I hear you, but, I'm saying aftermarket...great tone for the price. I've paid more for a pedal. This has been a great practice amp for me, and I think Tedzoplin did a great job showing the range of this simplistic amp...just giving him "props".

I have a Black Heart Little Giant and an Epiphone Valve Junior both plugged in stereo. They sound about de the same with the same new JJ Tubes and Celestion Vintage 30 in their cabs. Great amps for sure!
This amp sounds excellent. I put mine through a 2x15 old fender bassman speaker cab. I paid $180 for the amp. Loud enough to use with a drummer. Great for the home. Buy it!!!!!!!!
Just bought this same amp with the cab with the eminence 12 " , on other vids there seemed to be a lot of trash talk about this amp , I tried mine at the pawn shop where I bought it using a Squier strat with alnico 5 pups, sounded awesome and paid the $200 they wanted , this is perfect for my small recording studio.
You got a deal bud. Change out that Eminence speaker with a WGS and you'll love it a lot more. When I switched mine out I was blown away at the improvement. The BH cabs get sealed with time but if you want to know how to get it open without damaging it ask here - - I'll give the details. The weak link in the amp,cab, speaker trio is def the speaker. Replace it and the Chinese pre-amp tubes and you have full blooded boutique tone all day long.

Killer Ant, Little Giant, Weber Micro-Mass attenuator. sounds the balls and saves my hearing and the cops from having to visit!! These amps have great tone -- love the Blackheart Designs -- great and f'in great!!
Something about a strat just makes alot of players gravitate to voodoo child and hit the low e and then the high e with ferocity lol. But it sounds good and lots of fun!

I was thinking about getting the Giant and mod it so it will play at 1w. The Ant volume is totally awesome for home, but the Giant tone just sounds so much better but even at 3w with full breakup its just too loud. Has anybody heard of doing this?

Gear never sounds remotely like it does in demo vids. I bought a 5-watt Marshall Class 5. It sounds INCREDIBLE, up until about 1/2 on the volume...After that, it begins, almost miraculously, to sound WORSE than the distortion on a solid-state Gorilla amp...People demoing that amp with the volume dimed and channeling "Rio Grande Mud" and "Physical Graffiti".....BOOO-WULL, SHIT...!!! I KNOW it would be the SAME with THIS amp....
gw77 Sorry but on this amp you are dead wrong. Mine sounds like this one and even better in the 3 watt setting that he never uses here. You bought a Marshall toy amp. this is a mans amp. Go try one out and then report the result before assuming ......

which Tubes are you using ? My LG5 Sounds more muddy or fuzzy if you play it with max. Volume (even with strat & SC´s)

...little heads like these love stomp boxes. but if you want high gain something tells me you'll want a little more than just 5 watts.
