@@PRNTestDrive It's no secret that CVT has a bad record yet they still carry on with it . Time to wake up Nissan you used to make reliable fun cars under the Datsun name .
I respectfully disagree with the assessment of the Nissan Kicks SR all-wheel-drive model. I'm not a fan of CVT transmissions, and Nissan's reputation for reliability is a concern for me. Personally, I've had a positive experience with Mazda vehicles, having owned two of them. If I were in the market for a more affordable option, I would consider the Mazda CX-30 over the Kicks. Mazda's use of a traditional transmission is a significant factor in my preference. Additionally, I've witnessed firsthand the issues that friends have experienced with their Nissan vehicles. While opinions may vary, my own experience has led me to favor Toyota, Mazda, Honda, and Hyundai. As a long-time Mazda owner, I can attest to the brand's reliability and performance.
Thanks for the detailed feedback. You've definitely got great insights and I respect your preference for traditional transmissions. Mazda went from a brand that had a string of bad vehicles to one that's well respected now. So far the CVT in this Kicks is the same one in 2022+ Rogue models and so far they seem to be better than previous models. Only time will tell though.
Can you point out any specifics with time codes so I can investigate? I try to eliminate any audio issues due to editing/slicing clips together. Unfortunately there are times that the microphone ends up catching on a piece of clothing and causes those sorts of sounds, so I'd like to try and see if it's something I (Nile) can improve on with editing, or something I can get our team to watch out for when filming.
Hmm I'm not 2 sure about that lol. The cross is pretty slow though it has more hp is think redline reviews got a quicker time from the kicks than the corolla cross measured with his device.
Why would you think awd would make it quicker with its low hp? It's not wanting for traction lol. The awd adds weight and the drive train loss makes it slower i think.
I drove this about 6 weeks ago during AJAC's Test Fest, I found it was plenty quick for just me being in the car, so I don't think it's any worse off than any other subcompact in the segment.
Cvt by Jatco keeps me from considering this .
I think that could be a drawback for many too.

Don't like side profile. Round wheel fenders not cool on SUVs
Fair point! Considering how sharp the edges are on this, more square fenders might have worked better.
The clicking noise in the audio is....hard to listen to.

This is Slower Than a Toyota Corolla Cross

Thank you for the feedback, we'll pass this along to James.
