You got a different view point, when I went through the balance sheet i found that most of the investment of the bank was in HTM assets not mortgage backed securities.

That's why silicon valley bank invested 77% of the money in u.s. bonds but after federal interest hikes eventually, bond prices go down. And they lost 60% shares stake in just one day. You are comparing the silicon Valley bond and the u.s.a. bond but it is not true.

It was a flawed model to begin with because it relied too much on the concept of infinite growth and infinite capital; which is impossible. This is a short term-hit which we can easily recover from. But many of the startups named you said are not applicable for today. For ex. PayTm SVB is exited few years back. Many big startups like dunzo etc had more than one bank acc so they transferred they money to other banks and also has money in indian bank. As per money control article they talked with experts from know Indian bank they are saying that SVB is too small for creating a ripple effect on Indian banking sector and economy. But the Layoffs and startups run out of the cash are definitely to happen.
