  • Before the 2018 Academy Awards, I wanted to count down my favorite movies from the past year. So, I quickly slapped together this last-minute video discussing my Top 10 Movies of 2017.
    I obviously haven't seen every single movie from 2017. So, if there was a great movie that you saw from the past year and you're surprised it didn't make my list, there's a possibility I may have not seen it (e.g. Get Out, The Shape of Water, etc).
    This list also doesn't necessarily comprise the most critically-acclaimed films of the year. While I did take craftsmanship into consideration, I made my decisions based more so on how much I personally enjoyed watching them. Rewatchability and emotional impact were other two key factors in ranking the list. In other words, these are the movies that best fit my own personal taste in movies. Hence the title, "BLF's Top 10 Movies of 2017". Thanks for watching and I hope you enjoy!

    Nice video dude. There are so many movies that came out last year that I wanted to see but couldn't because I don't have a local cinema. I have a video about my top 5 that includes honourable mentions and another video of top 5 most anticipated movies of 2018.

    I really don't agree with what you said about the Last Jedi but great video

      I respect that opinion. The Last Jedi's definitely a divisive movie and Luke's story arc is undoubtedly a large reason. Honestly, I understand both sides of the argument. I just happen to fall into the side that believes the Luke from the original trilogy would've been stronger and not given up on himself or the rest of the galaxy so easily.
      Anyway, thanks for watching and commenting!

    No mention in the vid of the social commentary in Logan? HUGE missed opportunity.

      LOL - yeah, I don't know how that slipped my mind. Anyway, these reviews aren't really too thorough. Tried to keep them short and simple so the video wouldn't be too long.

      Sorry, that video was taken down by UA-cam due to copyright issues! Unfortunately, I no longer have access to the original file, because it was saved on an external hard drive that no longer works. Even if I did have the file and uploaded it again, UA-cam would just take it down again, though.

      @@christostserukosdoppelkinn6246 Hey there, I discovered that I'm still able to watch my 2012 NBA Finals video on my cell phone. So, I screen recorded my phone while playing the video for you. I can send you the file via e-mail if you want, or if you know a better way to do it, just let me know. The video quality might decline a little bit when I send it, though, but at least you'll have a way of watching the video.

    What's wrong with Luke's portrayal? Luke went through a lot and is a broken man who has lost faith, but he is still Luke Skywalker, and that faith gets restored. It's kinda like Logan how Luke is. And he has a great end. How Luke was portrayed is how George Lucas would've done it when he was planning the sequel trilogy.

    • @ragingfiip
      @ragingfiip  6 років тому

      I respect your opinion, but I'm not quite sure I agree. I don't believe the Luke Skywalker from the original trilogy would lose faith and give up on himself or the rest of the galaxy so easily in the first place. Logan is a completely different story. He's been alive for literally centuries and has been through hundreds of years of violence, torment, and pain - losing people close to him, killing a countless number of enemies, having a countless number of enemies trying to kill him, etc.out
      Luke's tragedy with what happened to Ben/Kylo is just the tiniest fraction compared to everything Logan had to endure. Even Mark Hamill himself has expressed in several interviews that he disagreed fundamentally with how Luke was portrayed in the movies. He hasn't fully accepted that it's the same character from the original trilogy.
      Either way, I understand where you're coming from about the character. And I appreciate you sharing your thoughts!

      ragingfiip ok, I thought it was fine. Mark Hamill has since said that he regrets disagreeing with Rian Johnson. Thank you for being so respectful of opinions.
