Masque of the Red Death and The Shining: Both have a clock that keeps chiming, in Poe's black room and in King's Colorado Lounge. The chiming of midnight in both signifies a dramatic unmasking, exposing the ignored or hidden conclusion.

I read it as kid, but didnt see movie until late 20s... I never knew what everyone meant by finger thing, Heres Johny, and even redrum (I forgot about the redrum part over time., too scared about everything else.)
