Anna, love the pots! I live in East Tennessee also, I have dianthus firewitch, it loves full sun. Highly recommend it! It turns into a rug, a beautiful rug!😂. Mine r probably 15 years old and they have spread all around my other perennials. And they smell incredible! God bless, John 3:16

As I was watching this video, all I could think about was how much work you and Ernie did last spring. It’s really coming along nicely. I don’t think you’ll see much of the ground because those flowers are gonna take off with all the blooms and everything it’s gonna be gorgeous.

I put some old bricks at the bottom of my large planters before adding soil to fill in space so I don’t waste too much soil. As long as the plants your planting stay small and don’t have a deep root system it works great!

Anna everything looks so beautiful. You and Ernie have worked hard and you will be rewarded with the beauty as things grow. I so wish I could work in my yard like that. Nowadays I just have containers on my deck that I can take care of myself. By the way I will have surgery again as soon as the current infection clears up. They have decided to go in through my back straight to the kidney to get the large stone. That way I will have to have the least amount of time under anesthesia which is a concern with my other health issues. Appreciate your prayers. Love in Christ

I'm not sure if you realize that every time you put your hand in front of the camera, when showing us something in the garden, your camera focuses on your hand. Yup landscape fabric for me is only used to kill weeds to make a new flower bed or under rocks cuz I don’t want the rocks to go under the soil as I’m stepping on them. I actually would rather use cardboard to kill weeds or grass for a new flower bed. Also adding compost around the plants every spring is important and having landscape fabric make it difficult to improve the soil.

You better be careful digging around in mulched areas with no gloves on. I know its hard to plant with gloves on but move the mulch out of the way and dig around alittle with a garden tool before sticking hands in there. Years ago, I was removing some weeds that had grown on top of mulch and I had to dig into the mulch just a little...when suddenly I saw something squiggle up out of the mulch!! I moved back because it didnt look right, got my shovel and dug into the mulch. There was not one but a bunch of baby COPPERHEAD SNAKES. They say the babies are more venomous than the adults. So just be careful everyone and know that snakes will lay eggs in mulch and theyll hatch out. I always have to Thank God for protection ❤❤❤ amen

So inspiring! You give me so many great ideas that I want to try out in my garden. This garden has all my colors and textures. I love the idea of the grass in the pot, I have a pool and the grass would look nice around it. You may want to watch a video by Laura from the garden answer, she has a great video on butterfly bushes, they aren't big on over watering and fertilizer, check her out. I didn't catch the name of that purple Salvia you planted, could you let me know what it's called. I enjoy all your videos, love your excitement for gardening, it's contagious! Keep on digging!
