Though it is perfectly reasonable for Sonic CD as well I personally am just an adventure fan Metal Sonic, Chaos, and Shadow are just really good options for plotlines to the next sequel in my opinion.
@@Gojin91 Well Shadow is guaranteed. We already know he's coming. Chaos is weird since he came before Shadow...and it wouldn't make sense to have both Sonic and Shadow there to deal with him. I can see Metal Sonic being added in Movie 3 or after. But I'm more curious as to whether or not Amy and Rouge will be brought in movie 3.
@@ProjectSorolf I can See both Amy and Rogue, showing up especially if they decide to do metal sonic in some capacity, in modern canon Rouge is very commonly working with G.U.N. and it is very possible they could activate shadow to help deal with Chaos or Metal Sonic, as there is ground work for Robotnik to want to mess with either narratively. Chaos being from his desire to control the master/chaos emeralds and Metal Sonic cause of his love of machines, Amy presents an easy C plot for Sonic to deal with a love interest/damsel in distress/stalker fan. But at the end of the day this is all speculation and lots of things are possible the movies clearly are their own canon.
I have a fond memory of watching this in theatres with my boyfriend during the baseball scene and he burst out laughter after Knuckles called the truck a “victory chariot”.
6:25 Not just Sonic's mental age, but in the games canonically, he IS 15/16 years old. Considering that in the first film Sonic was likely 3 or 4 years old when he first arrived on Earth, this also puts Sonic at 13/14 years old BY THE TIME the main events come about. This also puts Sonic at 15/16 years old by the time the 2nd movie rolls around. The movies literally emphasise that Sonic is still a child moreso than the games do themselves. Sonic isn't mentally a child in the movie, he IS a child, and it's especially prevalent with how isolated he's been and how all of his social interactions have been based off of what he remembered with Longclaw and what movies and films he's comsumed growing up. And if you're wondering about Tails and Knuckles, Tails is 8 and this gets frequently mentioned on social media even now unlike everyone else. Knuckles is 16 years old (and this gets confirmed if you look at Sonic Heroes manual and also the plushies you get if you receive them because the plushies have information on their age on the tag that comes with them.
8:34 I don’t know why, but the slow frame by frame of Sonic riding a lawnmower indoors, destroying snacks with a dog in a wagon while an almost(?) debate-like narration plays over it down right hysterical to me!
21:43 G.U.N. (at least in the games and anime) is also notorious for acting fairly fast for what seems to be an organization that fucks things up on the regular. No surprise that they're already there
If a Birdman episode takes 25 minutes, then you know we get lot’s of holes to poke Also that voice acting at 5:58 was impressive. I know voice acting is a profession you do, but still, pretty cool
The fact that Jeremy sinned the Shadow reveal should've gotten him another 50 sins. Did he not watch all the videos of people losing their minds at that credit scene?
Did the CinemaSins guys not realize that the Chaos Emeralds are important to Sonic 1 (the game), Sonic 2 (the game), Sonic 3 & Knuckles, Sonic Adventure, Sonic Adventure 2, Sonic Heroes, Shadow the Hedgehog, Sonic 06, and Sonic Unleashed, all of which came out before the MCU made the Infinity Stones (as they were known in those movies) as well-known as they are? Did they think this movie made up the Chaos Emeralds?
Idk how Jeremy didn’t take any sims off for Knuckles being HILARIOUS. I’m a Black woman dating a Mexican man and never caught the undertones with Rachel. I was just thinking she hated him for the chair, cuz I would have too. Only cause James Marsden is fine as hell, how can you hate him for any other reason. 😂
Why is it that people hate the wedding so much? It's a great way to introduce G.U.N. as the kind of agency that would do literally ANYTHING to accomplish a goal (in this case, capturing Sonic). Besides, we know from the games that they can be and are pretty scummy with their plans, or are we gonna forget that they literally chased Sonic with a whole truck causing havoc on the city just because they mistook him for Shadow?
This was my favorite Birdman video since Princess and the Frog. Thank you for this. Also, double thank you for reminding me Smooth McGroove exists. I need to go listen to a few of his songs now.
Lowkey wished you added 250 more sins here. 100 for sinning Super Sonic, and the other 150 for sinning Shadow. Still another great video as always though
Even if he does know who Ray the Flying Squirrel is, he called SUPER Sonic "Sonic-turned-Ray the Flying Squirrel" when he doesn't even look a dink like Ray. Like, why?
