Leigh is currently working on developing a math curriculum that maps the structure of learning K4-12 math from a classical, Christian perspective. Leigh’s emphasis on the time-tested enjoyment of learning and the fundamentals of education and critical thinking skills grew out of her own experiences in homeschooling her four boys with her husband Robert. They, their children and grandchildren live near Pinehurst, North Carolina.
Schoolhouse Rocked: The Homeschool Revolution is feature-length documentary, currently in production. The film is intended to encourage and equip homeschool families to start strong and finish well. It follows host, Yvette Hampton as she travels the country with her family talking with education experts, curriculum developers, college and university faculty and administrators, and homeschooling families at every stage in the process, from kindergarten to college graduation and beyond. We've been with Classical Conversations (CC) since 2008 the year after they came to MD. We started our two children when they were 6 and 8 years old. My husband, who is a DC Firefigther, joined in as a tutor in our community and stayed in sync with the program through directing Challenge IV (12th grade level) with our son and daughter. I'm still with CC and supporting other families as they make this program a part of their educational journey.
