You definitely have to put Sergio top five ball strikers of all time. I could listen to the sound of that club face all day.
He's so good Nick!! Great guy too.
Awesome insight "Ringing the Bell". The more comfortable I get with making contact through the ball the more confident I have to drop down on the downswing to build lag. Sergio is the master of this and he makes it look simple!
Sergio is a supreme talent and has been an incredible ball striker for 2 decades. Thank you gents, this video was a gem. Hugely informative, engaging, and entertaining. 👍🙏🙌💯🔥🤛☝️
Thank you Jason! Glad you enjoyed it🙌🏌️♂️
He is best choice. Very knowledgeable player. A legend
Thank you all so much the bell analogy pulling it down has helped so much that really clicked for me! Thank you again great content!😁
Great video. Loving all your videos as I develop my golf game!
Thanks Ryan! What other content would you like too see us do?
Sergio is the main man. As you said Legend and we will talk about him for years to come the same way we talk about Seve !
One of my favourite golfers of all time. Big fan of Sergio, love watching him swing.
Thank you for great videos like this. Sergio is so precise and accurate, he can put the ball anywhere he likes most of the time, and look so easy, as if with only 1-2-3 steps you also can drive like him (which is not the case), it certainly the results from (besides his talent) tons of practice time and hardwork. At least I can learn from it to improve a bit.
No wonder those top level pro golfers are always way way above other good golfers, let alone weekend golfers like myself
The cue to pull the bell is 100% thank you
Another megastar!! Sergio seems like such a nice guy, and for him to share his thoughts for us lot viewing on here is awesome 👌👏👍
Tommy to come this Saturday Owen🙌🏌️♂️
Sergio is just so amazing! Proving his talent in the first round at the Dubai Desert Classic now a Rolex series event. Just love watching him play!
Sergio finally thank you for fixing my drive, I'm a u.p.s.driver and I was on vacation back in 2008 at Myrtle Beach, and I bought a golf illustrated magazine and followed your swing and I avrege about 280 to 310 off the tee and right down the fair way, thanks
Brilliant taken alot from this, especially the pulling the bell motion, new subscribers loving the content 👌 👍
One of my favorite golfers. Stood next to him on number 2 at Harbour town years ago with a slight headwind. I was merely feet away when he drove it 305. If you’ve never experienced the professional hit a driver especially a Garcia 20 years ago you are just dumbfounded how much power a guy that size can generate. I’m surprised the ball didn’t have the paint come off it. Just incredible golfer. Absolutely humiliating to me since we were the same size so it’s definitely not just because a guy is taller or lankier.
Excited to try these on the course next week!
So good. Such good advices 👍
Well done guys in getting the great Sergio on your channel! Hearing Sergio's tips is awesome, can't wait to try out his draw method! Your channel is fantastic, keep up the great work fella's. Ps..Btw great questions!!! Nothing worse than having a great guest on and asking them basic questions most people should know, like how do you align your body etc. Well done!
Thanks! Glad you liked the video. Sergio was great too. What other content would you like to see us do?
@@meandmygolf. Great question! In addition to your great coaching videos I would love to see you guys do an interview series(fireside chat) with some of the greats of the game. To hear their thoughts on golf, some cool stories, and maybe a few tips along the way. So many golfers of the past we never hear about anymore, Tony Jacklin etc etc etc, that would be so cool to see. Cheers Jeff, watching from Brisbane, Australia.
So much info! I need to watch this one a few more times. Definitely great tips!
Glad you enjoyed it Danielle!!
Incredible video guys ! 👍🏼😁
So much control with the driver, amazing!
i love it when pro’s say they’ll hit a certain shot… then hit it. 👏 Sergio.
i’ve seen other videos where the pro doesn’t “actually” hit the shot they intended 🤷🏻♂️
Yeah he was great! Hit the green every time as well, ridiculous!😂🏌️♂️⛳️
Great video!! big fan of Sergio and of the two of you!!! Regards from South Africa 🥰⛳️🏌️♀️
Got to love it when you get a mention from MAMG and a tour player :) . I love the content with the players, really great insight.