On the sin about the Face Time call: that is literally the best possible way for Sonic to use a phone, due to how the phone, and his head, are designed
Imagine getting mad that that the race for the Master Emerald goes ALL AROUND THE WORLD, even though it's one of the most valuable objects in the universe.
21:57 - I remember I did this in a video game. I was playing Black Ops zombies on the map Origins. The 1st time I saw those walking titans I looked up in amazement regarding how tall they were. I was literally stunned.
One of the dumbest things Jeremy said in this video that I'm surprised you didn't mention was his 82nd sin, right after the Owls steal the Master Emerald from the Echidna leader in the backstory: "Also, why not just make another one?" Oh, I don't know, maybe because the Master Emerald was made by and contains ALL SEVEN of the SEVEN Chaos Emeralds of which there are EXACTLY SEVEN?! How would they make a new Master Emerald if they don't have the things needed to make the Master Emerald?!
@@MasonJWMyers that's not actually the case since that's not how it is in the games, especially now with the new revelations from Frontiers. This is only how it is in the movie, as explained in the very scene he was sinning at the moment.
I'm sooooo upset you got me with the Invincible title card joke. As soon as I heard the music and saw the screen, I paused the video for like 2 minutes because of how focused and how it broke my immersion with how sudden it was. This is why I love the wonders of video editing, good on you Birdman
I was taking a graduate level film course and the one dude's presentation on "Carrie" actually included the CinemaSins video on the film. He didn't comment, he just let Jeremy make his points for him. Jeremy is actively making people dumber.
To be fair, it isn't just him and he wasn't the first. Just one of, if not the, biggest person who does it. There are so many channels that just repeat garbage easily to disprove points about movies that people just swallow. People think I like the Sequel Trilogy to Star Wars because I defend parts of the movie against what I find to be invalid criticism. There are legitimate reasons to questions the sequels, but so many people whine about things take out of context or misrepresented.
@@darththeo Oh I know he wasn't the first. Doug Walker invented that video format and he's an egomaniac who only ever rode the coattails of more talented people.
My favorite Sonic games are: Sonic Adventure 1 & 2 18:23 In addition to the backpack sin there was also a Tails logo patch sewn on the backpack too, that’s another way you can see who it actually belongs to.
I honestly thought Sonic 2 was slightly better than Sonic 1, seeing that not only does it have my favorite character from the games Miles Per Hour and my favorite interpretation of Knuckles (that being Papa Idris), but it also *doubles down* on the amount of references from the first movie, from a sly Ugandan Knuckles meme reference when Knuckles and Ivo meet, to The Mean Bean Machine, to Agent Stone picking up a Sega Genesis handbook while in the Death Egg Robot, to introducing G.U.N. in the Marriage subplot, to setting up what seams to be Sonic Adventure 2, to even doing SUPER SONIC! I also thought the backstory for the Chaos Emeralds was good, but also sort of disappointing since we won't be getting Chaos. This movie is basically the definition of fanservice and an actual movie coming together to become something greater. I cannot wait for Sonic 3. I wonder what meme they'll reference next?
could still end up getting Chaos given the whole "other planets" bits, wouldnt even need to change much of Chaos' backstory since he is literally just a heavily mutated chao and the only reason he went ballistic on the echidnas in SA1 was because they hurt the chao
I actually remember when Jeremy made a cognizant point about using titles to explain where something was in Thunderball, where the scene carefully framed itself in a way that it showed a famous landmark in a way that you would notice it because it was the first thing in the frame (the Eiffel Tower in that case), but then the frame drew your eye from that to the character the scene was about and then had a a character speak in French to said character, immediately establishing where it was without needing a title, demonstrating how with a bit of good film-making, you could avoid using location titles as a crutch. He considered this bit of good film-making worth taking a sin off. Moments like that make so much of his work really infuriating, because it really shows how he's capable of grasping stuff in films, he just chooses not to because he's realized his audience doesn't care and that means he doesn't have to try.
I've been watching Birdman since I discovered him. I watched cinema sins when it first became a channel and got sick of it. Let's just say, Birdman was a perfecto find. Keep doing you man. I know this is like a thousand videos in, but I'm at work and I barely comment on UA-cam videos. Long story short, thank you for your content.
