It depends on the model how much adjustment is needed with speed matching, but the app does have features for this. Learn more: ua-cam.com/video/1uJQKbfVC4k/v-deo.html
I am not sure, this would be a question for the Colorado Model Railroad Museum., but probably not too many as only 2-3 consists are on at any given time.
George I am brand new just assembling $1,200 worth of Kato unitrack on a 8x12 benchwork to play and learn for six months while my professional benchwork is being built. It will have 4 separate tracks approx 80’ long. I want to run eight locomotives on four tracks about a half a loop apart or almost a minute apart at 25 smph. Is it best to use the exact same model Kato or Athearn locomotive or does it matter as long as they are both the same brand and equipped with Blunami? Thanks, Terry
Terry, you should be able to speed match them exactly, so if you do run all 8 in a single consist, they should stay apart about the same throughout the operations.. Just remember that concentric circles are not the same distance, so inner locos will seem to be looping faster than the ones on the outer loops. So, you can compensate for that in the app, but then they would not run together on the same train. So you will have to decide is spacing or speed the most important to you.. Contact us at support@soundtraxx.com for more detailed answers.
My four tracks are different layouts and not copies of each other so it should not matter if I understand you correctly. Are you saying I can consist all eight at once or say six of them if I ran a couple of Amtrak’s on rail 3 and then consist the two Amtrak going faster separately from the other six?
Yes they are working on it for android. I’ve been in close contact with Dave at bluerails who develops the app. A newer iOS version will be live in a couple weeks which should weed out a bunch of bugs with the current software.
Consisting is in the works for the android app. You cannot run non-Blunami decoders with the Blunami App as they have no way to communicate via Bluetooth. But when using your DCC command station Blunami will act just like a Tsunami2 and consist with your DCC decoders just fine!
Let me ask anyone else here. I run outdoor g. 4408 decoders. I use a gen 9 iPad for control. Is anyone else having issue with the Bluetooth disconnect and reconnect? Mine constantly disconnects from Bluetooth. It happens with every single loco I have (12) apparently I’m the only person out of thousands of user to have this issue. Dave at bluerails has assured me that the new software update to iOS will solve some issues with the old bachmann app taking over the blunami app when my engines reconnect. It’s the oddest thing. Also I find it very annoying that you have to reconsist your locos every time they power off and power back. That make running trains very frustrating. Not to mention when they disconnect from Bluetooth I have zero control so if a derailment happens (which it has) I have no way to stop the engine from running off and dropping 2 feet to the ground. I do hope things get fixed with the new app coming out this month hopefully 🙏🏼
We have not heard of any major issues, but the bluetooth module needs to be at least ½” away from metal weights, shells, or bodies. Incorrect spacing could be contributing to the issues. We have not had any widespread connection issues like what you are seeing. And if the decoder loses power, it should not have to re-consisted, that’s only if the app closes and restarts. It happens on every single decoder in my engines. I’m only about 30 feet away from any engine at one time. Dave said the new gen iOS devices might have affect on this. And yes when the engine disconnect and reconnect from Bluetooth and you touch the screen the app goes nuts. I have videos of all of this happening. My decoders are away from all metals and face the outside of the locomotive for best reception. The old bachmann app that runs within the blunami app can show up randomly on screen and your engines become uncontrollable which has caused many derailments and problems so far and damaged a rare very expensive engine and I wasn’t happy. I invested a lot of money in the blunami system cuz I already had an iPhone 15 pro max but the decoders never stay connected so I bought an android tablet and it was a little better but the tablets was trash so I got rid of that and now I have a new iPad and it disconnects the same as my phone does. Dave said there’s a new version of the app coming soon after soundtraxx does the testing. Wait to hear from him
There are hardware changes to the board so you can't upgrade. We are always working to create new and fun products for the hobby. It is not feasible to make every product upgradable, nor is it expected that older products can be upgraded to newer versions in other industries. Blunami will work with Tsunami2 though so if you want to upgrade it does not need to happen all at once. You can run all of your DCC decoders together with Blunami and when you need an extra throttle, pull one out of your pocket for your Blunami-equipped models. You can also set up the features how you like on the easy-to-use Blunami App and copy CV values to your Tsunami2-equipped models for easier programming.
Nice, George, would like to see more.👍
Thanks!
Yes!
Thank George For All Your Help With My Issue We Talked About On The Phone! George Is A Great Guy! 😁
Thanks for the feedback. We are always happy to help!
Thanks George great info
Any time!
Very fine! Super easy too!!!
Thank you! 😊
Thanks George. Did you have to speed match these in advance or does the app do that in real time?

Hi George, How many amps does the power supply have for all these locomotives?

Will consisting be available for Android? When? I did ask in another post, but this one is more recent.
I haven't dl app yet for Android, so there is no consist for it? Correct?

@@mscott255 Happy dance!
Consisting is in the works on the Blunami Android App. It will be available soon.
Its in the works!
How does this (Blunami) work in consist with other non Blunami tsunami decoders? Also is consist available for android?
They work fine. You cannot run non blunami decoders with blunami, so you'd have to use normal dcc

Yes, Blunami is a DCC decoder and will operate on DCC just like Tsunami2!

What about all of us the have Tsunami 2s??? Why cant we be able to upgrade?? This just sucks!!😡😡