That is a true legend, I love to watch him play golf, so elegant, so smooth!
Glad you enjoyed the video Steve!🙌🏌️♂️
As someone who has often brought my club down into my body and the bell analogy is massive i can really imagine the sensation he is talking about
Golf pros seem so generous with their knowledge. Great video. 👍
Inside to out! Can’t wait to try it
Unreal talent !!!
Golf is EASY! Just watch this video again and see how easy it is. We complicate it so much with all the different thoughts we put in our head for every swing. I’ve just now starting breaking 80 by simplifying my thoughts and feels. Thanks so much for this video. Sergio is a class act and wish him much success this year. 💪🇺🇸⛳️🌎🙏
So your shooting an average of 8-10 over par but golf is easy? Hmmmmm…… something isn’t mixing well here my friend.
Phenomenal content
Was soo excited !
Hope you enjoyed it Manraj! Anything in the video that could help you?🏌️♂️
@@meandmygolf. The whole video was amazing and soo useful !
Pulling the chain tip is perfect for me and what I’m trying to do. 👍👍👍
Another great video guys!
Thanks Fitz. What was the highlight??
En español , esta lección vale oro Sergio. Gracias ...
.
Great.
Cracking video as always cheers guys, thanks to Sergio a gentleman, you need to organise a round with these fantastic guys Rory Sergio tommy Tyrrell as they go round for a practice, it would be such a laugh and brilliant viewing, make it happen guys
We love you and miss you Sergio, from 🇴🇲
It is always great to hear the though of such a player as well as there approach. Thanks for the video guys
They are all so different aren’t they. Glad you enjoyed it Darren
@@meandmygolf. they do look at golf very differently, but at time take a very simple approach rather than complicating things.
Well done guys love these videos the secrets of tour pro s 👏 👌
Thanks Roy, glad you’re enjoying the series so far🙌🏌️♂️
When I was a kid wasn't a big fan...now that I'm trying to improve my swing he's one of my favorite.
The red club face and blue grip looks amazing 😍
Legend. Remember seeing him at the Open at Portrush. It was a pleasure just to see him practice
Yeh it was great being up close watching him Andrew!
I like Sergio. My favorite ball players have tempers. Relatable 🤪
That's a really great video and good content
Thanks!!
Sergio should win more often with his elite ball striking and shot-making. He's a virtuoso on the course. I think putting is the only thing holding him back at times.
Good 👍
Enjoyed this session with Sergio, as always very insightful to hear from the best. Just one request Andy and Piers, with the hand movement Sergio was showing, could you please do a detailed session on this to show hand path and movement through down swing through to release and extension and relate it to the driver club face, and how the club face changes with the movement Sergio was displaying. It would also be great to see such a demonstration with a camera looking back at you from the fairway, in addition to the normal from the side and behind looking down the fairway. Maybe a big ask, but would be really beneficial I think to a lot of your viewers, and of course me! I always fear rotating the hands too much. Great stuff again, as always please keep the videos coming, much appreciated.
Thanks Greg and appreciate the suggestion. I will discuss it with Piers. 👍🏻
I remember never thinking Sergios ball flight was very nice based on the top tracer flight. Watched him in Dubai a few years ago. Jesus Christ it was the nicest drive I have ever seen😂
What a ball striker Sergio is 🚀
Gracias Sergio, te deseó mucha suerte y éxito. Thank you Sergio, wishing you much luck and success.
Hope you enjoyed the video Ed?
@@meandmygolf. Amazing video, as always. This weekender thanks you very much!
Loving the new Adidas apparel. Got that hoodie recently but quick question. What trousers are they if you don’t mind me asking.
Top fella - nice guy and awesome player Sergio is he should win more majors before he's through 👍
Hi Andy,I had a lesson with you some years ago at Three Hammers and your advice to me was that right hand 👍
Hi Stephen. That was a few years ago! Hope you are well!!👍🏻
Love how Sergio always looks so in control of his swing and has perfect balance whilst holding the finish.