I was in the middle of typing at the end of this video, about to say I love you and your videos, but then that ending music. Man I love that you always put the coolest scenes and music in the intro and outros and very much appreciate the outro music in this one.
I love these videos. I'm a huge Sonic fan and seeing Jeremy try and put these very well made and incredible movies down like this just makes me laugh. I'm absolutely convinced he's never played a single one of the Sonic games in his life. That said, keep up the good work dude. Your videos are incredible. P.S. I don't know about anyone else, but in the third movie, I would love to see 3 characters. Amy, Shadow and Metal Sonic.
I knew this video would be glorious and you didn't disappoint! Can't wait til Sonic 3 (& Knuckles) comes out! Also it was Sonic 3 where Tails could carry Sonic.
I feared this movie would jump the shark in theaters and I was going to watch a corporate mandated version of the sonic movie. I can't tell you how excited I got at all the story beats and how everything fit the movie series while also following the games story to a point. I doubt that the story writers knew knuckles was betrayed by robotnic for the master emerald or that shadow was a project to begin with and that he was older than damn near the entire cast just by watching one random sonic video. These people were clearly sonic fans that wanted to make a family experience that also appreciated sonic fans. I'm genuinely glad that these videos exist to keep people from looking away from the effort everyone of those workers had to go through so that a person who is not a sonic fan, or a kid, or watching the movie as a dad can make sure you notice how long the logo is or that he thinks the movie is bad because he doesn't care about it like a person of the movies demographic would. Thank you very much.
I'm a black dude who seen this movie 7 times in the theater and I only JUST NOW caught that racial dynamic you brought up regarding why Rachel doesn't like Tom. Even when I chuckled at her daughter calling him Uncle Tom... 😅 Thanks for this video, man.
I kinda assumed that in the first movie. Not to say you’re slow on the uptake I’m just saying Also I feel the second movie made Rachel much more likable than the first
As a black almost woman, I thought the same. I knew she disliked him even though he seemed like a great guy, but I never understood what the problem was. Bird explaining it definitely helped.
Ah yes. This is the video I was long waiting for. Also my favorite song from Sonic has to be Live and Learn Oh if we're choosing classic songs I gotta go with Star Light Zone, HILL top Zone, ice Cap zone act 2, and stardust speedway good or bad future.
"... You tell me why she hated this guy?" I have a theory! So in the first film, Rachel had a daughter, Jojo. Interestingly, there was no husband in that film. Me thinks, that Rachel had a divorce which led to her developing a comical distrust towards men in general. After her breakup, Tom met her sister, Maddie, and Rachel believed Tom to be no good just like her ex. She arrogantly holds onto that belief, completely ignoring how Tom and Maddie are actually really good together. However, the b plot is her marrying another guy. Which, sadly, is a wrinkle in my theory.

No surprise that they're already there
I honestly can't wait for the third movie.
Me neither.
If a Birdman episode takes 25 minutes, then you know we get lot’s of holes to poke
Also that voice acting at 5:58 was impressive. I know voice acting is a profession you do, but still, pretty cool
22:54
This has to be my favorite use of that gag.
22:55. I lost it here. Came out of left field and I watched it over and over again! Truly amazing!
I'm surprised Jermey didn't sin the post credits scene. Sinning Shadow the Hedgehog sounds like something he'd do.
Bold of you to assume he knows who that is
@Miss Electricvine of course he did 🤦🏻♀️
Too long? Isn't the entire scene, like, sub-one minute?
sinning shadow should be illegal
The fact that Jeremy sinned the Shadow reveal should've gotten him another 50 sins. Did he not watch all the videos of people losing their minds at that credit scene?
oh boy can’t wait to see another exciting episode of jeremy scott is destroyed by bird
Right?! It's my favorite show!
Being destroyed by a bird
11:44 Jeremy, you know why he's called KNUCKLES
Did the CinemaSins guys not realize that the Chaos Emeralds are important to Sonic 1 (the game), Sonic 2 (the game), Sonic 3 & Knuckles, Sonic Adventure, Sonic Adventure 2, Sonic Heroes, Shadow the Hedgehog, Sonic 06, and Sonic Unleashed, all of which came out before the MCU made the Infinity Stones (as they were known in those movies) as well-known as they are? Did they think this movie made up the Chaos Emeralds?
