  • We had a wonderful Memorial Day weekend of 2020 at Daisy State Park near Kirby, Arkansas! This is an absolutely gorgeous state park that now ranks as our favorite park in the state! In this video, you will find a tour of the three RV camping areas along with some walk-in tent camping sites, Yurts, and more!
    We also met up with our friends Marc and Kari from The Art of RVing and had our first experience geocaching right there in the park!

      We love vacationing in the state of Arkansas more than anywhere else! Daisy State Park is our favorite park in Arkansas so far (although Petit Jean is a close second)! We like it so much that we booked another reservation for later on that year. In fact we have an entire playlist devoted to Daisy (7 videos) in our channel library! Christy and I just started with East Texas Casa in 2020 and we consider it an honor to serve the children of our community! We are so pleased that you find our videos to be useful and informative! Mike and Christy, new subscriber here. Thanks for the informative videos you provide, very helpful. We are getting ready to purchase an RV as we are planning to zig-zag across the country for the next few years. We are planning to stay at each location for a week or so, exploring that area and then moving on to the next. I do have a couple of questions. How do you like towing the Arctic Fox and how is it holding up? How do you find using your truck while camping? We are looking at purchasing the 27-5, but are at a crossroad between that unit or a small class C and flat towing, as we definitely want to separate our camper/home from our 'daily jaunting around' vehicle. The one drawback is doing that in an F-250 diesel vs using a car (2-Door Wrangler). I've also read that 5th wheels cannot handle the rigors of cross country travel. Any pros and cons (or advice) you can give us would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. John.

    • @SunsetSeekers
      @SunsetSeekers  3 роки тому

      First off, we are very honored to have new subscribers! Thank you for watching and subscribing! Secondly, I think it's important to point out that Christy and I are NOT full-timers. We are merely vacationers and don't want to dole out advice as though we have lived full time in our RV (which it sounds like you guys are going to do). What we CAN tell you is that we purchased the PERFECT RV for us! Our 5th wheel is only 31 feet long which is small for a 5th wheel (the average being over 34 feet and longer) and this has made it much easier for us to get into campsites. We haven't experienced any problems, nor do we regret anything about the purchase of our Arctic Wolf! We would highly recommend this RV to anyone! We can also tell you with certainty that a 5th wheel is a much more stable towing platform than a travel trailer. As far as it not handling "the rigors of cross country travel"...there is NO RV that is problem free and we certainly don't see how a class A, C, or travel trailer would somehow be less problematic than a 5th wheel. The F250 works just fine for us. I should point out that I have an additional 63 gallon tank in the bed of my truck so we very rarely re-fuel during our vacations. We would have to drive a pretty considerable distance to have to worry about re-fueling. Fuel costs are NOT going to be cheap even if you are towing a smart car behind your class C. Anyone who tells you otherwise doesn't know what they are talking about. We can't tell you for certain what would be better. If you plan on traveling great distances from your base camp then maybe a class C towing a car or jeep would be a better fit for you, But if you are just going to explore the local area around your campsite a diesel truck should work just fine in our opinion.

      @@SunsetSeekers Thanks for the response, Mike. Your input is greatly appreciated. Good to hear that your AW is serving you well and you are satisfied in your choice. The smaller size is what initially drew us to the Forest River and Northwood Arctic models. Just let me mention that we are not going to be full timers, as we still will maintain a S&B, but on an extremely downsized level. Initially, we are planning to be out on the road for about 8-9 months out of the year, for the first several years (gotta go while were still able and in good health) and then 6 mo. or so thereafter. Who knows. we make completely enjoy the lifestyle and go FT.
      And as you know, there is so much too see and explore in this great country. It's amazing how I spent 30 years in the Air Force, saw the entire world 20 times over, but have yet to see much of the US. Well, that's all about to change, my friend. Again, thank you your great videos and the information that you provide. And I'll be sure to tell Forest River to send you a commission check.

    Great channel! I'm curious about the turnaround at group B. We will be in site 52 and have a longbed truck with 35 foot toy hauler, so we have a pretty large turning radius. I'm not sure we can turn around at the loop, especially if there are cars in the parking spaces and/or someone in site 55. That would mean backing in from the nearest intersection. Did you have any problem with the turnaround or see any long bumper pulls have an issue? Thanks!

    • @SunsetSeekers
      @SunsetSeekers  2 роки тому

      I saw some pretty big rigs in there and I don't recall seeing anyone having issues. I think the loop is a little bigger than it may appear on screen. I don't think you'll have any problems with it Michael! Thanks for the kind words and for watching!!

    Hello! Great videos. Is your truck gasoline or diesel? If it's gasoline, when you're traveling, are you concerned about finding gas stations that your rig can fit in? Do you try and find the stations ahead of time along the route? How do you take care of this situation? Thanks...

    • @SunsetSeekers
      @SunsetSeekers  2 роки тому +1

      Thank you for the kind words! My truck is a diesel and I have a 63 gallon auxiliary fuel tank so I've never actually had to stop at a gas station before with my rig in tow but the larger gas stations these days are big enough to accommodate any rig.