Like Sergio, I’m trying to introduce more of a fade into my game after 40+ years of hitting a draw, WOW it’s hard. My body is fighting every step of the way. Sergio makes it look effortless😢😂
He really does doesn’t he Tony👍😂
let me know how that goes, my nickname is babydraw, couldn't fade my driver to save myself
@@jonesydoon I’ll be honest Munted, it’s hard going. Trying to get the club head pulling to the inside on the way through goes totally against the grain as, I suspect like you, I’ve spent years hitting it through on the outside.
When it works though it’s a lovely flight. I’ll persevere though 🤷♂️
Keep up with that baby draw!! A consistent flight is every golfers dream😀👍
I'm in awe of the way he drops the club flat at the top of the swing
What a sound he makes on the impact on the club face!
Viewer numbero uno... Hope he can find his way back to win again. Amazing sound when he hits the ball with his irons!
He pures it! Hope you enjoyed the video
We need a Sergio's Short Game Secrets video!
Da habt ihr ja ein großartiges Video produziert, erste Sahne. Ich konnte schon davon profitieren. Vielen Dank, alle Daumen hoch.
Such a classy and friendly guy, great tips about "pulling the chain". I'm one of those that turn the shoulders too early. Going straight to the range (trackman) this morning to test this out
That made me laff when you asked h how you control your emotions when it's not going your way my first thought was smash up a green 🤣
Hey guys that's exactly what Moe Norman kept saying "Verticle Drop" to start the downswing. Sergio does the Verticle Drop.
Nice video! What ball speed were making sergio in those Drivers?
I can’t remember exactly Juan but I’d say mid 170’s
Sergio is the best, but what a guy to give driver tips. He probably has the hardest swing to ever replicate. The amount of coordination needed is insane.
Sergio shallows the club beautifully.
Sergio Garcia is one of the most exciting and engaging European players of all time.
Clever and fine man
El Nino!!!!!
💯 %
Sam Snead was asked what he did to hit it longer, he said he turned 'just a little bit more', Imagine Sam with modern day equipment in his prime! Scary!!
One of the few videos I liked without watching. I know he’s not popular but man I’ve always loved his ball striking. The stories I’ve heard from dudes on tour about how well he hits the ball are unreal.
Yes it’s so good! Was amazing watching him hit and explain the shots in this video😍🏌️♂️⛳️
Not popular ? Lol !
Great video! Love the little hand motion idea to imagine a better downswing and follow-through.
Andy might have misspoken there near the end, but I think what most amateurs do is swing 100% plus all the time with driver and it goes all over the place. Sergio hitting 90-95% of swing speed normally and then 100 is the bomb shot means you should NEVER try to crank it. Know what those levels are and never swing outside your ability.
Building up your normal/average/base speed is a completely separate element.
I don’t think he misspoke. In my experience higher handicap players always say things like “I was swinging too hard there” and try and slow their swing down and that doesn’t really do anything. If they hit left, now it will be short left 😂 I think Nick Faldo said something like that
That hand motion in theory sounds good but in reality you should roll your right hand after hitting the ball. I’ve been thinking if your right hand does what Sergio suggest the club face is so closed that it won’t have a solid contact. Am I wrong here
I think we’re reading it differently.
Piers question to Sergio was: “What if you need to bomb it?”
To which Sergio replied (paraphrasing): “I’m not swinging 100 every time. I’m swinging 90 so WHEN I NEED 100, there’s a bit extra that is still controllable and predictable.”
Most people trying to bomb a drive (farther than normal) will overcrank and swing 110% instead of doing as Sergio suggests. That’s why I thought it was odd that Andy would comment after saying “see, get your swing speed UP.” Well, yeah, of course you need to swing faster to hit it farther, but Sergio’s point was “stay in control at all times. There is no 110%.”
Your other point is valid but that’s more about deceleration due to a lack of confidence that causes the “left vs short-and-left” problem. That player doesn’t yet have the skill to differentiate 90 from 100 and shouldn’t be trying to bomb a drive. They should just give it a whack at their normal full swing speed.
@@rayleeaustralia Sergio is doing basically that - rolling his hand/wrist through/after impact. Watch carefully the difference between Sergio’s motion and the example Andy gives right after of “golfers who tend to slice the ball.”