I can't wait for CinemaSins to "sin" Sonic 3 so that Th3Birdman can sin him.
I can't wait to hear Shadow's voice too. Haven't gotten to watch it
22:49 I knew it had to come eventually (the edited SEGA meme) in this video, but that caught me off guard slick lmaooo
You gave all Sonic fans justice.
Let's go!! Sonic 2 is officially my favorite video game film, and I've been waiting for you to do a video one it! Thanks for making my day
can't wait for how Jeremy dunks on the Mario Movie seeing how he knows nothing of video games and will only do it for the views anyway lol
@@savageratentertainment it's basically a given at this point
@@savageratentertainment on a slightly unrelated note: Pratt plays the italian plumber role surprisingly well
Fantastic idea to use the Sonic Mania art for the thumbnail for this one!
One, 100 points to Gryffindor for the Invicible thing. And Two, as a Christian, that last joke? Holy Fire, my guy. 100 more points
@lilkingg82 makes a Harry Potter pop culture reference that has nothing to do with Sonic the Hedgehog 2 cliche 🤷♂️ ding
This was my favorite Birdman video since Princess and the Frog. Thank you for this.
Also, double thank you for reminding me Smooth McGroove exists. I need to go listen to a few of his songs now.
I was laughing at 22:53 for like 5 mins straight.
I mean 22:54
@@Hitman-bl4yd oh no I understand either way what you timestamped and I fully agree. I was not ready for that and I was crying laughing cause of it.
Lowkey wished you added 250 more sins here. 100 for sinning Super Sonic, and the other 150 for sinning Shadow.
Still another great video as always though
You should've given him 1 million sins for calling Super Sonic... Ray The Flying Squirrel...
The idea that Jeremy has any fucking clue on who Ray the flying squirrel is and yet doesn't understand how the Chaos Emerald works is hilarious to me
Even if he does know who Ray the Flying Squirrel is, he called SUPER Sonic "Sonic-turned-Ray the Flying Squirrel" when he doesn't even look a dink like Ray. Like, why?
Dude! This is golden! Thank you so much for making this. Also, this movie is my favorite of all time
Tails is ADORBS! I love the scene when Sonic got a little chilly and Tails used his tails as a blanket as they slept side by side. 🤗
i love it too !!! i cant wait for the third movie
On the sin about the Face Time call: that is literally the best possible way for Sonic to use a phone, due to how the phone, and his head, are designed
Jeremy has never heard of the villain protagonist *gives 52 more sins*
That intro... Well, those intros were outstanding.
that "NIGGA" Sega drop caught me completely offguard 😭😭😭😭😭😭
Imagine getting mad that that the race for the Master Emerald goes ALL AROUND THE WORLD, even though it's one of the most valuable objects in the universe.
21:57 - I remember I did this in a video game. I was playing Black Ops zombies on the map Origins. The 1st time I saw those walking titans I looked up in amazement regarding how tall they were. I was literally stunned.
22:49 Best part of the video hands down
One of the dumbest things Jeremy said in this video that I'm surprised you didn't mention was his 82nd sin, right after the Owls steal the Master Emerald from the Echidna leader in the backstory: "Also, why not just make another one?"
Oh, I don't know, maybe because the Master Emerald was made by and contains ALL SEVEN of the SEVEN Chaos Emeralds of which there are EXACTLY SEVEN?! How would they make a new Master Emerald if they don't have the things needed to make the Master Emerald?!
In other words, Jeremy doesn't know shit about video games
@@MasonJWMyers that's not actually the case since that's not how it is in the games, especially now with the new revelations from Frontiers. This is only how it is in the movie, as explained in the very scene he was sinning at the moment.
How the could I have missed that?! Man this guy is such a dumb_ss it's hilarious.
@@MasonJWMyers In the games the Master Emerald was essentially a hard counter to the Chaos Emeralds
Love the chemical plant zone theme at the end...one of the best sonic songs in history..in my opinion
22:55 - LMMFAO!!!! Dammit, Birdman.....I spit coffee all over my laptop!!
I'm sooooo upset you got me with the Invincible title card joke. As soon as I heard the music and saw the screen, I paused the video for like 2 minutes because of how focused and how it broke my immersion with how sudden it was. This is why I love the wonders of video editing, good on you Birdman
24:03 He doesn’t know about Sonics rings (as he’s joked about it in both opening logos) but he knows about Ray the Flying Squirrel?
