I wear the same grin when I drive my old '67 Mustang Fastback - the small block Ford V8 really is the best sounding engine ever made - not that I'm biased, of course!!😎

Great job Nick. I am building an RCR GT-40. I am using an LS3 and Porsche transaxle. Right now, I am finishing up the engine fit.

Many Thanks James. LS3, interesting choice, any reason you didn't go with a ford based unit ?

@ I wanted a modern engine with a computer. I didn’t want to deal with the hassle of high altitude and such. I live in SoCal. I didn’t buy the E-Rod which is Cali compliant (smog) because the catalytic converters wouldn’t have fit. RCR made 18 cars for the Ford Vs Ferrari movie. They used the LS3/Porsche combination and I wanted something tried and true. The rebuilt Porsche transaxle are a fraction of the cost or the other makers. The Coyote was more expensive at the time than the LS3. The LS3 is the most widely used swap engine and it has a lot of choices for anything to buy for it. It bit me in the butt though. There were too many choices in terms of AC and Alternator locations. I had a hard time choosing the proper configurations for the GT-40. I am not a purist on this stuff. I just want to go to cars and coffee, do weekenders and track it. I am putting mufflers on it. Laguna Seca has sound meters on their track. I am insulating the chassis and putting in a sound system. I want to be able to talk to my passenger on weekenders. I am putting on a digital race mirror. As you know, vision toward the rear is not that great. I was going to go with the Gulf Livery but changed my mind when I saw the silver blue MK III at the Petersen auto museum. I’ll put in a tan leather interior.

@@jamesdellaneve9005 That all seems very logical. Best of luck with the build.

i would have kept the Webbers. don't sell em on. next owner might want them.

Hi, no intention of selling them on at this stage. I've had offers but as you say, should the car ever be sold they might be a nice add on for a new owner. They really are the best look on a car like this and the performance is good but as mentioned, in comparison with a big 4 barrel Holley they can't compete over the full range of requirements for road use. Thanks for your comments and time viewing the vid.

@@NicksGT40-t9w yep. it's a great video. best get them labelled up incase anything happens to you, just so it's obvious to keep them with the car. i've just done a deal an a car that was built to compete with with yours at Le Mans, a handbuilt copy of Jaguar XJ13.....probably take a couple of years to finish the build. bodies done in Alloy. only one was built.

Great video. Car is fantastic. I also changed out my Webers for a 780 Holley on my 427 Cobra. Much better carb and improved road worthiness and less effect from weather changes. Cheers from Texas.