Clinic 👍
Definitely David. So good to watch
Watched Sergio at 17 playing Loch Lomond, nearly 25 years ago😱
Wow. I what a career he’s had Bob!
You guys need to get Viktor Hovland on for a video! Would be awesome
Great video! Although I doubt whether anyone trying to break 100 is in the position to draw and fade the ball yet… Lots of great info tho
The kind of flaws I have is similar to the one Sergio try to avoid , i.e. hips which can open to early and the club head getting stuck behind. Highly important.
Seems like a very nice guy
Yeh really good guy!
Great to see him tee it up a bit - those trap cuts were doing him no favours.
My man Sergio pulling out the wedgie like a true professional 👍🏼
I remember Pete Cowen saying that Billy Foster, who has caddied for Westwood, D. Clarke, Sergio and Tiger, will tell you that Sergio is the best ball striker.
When he won the low amateur in the Masters in 1999… I’m sure he was in the top 5 in SG: tee to Green that week which is mental.
“Pulling the bell” seems like a surefire way to get the lead wrist extended and the shaft super steep in transition
That could definitely happen Barbara agreed. This is Sergios feel. Not something that all golfers should try but it may help some.
It’s hard to tell with the camera angle but when Sergio addresses the ball, with his legs together and then he steps out with his left leg. Assuming he centers the ball, wouldn’t that step out put the ball position closer to center or more back from the left foot?
Sergio sped up his pre shot routine for the opening.
At the top he drops the club behind him to start the downswing…how? What is he doing to cause that?
That draw tip is staying in the bank as the not turning through it causing block is something I suffer from
Great vids, guys! Trying to grow my channel this summer when the weather clears, would appreciate any support!
My coach always referred to the way sergio shallows on his down swing and its just impossible for me to do, so i choose not to and find some other way to go about it
I remember when he used to get angry
tee it high and let it fly
Pulling down with your hands at the top of the backswing is a dangerous swing thought - just keep in mind Sergio's transition is pretty unique and it is not easy to emulate....
It can be yes. This is certainly Sergios feel from the top. It helps him but we do have to be careful with other peoples "feels".
1 major win, never reached his potential - slicer
I learned that Sergio isn't a very warm character
Sergio is a better driver than Rors...There I said it....He can shape it any way u want it....Rors is a push draw machine.
US Masters Champion? Don’t the brits get all huffy when we say the British Open?
😂😂 I am sure some do Ripley
How not to play bunkers....
So you polled for who next. We chose Tommy and you showed Sergio.
What was the point? Did you need the views or likes ??
Just more to announce the rest of the pro’s you guys can look forward to and have an idea who you’re looking forward to see, we can see how it can be taken out of context though, so can only apologise and hope you still enjoyed the video!
@@meandmygolf. It pissed me off tbh. I just unsubscribe and fucked the video off.
It’s all so money driven now and begging for likes and shares and subscribers. Then when you actually ask our opinion as the audience, you then ignore it anyway.
Pointless
We appreciate that it was definitely something that could have been taken out of context and we honestly do apologise for that. In terms of wanting people to like and subscribe to our channel, yes that is what we have to do to grow our channel and we always appreciate the support. However the most important thing to us is that we continue to give you great value to improve your golf. Hopefully we can continue to do this👍
@@markfitzpatrick360 stop moaning, about time Sergio was on was getting bored with Tommy all the time.
@@mikeyL575 Yawn
No offence. But if you are teaching people you need to stick to basics. If you watch sergios swing plane it rapidly changes on his downswing. This will effect high handicap players if they try copy this swing. He is a pro. It's a huge difference between even a scratch player let alone any higher.
Amazing player to watch.
@Fitzpatrick
Cry us all a river.
Bye bye.
Bit disrespctful to be imho, they have a world class player kicking a can while they introduce themselves and ask for like and promote their channel, looks like these 2 think they are more important than Sergio
Sergio was an angry little guy that choked under pressure 98% of the time. I think I'll look elsewhere for something more reliable.
