I've been using Wise for about 5 years, excellent service and rates and the speed of transfer has improved from taking a day to like an hour or so when transferring to Philippines accounts from Australia.
Yes it's good but if you have to make lots of transfers ie buying condo, they cancel your account giving no reason

Our plan was to buy a condo in BGC and retire at 55. However, even being from the US, we can no longer afford to buy due to the crazy high prices. Instead we purchased a 232 SM, newer home in a retirement community in central FL. The home is in a guard gated, golf community near world class entertainment, shopping and dining. Also, minutes from one of the best hospitals in Florida, and 1 hour to some of the best beaches on the Atlantic Ocean. Our cost of this home was about the same price as a small 2 bedroom condo in BGC. My wife is a Filipino so still plan on coming once a year for a month but will just rent. Price are so high in places like BGC and Rockwell even foreigners can no longer afford them.

Yup I think property developers are pumping the prices hard in bgc and all the buyers are going to end up playing hot potato, investors are going to get hurt bad when the bubble bursts
The reason why you can't sell you condos it's because we are saturated in condos here in Manila, even in BGC you will be hard press to sell at market price. Your best bet would be owning one where it's not saturated and demand is high. There are sectors and locations still here in Manila and surrounding areas that are like that. You need to research the areas first before you purchase and understand the market as a whole before you commit. I just purchased one near a college campus last year and I have no problems selling mines if I want to get rid of it. There were 20 plus buyers on one condo unit wanting to get in just last week, so demand is very high in this location. GL my friend.
Come on! If it was TRULY "market price", it would not take so long. Too many people are FOOLING themselves, about what market price is. Remember, Buyers with cash, can also Buy Phl. REITS and earn 7-8% Gross yields, with NO Headaches. Get Real! If you really want to sell.

You need jumper for -4 decrees its freezing winter waether. I used wise many times before during the years, now just have use revolt as i dont need to transfer much.
Now is not the time to sell a premium condo... I sold my condo after 1.5years on the market here in BGC at avant. Interest rates too high
Because average income earner definitely cannot afford to buy a condo. Only the upper 10 percent of the population can afford. People buy them taking out a mortgage thinking they can easily rent it out but it's not easy with so many units in the market. Also people who intend to live in a condo will buy onky if there's parking that comes with the unit.

many buyers prefer to buy pre-selling ones directly from the company/developers. it will be much newer, cheaper and lots of new buildings popping up

Hey George and Lucy. Just curious what bank you used in the Philippines for your Mortgage on the condo. We are having trouble finding a bank that will lend to Foreign Citizens for our condo that is about to be ready for turn over.

Not really, you compare that to the States were we use to live then your eyes will bulge up in disbelief. Also, it depends where you buy the condo. You get one in BGC, yes they will put you on the hook, if you look wisely elsewhere not so much. I just bought a studio across a major university close to Manila where rent is like $600 for a studio and got me a studio last year for $65K US dollars. That same studio in the US would set you back around $150K at least.

If I was you and you have a Philippine bank account, I would transfer the money and use your Philippine bank card to withdraw cash/pay in supermarket. I have been using Wise for about 5 years but always transferring to Philippine account. Last year I got a Wise card and withdrew some cash from BDO and got charged Php200 by BDO. I know it's not a lot, but why pay anything if you don't have to. Wise is a great service, good rates and very fast. I will be back in Manila myself next week can't wait.

If you happen to sell your condo invest in your country buy a house or find a better one in Europe. And if your Family plan on a vacation Philippines has a best spot for island hopping or Japan a nice country and so advanced when it comes to technology.