@@RenaldyCalixte the first movie. the other two are not real 👍
I love that you used Smooth McGroove's acapella. That good nostalgic feeling...
My favorite Sonic games are:
Sonic Adventure 1 & 2
18:23 In addition to the backpack sin there was also a Tails logo patch sewn on the backpack too, that’s another way you can see who it actually belongs to.
Maybe the meme they could reference is Ow the Edge? You know, considering that the next movie will be about Shadow.
It’s Miles Prower
Until this moment I didn’t know commercial sins was a thing
Knuckles being defensive and aggressive is so hilarious when it was simply Eggman helping him up.
I did the same thing irl a few times
22:50 had me spit out my drink lmfao!!!
Oh god, I couldn’t even finish CinemaSins’ video, thank you for this. I swear, I think his videos get dumber with each release
The intro is SO well timed. Perfect
22:55 this shit caught me so off-guard LMAO
"specially because Tom was a great guy that she disliked for no apparent reason"
bro he's a cop
That was the joke i think
22:41 realest characterization of tails ever
Oh man, I really enjoyed the movie but despised CinemaSins' video on it. I'm glad you're using the homing attack on them!
16:15 Squirrel UA-camr: You mean Infinity Stones?
Birdman: Gems. Infinity Gems.
(Reference to a certain someone who says Birdman is a Joke)
Shout out to Flying Battery going harder than it had any reason to in 1994
Right? That underlying bass, kick and snare hits hard af.
Man you're good at this, like I watched his Sonic video and there was barely anything I knew to sin. You are too good at this!
I was in the middle of typing at the end of this video, about to say I love you and your videos, but then that ending music. Man I love that you always put the coolest scenes and music in the intro and outros and very much appreciate the outro music in this one.
Smooth Mcgroove at the end, I approve of this video.
17:01 Birdman makes a invincible pop culture ref-
Love your videos, Birdman. Keep up the good work.
0:29 H O L Y S H I T
These must take a shit ton of time to edit, thanks for doing those rad syncs in the video openings :O
4:41, it could also have something to do with sonic's hip hop roots, a lot of the megadrive/genesis games had that kinda feel, from my memory.
Thanks for making this vid. Been waiting a while for this
Rachel's wedding was hilarious, don't @ me
I think Jeremy is secretly a Dursley. Hating anything fantasy just for being a fantasy story or in this case a game+story.
That makes sense, considering he did the Harry Potter videos years ago.
Which is weird since he wrote a couple novels about handicapped kids with superpowers.
@@InfiniteFury2K Exactly😃
I'm a black dude who seen this movie 7 times in the theater and I only JUST NOW caught that racial dynamic you brought up regarding why Rachel doesn't like Tom. Even when I chuckled at her daughter calling him Uncle Tom... 😅
Thanks for this video, man.
I kinda assumed that in the first movie.
Not to say you’re slow on the uptake I’m just saying
Also I feel the second movie made Rachel much more likable than the first
As a black almost woman, I thought the same. I knew she disliked him even though he seemed like a great guy, but I never understood what the problem was. Bird explaining it definitely helped.
To be fair his name is Tom. Anyone who has a niece or nephew and is named Tom is gonna get called that.
@@autobotproductions1244 I was just so into the fact that we actually got a good Sonic movie(s) that I wasn't looking into it like that. 😅
I been checking back looking for this video😭. Can’t believe im a day late
Hope you enjoyed it!
We should have a "Jeremy makes a pop culture reference-" counter at some point. Just a separate counter.
I love the fact that you added a Smooth McGroove song at the end of this video!
22:52 This took me OUT
U getting better and better at voices and accents bruv
Number 3 just got announced!! The ultimate life form!
Ok, you got me with the invicible bit there. I had to pause to laugh, damn you haha
Ah yes. This is the video I was long waiting for. Also my favorite song from Sonic has to be Live and Learn
Oh if we're choosing classic songs I gotta go with Star Light Zone, HILL top Zone, ice Cap zone act 2, and stardust speedway good or bad future.
The only thing wrong with the movie is the marriage scene. Everything else is fuckin perfect.
"... You tell me why she hated this guy?"
I have a theory!
Very nice intro!
Lmao 🤣😂🤣 you went hard in the paint at the end
