt better than Yorke. Ask any UNITED fan.
Cole + Yorke....old school strikers who did the business....no gloss JUST GOALS!!!
Zaahir Jappie
No one who isn't a Man Utd superfan, considers Andy Cole to have been a world class striker. N-o o-n-e.
And when you say Dwight Yorke, the only thing people remember was that season. That's because it's the only memorable thing he did.
+Golden Boy
Anyway bud
It doesn't matter bcos i like both of them.
U r entitled to ur opinion.
I was only 9 when we came to the uk in 1974 and saw my first football game and it was the derby Man City v Man Utd with the famous Dennis law back heel which relegated Man Utd into the second division from that day supported Utd through thick and think.
i was only 9yrs old...and i remember every detail of that treble winning season
Raymond Mango I was 9 too. I remember starting to cry around the 88/89th min in the CL final and going into the bathroom to wash my face. And then a minute later jumping around my living room like a mad man. Will never forget it
I was 6 and it was the 97/98 season where I started watching United. Haven't stopped since.
As a utd fan this was simply the best night of my life amazing i can remember when oles goal went inskid along the floor pulled my arse muscles and couldnt walk properly for a day good good times never fogtten.
pure class glory to Manchester United
Interesting to see who’d win out of this team and the man united team from 07-09 would be a class match
OLE’S AT THE WHEEL
Providing us with yet another magical European victory nearly 20 years on, this time away to PSG!
this story is inspiring and motivating ❤️😇
And solskjaer has done it!! Still gives me chills
This team, OMG! never read reports about players crying for paychecks, did not know agents existed, born as players in Manchester, and lived for the shirt. This is the spirit Ole is talking about now. Stick with him Woodward, he knows a things or two about fighting till the end and winning.
99 team for me the first time as a fan to see us win cl and that team just took us on a ride that season will live with me till I die man utd forever
1999 Was The Year Indeed......
"Who says I want the future"( only)and the present "and who says I want the past only" also who says I want both " I will always watch this video unless I put it in my mind because this is one of Manchester United (greatest team)
Legends. They beat everybody.
We miss these guy's
who the Liverpool team of 1977 yes me too , and just like you I don't much miss these shit houses on here though.
Remember watching this with 2 mates at my place, and it was 4am. The equalizer and winning goal made us jump up and down pulling and pushing each other but only can scream softly as we didn't want to wake my family and neighbours up. It was an unforgettable unbelieveble night! The best United team!
It’s 2018 and this still gives me the chills #RedDevil4Life 🙌🏾
that Manchester arsenal game was the best game i ever saw
Ole forever a legend 🙌🏽🙌🏽, man the current United team needs to watch and digest this.
Cole, Yorke, Sheringham and Ole, what a selection of strikers. Lukaku wouldn't have got anywhere near that lot.
I die by united im always a united fan. No matter what they lose or win.
Woow Sir alex and his players
it was another sheme f foobll
Sir alex best coach ever
I MISS OLD UNITED.
The current united team should watch this!
OLE's at the wheel . . . Here after 10 games unbeaten!
I was there still tears me up. Incredible.
THEY NEVER EVER GAVE UP
they bribed the bloody ref , took that long to clear the bank for the bung to be accepted.
Roy Keane gets a yellow to miss the final, no complaints and drags us back into the game a couple minutes after 💪

ohh.... how i love this club
These days Manchester United was massive happiness only
"I knew if I got a booking I wouldn't play in the Final. That doesn't matter because United got there, that the most important thing!"
Roy... This is what we need now.
We need people who care about the badge and not themselves.
As a Chelsea fan John Terry is the first guy that came to mind when reading your comment 😂😂
manchester united 4 life
Greatest Season Ever ❤
After United win against psg?I love this game
the current united squad need to watch this
As a liverpool fan i feel so satisfied watching this oh how the mighty have fallen
shut up dickhead
Mark Smith And now we're gonna win the Premier League scum bag.
After 30 years mate . You fell away in english league for 30 years typical scum fans pipiping up as soon as they win something
I just cried no shame whatsoever if I could live 98-99 again I would die a happy man
Even though l'm a liverpool fan.
United will always be the kings of last minute goals
